@@mitch5222 hey so I had a panic attack the other day while in traffic. I didn't react to it. I stayed quiet and simply acted as if nothing was happening. My heart was pouding and felt all the sensations through my body. The only thing I did was count from 1 to 30 very slowly. So I would suggest not feeding into it with your body or mind. Simply let it go away on its own. You start feeding into it with body movements and thoughts you get more tired. Hope it helps you too. It's important to remember that it will pass.

One thing I try to do is.. to not be afraid of when anxiety comes up. I try not to run away from it, but instead, just sit with it and feel it. I ask myself, what is this feeling that I'm so scared of feeling? What does it actually feel like? Doing this can significantly reduce anxiety because you're not being inundated with the fear of anxiety in addition to the anxiety itself. Doing this allows you to observe it moreso, objectively, rather than subjectively. And, you realize that this dreaded "feeling" is really nothing. It becomes like a phantom because as soon as you are willing and able to truly sit with it, it turns out that it isn't even there. It only exist outside of it. It only exists as a [fear] of it, but, it doesn't actually exist in of itself.
Tho, this process may take a little time. At first, you just feel the anxious fear. And, you look at it and observe [how it feels], rather than looking at it as something that you are afraid of. In doing this, you must allow this feeling without resistance, and then just objectively observe exactly what this strange feeling feels like. Ask yourself why you are so afraid of feeling this feeling. You realize that this feeling isnt anywhere near as horrendous as you have been making it out to be. And, eventually, you realize it doesn't even exist. It was all a mirage created by your mind of something that you were avoiding due to your unwillingness to face it and feel it. So, you must feel it as resistance-free as you can. When you are in an anxious situation, allow the fearful feeling, and dont try to avoid it or escape it. Dont try to rush through the moment, but rather, just allow yourself to feel whatever feeling(s) comes up and then, observe it. Ask yourself.. what is so scary about this feeling? How bad is this feeling, really?

Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction meditation has helped me with fear. It teaches you to observe what is happening instead of reacting to it. When you are a witness, you are no longer a victim. UPDATE: It’s 2023. Being in the eternal now and letting go of the next moment is now what I do. This has helped even more.

The instant cure for anxiety is to understand the fact that there are infinite amount of possible outcomes in this universe and our brain only thinks of a handful . A bad outcome can become the means of a good outcome in the future. Just like that a good outcome can become the means of a bad outcome. For example, you lost your job (bad thing). But then you got a new job which is better ( bad thing led to a good outcome.) It's an endless cycle. So just go with the flow and don't think about it . 😄 Goodluck.

      @andso7068 Год назад +1

Exactly. It's all relative. So much so that I'd wager that the concept of good and bad doesn't exist. Going by the OP's example, is losing your job really that bad of an outcome? The result of such an outcome yields either someone else's employment or that former company's retention of profits. Both of which are positives, or good outcomes. Say you were to obtain an even better job, as mentioned in OP's example, should the loss of your previous job be considered good or bad? Id reckon it should be considered neither. Our minds tries at every moment to collude with our bodies to attain their own gain (the body just wants dopamine and your mind just wants to feel whole), not yours.

@Zom - b I can related all the words you describe, I have been dealing GAD , health anxiety since 2015, I'm on therapy and medication. Meditation and breathing exercises won't work unless you body stay calm so first try to release tense in your body by doing Progressive muscle relaxation. Once your body is relax and turning off fight and flight mode then you can able to focus on meditation or breathing exercises. For chronic Anxiety person and having panic attack oftenly 24/7 fight or flight mode activated, breathing exercises and meditation will even trigger your anxiety like myself. I find myself trigger by breathing exercises which is because my body is on fight and flight mode for long periods. So what I figured it out myself is first release the tense muscle and when I feel calm I'm able to breathe normally and I can meditate or focus on my hobbies. These will reactivate your rational thinking cortex. Do progressive muscle relaxation exercise frequently as per day.

People suffering from anxiety first learn to slow down your mind. Yes, breath slowly and take control of things. Then think rationally. The issue will be resolved.

I have debilitating anxiety very often, sometimes to the point that I am paralysed on my bed or sofa trying to calm myself down internally. I realised that my anxiety was worsening one as a result of physical issues and no external stimuli. I have been suffering from this sensory deprivation for years, trying to find things to do which led me in some...peculiar situations. When I have nothing to see or do,I tend to hyperfocus on my own intrusive thoughts, which leads to that anxiety. When I leave this anxiety to bubble up without any external stimuli to focus on,I focus on those thoughts way more than I have to. The pain of having anxiety is no joke,it's the worst thing I have to deal with (other than depression) in my life, especially in a time where I need to be focused on other things the most.

2 of my panic attacks began in my sofa, I was afraid of laying down in that sofa and having another one for a while. Watching this video I decided to go and confront it, telling myself there is no reason for me to be afraid. I felt a bit of anxiety once I lay down and worried thoughts came to mind, took some deep breaths and told myself that it was ok. After a moment I was very calm and comfortable. Now I feel accomplish and I’m planning to do this a bit by bit with other situations. Thank you so much!

The best way to conquer fear is reason. You have to see if your fear is valid enough to keep because if it is valid then you wont feel the fear it will be a caution. If its not, then you feel more dumbfounded and relaxed. Fear seems like and uncertainty than an crippling ailment. Having a realization/revelation is the fastest way to cure anxiety/depression. Gaining the proper perspective is the main goal of every persons life.

you have to give meaning to the reason though, because reason/logic alone isnt enough. and that meaning is subjective towards every individual for every separate experience
if reason was enough to conquer fear, no one would ever procrastinate ever again, because logically we KNOW what we need to do. the hard part is coming up with why.

I've had this for 10 years, didn't know what it was until the last few years, I cured mine by using it as a tool to my benefit.
My sympathetic nervous system puts me in fight or flight for any of a few unknown and known triggers, initially its terrifying and that feeling can cycle and retrigger and the loop is set.
After a 3 day panic attack, yes 3 days of constant waves of panic id had enough and just started hitting my heavy bag, I was determined to punish myself for feeling this way, the panic stopped after 15 mins, then returned an hour later, I threatened myself "ok we want to go again" I repeated this until they stopped and they did.
The only time they show now is in places I can't do anything about, driving, shopping isles etc...
I just smile to myself and say "your gonna pay for that when I get home"
I'm not cured by any means, but now I actually enjoy the free motivation it gives me.
If this helps only 1 person I'll be happy.

How I healed from this was first God because I asked him to remove it from my life and make me fearless then I just accepted it . When I would feel anxious I would talk to it and tel it to come take a seat have a look around everything is good here nothing to fear ,thanks for trying to protect me but I don’t need you anymore ,I don’t need your help and also I would force myself to just sit there and let it wash over me and feel it .I kid you not it just vanished . Another thing to realize is that the things that anxiety tells you aren’t real so any time anxiety would tel me something I would simply say that’s false it’s not real , I am not my thoughts they are simply just thoughts let them be . Then I would try to make myself feel anxiety or panic and I just couldn’t even if I tried .

Hello everyone, I just wanted to share with you one method which is helping me to deal with my anxiety.
When you feel the anxiety, find some body movement which is pleasant for you and which you can do repeatedly for a long period of time. Some examples of such movements are bowing forward and back while sitting, or rotating your body left and right while standing letting your hands to wave freely, or imitating hand movements of the skiier who is pushing his skiing poles, or waving hands like during swiming, just find what you body likes and what movement you may repeat almost indefinitly.
Then just do this movement as long as you still experience anxiety or fear or anger. It could be anything between 1 minute and 1 hour depending on your state. But don't force yourself, the movement should be pleasant and easy and harmless to do. And don't try to relax. Don't try to force bad thoughts to go away. Just keep moving and thinking about the things you want to think about. If you will want something, like cry, then cry. If you will want to sleep then stop moving and go to sleep. Continue this exercise untill you feel yourself relaxed. Again don't force yourself if you feel tired, then sit or lie and take a rest.
It is very simple, and it helped me a lot. There is a whole channel about this method from its author: ruclips.net/video/wl-k-0OP2lM/видео.html , unfortunately it is not in English.

The definitive video will include biological differences between each one of us, including those who inherit fears, war traumas. Also, some of us are just wired WAY more sensitively than others. Others of us have fears that began pre-verbally as infants or before that can't be reached by CBT but by image/active imagination. Of course if this happened, then these people would have to admit their approach doesn't help everyone. Maybe the next generation...

All my life I used to be terrified of lizards. Five years ago a green lizard got inside the house and I was all alone. So I just stood there staring at the lizard without moving and the lizard was staring at me too. And I told myself the lizard is more scared of me than I was of it. At that moment my fear was gone. I picked it up and put it outside on a plant. I don’t have fear of lizards anymore. I am 65 years old.

Mindfulness practice helps a lot. Also as the panic arises I immediately take Aconite 200 homeopathy. It’s like magic stops panic from escalating.

Okay with CBT I get it you focus on what is causing you to have a fear response. However, there are panic disorders where the panic attacks come out of the blue with no specific fear attached to them. Is CBT all we have?

I deal with anxiety at times but it seems to change for me when I become aware of what's happening in the process. It reaches a peak where I have to ask God what is going on with me. I have strong feeling of my heart feeling gripped by grief, anger, sadness all wrapped in one. So, I try to understand/distinguish how did I get here.

It's also amazing they skip over family dysfunction? I was bullied by 7 people in family.
Just happened to be what parents (birds of a feather) had in their pasts to aim at and I
fit because I was first born (lucky me) Ever after even the more educated part of my family refuses to believe that because parent's had their saga . One sibling however has admitted I was picked on more than anyone in family. I got it too because of the people they were abused by. I have been in therapy a while and just deciding to leave. Why? Because all they do is mechanical stuffing meds down your throat which don't help at all. And I was also diagnosed with some PTSD.
Not that I should be ashamed of this I am lucky to be alive due parents. So the stress that I still have is not sometimes something I can cope with.

I too was picked on just left Ohio a week ago age 53. "black sheep" of the family. I believe in No contact with narcissistic family members if at all possible. Listening to Eckhart Tolle has helped me as well as yoga, walking, and meditating, probiotics-some. Ayurvedic herbs and other alternative treatments may help, like acupuncture/pressure. It;s comforting to me sometimes, just to read about all the helpful herbs that are out there. Good luck on your journey :) You are not alone.

37:58 i suggest adding a 5th set of questions to mirrow it (how do my xy work, how did it develop, what is it for, how did it evolve?). It will put your knowledge in perspective. You ll see that there are funktions of this object that you can not catch, you can not know yet. Because you yourself are not developed enough. That will help you to keep an open mind to everything you work on and to search for new answers and test new theories, even if you already decided what you think "it" is for. Add a set of mirrowing questions to the person who answers the first set of questions. That will make you see more. Basically add a 5th question named "Is the person answering the four questions developed enough to get that 4 questions right?"

Imagine a meter on our forehead, one half is green to yellow, and the other half is orange to red. The Green is Calm and Rational, Yellow is engaged and Rational, Orange excited and more emotional than rational, and the needle is in red when we are overly emotional and need to get self-aware to get the needle back to a balanced in the middle position. Since we are not robots, we will always be feeling something about something. We just have to be conscientious of our need to have a rational and emotional balance. If you are a robot, then your needle will always be in the extreme green, a non-emotional entity, that's no fun, and no way to be living. We must be meaningfully engaged and invested to achieve some kind of sense of fulfillment.

MrCeo1978buddy It is hard to figure out how to face that fear. I had a stillborn baby 18 years ago. The image is burned in my mind. For a long time, and still sometimes, when I see or hear a newborn baby, I break down and cry. That kinda reminds me of like you said when people are crying, it makes you feel like crying.
