This video shows us 2 things 1: perfectly shows what the emergency horn on Canadian passenger trains are used for. 2: what not to do at a railroad crossing
@@allohiorailfan6123 To an average person what would be the difference between hearing the regular horn vs the emergency horn? To them a horn is a horn and they may not even be able to tell which is louder from a distance
You mean "YOUR safety," not "YOU'RE safety." "You're" is a shortened form of the words "you are." So, you wouldn't say "it's for you are safety," because that's not proper grammar, and it just plain doesn't make sense. So the correct way to say it is "It's for YOUR safety," because "your" is a possessive word, while "you're" isn't. Right?
American trains don't have separate emergency horns, but newer models tend to have a two stage solenoid which has a similar effect. The low pressure stage is used in most situations, while the high pressure stage is much louder and is for situations like this, or simply when the train is going fast.

That horn is absolutely disgusting. But I guess that's why they use them, because they offend people and easily keep them away so they don't get hit. Those new Cab Cars are ugly as heck too.
Dude, i'm not a train hater, I just hate a few certain kinds of trains. These "New" Cab Cars are among them. Not everyone who likes trains admits they like every kind of train.
Thank god the guy actually got over the level crossing before the train went through, ngl I love the sound of the emergency horn tho, it sounds so good.
0:09 "pedestrians obey railway crossing signals" this video shows that they need a sign that says "Pedestrians obey sign that says obey the railway crossing signals"
Wow. What happened there. I haven’t seen the new cab with the emergency horn being used. Don’t cross the tracks when the red lights and bells are flashing. Great video.
They Sounded HORRIBLE Before but when Emergency mode is enabled, that's when they sound gud, All in all, The Nathan Airchime K5CA-LS Train Horn is good (even with emergency mode off)
@@tylerm666 I used to live there. Worst one was a lady in her 60s out walking there with headphones in and she got hit and dragged along the track between Timothy and water st. They closed that area up for a while day and nobody was allowed at Fairy Lake park.
@@jordanm.4855 I remember hearing it and the emergency call to RTC on my radio scanner, they were sure they hit that person head on but they were lucky to just have their backpack clipped, people REALLY need to learn to wait and listen and watch, dangerous stuff.
I used to hate the K5CSLAs but now I don't mind them. Also where even are the emergency horns on Go. I only know their location on Via. And basicly AMT only has emergency horns (two K5LAs)
Well let me tell you something, it is the exact same horn as the regular horn you will typically hear on GO trains but there is a setting to disable and enable the different chimes on the horn, so it is only the 1 unit but they can open and close the chimes
Lesson: Don’t be an idiot wait 20 or so seconds for the train to pass
Mbta 1034 Productions You’re Right. :D
Yeah, and it took 17 seconds for the train to pass
Joshua White bruh I am on your side
Joshua White i said it took 17 seconds for the train to pass, yes it was short
They probably have a skill issue in waiting
His Darwin Award will have to wait for the next train.
That emergency horn sends shivers down my spine!!
It did the same to me. :D
Body Aching ALL THE TIME

Is there something wrong with it or is it to loud how does it send shivers down ur spine

This video shows us 2 things
1: perfectly shows what the emergency horn on Canadian passenger trains are used for. 2: what not to do at a railroad crossing
Why can’t the emergency horn be the regular horn then?
As the name suggests, it’s used in emergency situations only, like someone crossing the tracks while the train is approaching.
@@allohiorailfan6123 To an average person what would be the difference between hearing the regular horn vs the emergency horn? To them a horn is a horn and they may not even be able to tell which is louder from a distance

This guy is Nucking Fits! That's what the flashing lights, bell and guard rails are for. You're safety. I'll bet that guy was both deaf and blind.
i think we should outmode these crossings for these underpasses (as it was done in Agincourt Station)

Dude, i'm not a train hater, I just hate a few certain kinds of trains. These "New" Cab Cars are among them. Not everyone who likes trains admits they like every kind of train.
Things that the railroad has to add
1. A quad arm system
2. Most importantly, pedestrian gates.
The fact that you hear the crossing bell when hes using the normal horn compare to when he hits the E horn and you cant hear the bells anymore...
Agreed. :(
And yet people want quiet zones
@Joshua White same
@Joshua White i live near gare parc. Who do the trains blow the horn there? Its a quiet zone. They blow the emergency horn in my area sometimes
Interesting. :D
@Joshua White in my area i hear the emergency horn a lot too.
Same here. :D
the emergency horns really sound like GET THE HECK OF THE TRACKS NOW
Agreed. That’s Really Good. :D
The emergency horn made me jump. NEVER race the train, you WILL lose!
I guess this is why transport Canada required all passenger trains to have this horn. Sounds louder than a k5lla.
