I give you a tour of my realistic home lab setup, showcasing the self-hosting hardware and software I use every day. Unlike many setups that resemble mini data centers, my home lab is designed to be practical and accessible for anyone looking to start their self-hosting journey.

Cable management, who? 😅
wait to see my homelab 🥲
Thems real life cables!
This is exactly why i follow this channel. My setup looks the exact same
Sounds like a pretty awesome setup then! :)
@@Techdox ohhhhh it's great .. a mixture of flashing lights and wires . Working on traefik today, trying to get authentik to work with it... I'm really not the smartest at this stuff . Every days a learning day 😁
This the best and simpliest set up ever, could you please make video on how you back up the whole VM?
@@zaheralashker194 sure can!
Instantly subscribed, will be looking for that video on how to set up the local domains and that authentik environment looks so good! Keep up the good stuff looking forward to more videos
Honestly this is what I wanted to do for my setup for so long and now I have a list and target to shoot for. Only thing I need to look into now is getting a script / service for monitoring and or managing other devices on my network and Ill be set. Thanks so much for this and all your guides.
I agree, me too
Subscribed! This is awesome !
I like the setup.. Just started to build my homelab… so far I have a hp z440 running Proxmox- installed a few vms for testing..
I also have a NAS and raspberry pi that I need to start integrating into my home lab…
Video is very motivating. Thank for this.. new subscriber here 👍🏾
Awesome, sounds like you already have a great setup!
very cool man ! you encourage me to do a home lab :))) I feel ready for it :D
We have similar setup for homelab... HP ProDesk 10th gen with 32GB on my Proxmox server and 4 bay NAS for storage. Another HP ProDesk 8th Gen with 32GB for my BareMetal PLEX Server with another 4-bay NAS for my storage.
Awesome! That’s a great sounding setup
@@Techdox We both do hahahha... Just like you, my reasoning is the same. I don't need to run hardware that is way overkill just to say that we use enterprise hardware. And oh.. the electric is expensive here down under :)
Been following your posts by the way.. great stuff! I used your tute on Pingvin-Share
I just run Adguard Home on my Synology NAS
Nice, block all those pesky ads!
Can you make an explanation video on how to link CF Tunnels with NGINX Proxy Manager?
If you have the two already setup, it’s just a matter of pointing Cloudflare to your NPM rather than directly to the service
Thanks!
Thank you 🙏
oh Man, I like it, what is your Dashboard?
@@GeekendZone check out “Homepage” I also covered it in a video :)
You have tutorials on how to setup the rest of it pihole nignx proxy manager
All the relevant videos are in the description
Looks great! Are you planning to set up a proxmox cluster or nah?
Maybe, get another Elitedesk or something. I haven't really hit a limit yet, could be good for failover etc. Would be a fun new project
Why not put your hard drives in the elitedesk? The NAS is superfluous.
They wouldn’t fit and I don’t want my main server being the backup for the services that are running on it. Having it external is the way to go
@@Techdox wat? I have 2x 3.5" drives in my elitedesk 800 g4 sff.
@NetBandit70 I'm not saying they don't fit, I am saying they wouldn't because I already have SSD's setup and I don't need/want to replace them so that my main server acts a s a hybrid NAS/Home server. That's bad practice. NAS and backups need to be isolated away from what ever they are backing up.
Single Point of Failure
what's your take on XCP-NG. Will you be using it anytime in future?
Definitely worth looking into, I have never installed it before so I’ll definitely look into it
Ever tempted to migrate from NPM to Caddy or Traefik?
I have tried them but I just like the simplicity of NPM :)
So you run your website and other domains out of Elitedesk???
That’s right :)
What's that draw program called?
Excalidraw :)
Did you have some kind of green-screen effect enabled when producing this video? Your LED lights on Synology and switch look trippy 😃
Yeah! My greenscreen filter was not on but it was still changing the green on the lights. I noticed that during editing
