What's with these translations mixing the gender up? Old woman if she's his mother. I see this on most Chinese drama translations, can anyone explain the reason? A mix up with the symbols perhaps?
In Chinese there is only one gender pronoun that is 'ta' so he/she is the same word. Unless they are called brother, grandma, sister etc.. Without context he/she means the same in translations.
