- Onboard old school Kuwait Airways 20 year old A340-300 from Colombo to Kuwait city. No music is included this time to enhance the sound of the A340. Flight was delayed over an hour with no explanation as usual. Entertainment none, blanket none, but at least decent food (Paratha with chicken mince)

Boy apart from the somewhat chaotic boarding, very nice take off conditions and awesome finals to Colombo. Love flying on the A340 specially that view with the engines

It's Really Sad to see such a beautiful plane in such bad condition. I hope they retire the plane from service & let it rest. those poor engines must be stretched out. Kuwait Airways Are a very good airlines but the planes just need a little bit of a new look and touch up in cabin interior and aircraft fleet. they should update their A320s to A320Neos and long haul flights from B777s to B777-300ERs And once the Airbus A350 has arrived to their fleet the should add alot more new detonations and all the planes should have a sky interior and new livery and and update in cabin crew uniforms.
Ur right...Kuwait airways is a pretty decent airline and it well deserves a 3 star by skytrax.
I would put it into the category of Air India,United and American airlines.
But i have to say United and Air India have upper hand due to their large fleet and expanded network and also star alliance membership.
and yes Air India is best in domestic with 25Kg free luggage and comp meals.
but all 3 star airlines need to up their service which is not good as most of them are national cariers in 3 star category which speak volumes of how majority of governments around the world are.

New A320s and A330-200 joined the fleet as well as a new B777-300ER with a new Livery and most spacious Economy Class seats in the world , also private suites in first glass
Cabin crew uniform changed as well as the Livery changed, New destanations announced, and A350-900 , A320neo on order and will be delivered next year till 2020

6 hours
2017 I was in Kuwait air port for 5 hours, OMG cannot believe it as an airport. Airoplane also no difference, very old service not upto the level, I'll never ever travel via Kuwait air port and Kuwait airlines.

Kuwait is so rich, yet they cannot fully upgrade their bloody aircraft fleet.
+David Herbant You know that Kuwait has a parliament and everything has to go through it? The ministry of Communication and Transportation has requested the renovation of the fleet several times since 1999.. But their requests were being rejected by the opposition MPs for no apparent reason.
It's only in 2013 that the new parliament has finally agreed on buying 35 new aircrafts to be delivered between end of 2016 and 2019, and leasing 12 brand new aircrafts which are in fact all in service now flying mostly to European destinations.
