Could you throw in a quick question about the new weapon types? I haven't heard anyone say anything about spears/crossbows etc., and they seem really cool! Love the content Sub!
Ask them about their engine for poe 2, will it include some of the latest technology's like dlss, rtx ray tracing/path tracing, direct-storage api and so on. Graphics already look sick and i can't wait to feast my eyes.
it's the first league I've quit early. Cannot explain why just wasn't feeling it. tried 3 different builds but nothing. Hopefully next league will be more exciting
Same. Got on a few days ago after being out of town for a few days ago and after a couple of maps I just logged out and haven’t been back on. Just not feeling it this league.
I did way too well week 1 so i got burnt out my character was worth like 120 divines day 3 as apposed to it normally taking me 3 weeks to get a solid build going
I'm just so happy that I'm not the only one who felt that way. I could not bring myself to play beyond exactly 2 attempts of a T17 map. League mechanic is lackluster af, very convoluted for no reason, too customizable imo. T17 were not doable early on on SSF and for my archetype of builds. They butchered my shitty Scarab flipping strat with harvest. They destroyed Veiled chaos'. I'm just .. so disappointed with the whole league.
I got the "targetted burnout" from GGG this time. Last league was my first killing ANY of the endgame ubers (the ones now in shards). I planned on doing it again and getting better at killing them. Oops, build can't do T17 bosses. Oops, can't make enough money to buy shards in any reasonable amount of time. Oops, my entire purpose this league got fucking shafted into the ground. Oops, uninstalled. (Bear in mind, NOT a FOMO thing. I've gotten this as a response a couple times. I'm not "missing out", I "can't do the things I could before". There's a big difference. If someone cut off your legs and you complained about not being able to walk, I hardly doubt anyone would call it FOMO)😆
I've played about 10k hours as a casual player (never got super deep into mechanics and crafting), but I was pushed away from this league and gave up. Last league was my absolute favorite so far and I even reached lvl 100 for the first time and saved up for a mageblood. I didn't even get a single divine this league. The difficulty and nerfs were just too extreme. I forget what league it was but there was only 1 other league that was so bad it pushed me away for like 5 leagues because they went with a huge nerf to everything including movement skills and difficulty spike. I've also always hated scarabs and ramming additional shit into my map device. It all resets to zero in a few months so why do they need it to not be fun?
Thank you for pointing out that Ubers aren't aspirational in this video. GGG acts like they are but drops and challenges that are gated by them definitely tell a different story.
@@BIGPILGRIM420 Because they are out of touch hyper gamers who only play powerful meta build so they think defeating the uber bosses is simple childs play. Meanwhile people like me have 4000 hours in the game and have never beaten a uber boss yet lol.
@@BIGPILGRIM420 The issue is that uber bosses drop items that are necessary for some builds. If they dropped exclusively "win harder"-items like Mageblood or Headhunter, it would be a different story.
@@Zevrael by definition that is aspirational. If you aspire to "complete your build" and the thing you need is on an Uber boss then you obviously aspire to kill that boss. Aspirations aren't givens. Builds that don't work without "uniques now gated by ubers" probably need to do some self reflection.
@@christopherfreeman3442 The problem is that all the good shit is in Ubers, and all the trash is in pinnacles. GGG was talking about bridging the gap, this is NOT how you bridge the gap to endgame. First pinnacles were worth, and Ubers were meh, now they flipped the situation. They didn't think this through fully.
As someone that knows this game in and out, and that has cleared all T17s and uber bosses...this is just too much. The fact that some of the T17s were a chore to go through even as a decently invested character that would do the map with a Headhunter and swap to Mageblood for the boss...this is just way, way, way too much for the game... the whole idea of T17s being this "stepping stone" has been completely missed. Remember when we'd blame ourselves for the complete lack of visual clarity in the game in general? ("you juice too much" "that's what happens if you put 4 scarabs + sextants + map mission + invitation...you're doing this to yourself") ... well, now the visual clarity is a mess even if you run them without anything extra...random shaper beams, Maven permanently following you putting stuff around, bombardments of volatile explosions when you kill a mob which follow you everywhere, petri statues...and that is a big issue when you have barely noticeable attacks that can 1shot even characters with super high defenses (see Alkaizer's Jugg...survived Awakener's meteor barely losing any health, one of the strongest attacks in the game that has a 6-7 seconds telegraphed animation...only to die to a Detonate Dead from a random mob in a random map) If i had to pull a number out of my ass, the gap between 16s and 17s feels as big as the one you get going from mid yellow maps into high red maps, and some of the modifiers on these things are just insane, reason why "decently rolled T17s" are selling for 3 to 10 divines if not more...i spend an average of 40 to 50 chaos just to make the map runnable.. It's just too much. At this point this isn't really a bridge, it's a minefield.
The corpse system is the absolute worst least user friendly system I've ever seen. Forces a massive number of interactions with the worst trade system I've ever seen.
A lot of the endgame fun for me was layering multiple different strategies on top of each other and the chaos that'd cause. Delirium + beyond + legion + strongboxes + expedition/harbinger/breach/abyss/shrines all in a single map with 1 scarab + 1 or 2 sextants per league mechanic you want to boost. On top of alch and go being severely gutted, now it's "You will only engage with one league mechanic and you will like it." or else you're being inefficient even at a non-sweaty level. Instead of choosing a tier of scarab you want per league mechanic to reflect the amount of investment you want to put in/need for that mechanic, you have to combine all of the scarabs of that league mechanic, leaving no room for other league mechanics, because you only have 4 slots for scarabs instead of 4 scarabs and 4 sextants! If we don't get 4 more scarab slots for next league, I'm done. Not going to go into depth with everything else wrong with this dumpster fire of a league because it's already been said thousands of times over, just wanted to air out my personal biggest gripe. We really are just beta testers.
To your alch and go point: I think part of the problem is this: You are incentivized to go hard into a strat. Lets use harvest as an example. But what does the common harvest scarab do? It just adds the grove to your map. I have about 200 of those, but only 50 of doubling. So….can I really just toss in the harvest scarab for 3.24 alch and go? Not really-I can get 100% harvest in the tree super easily regardless. Situations like that. I would have liked if the “rusted” versions of a lot of league mechanics not only put it in your map, but provided SOME kind of alch and go equivalent boost.
@@yulmoocha7199not quite. Quite a few of the "spawn mechanic" scarabs are absolutely crucial to some strats to feel good. Strongboxes or breach for example lose A LOT of attractiveness if you remove the basic stackable scarab that spawns more. The main issue with "spawn mechanic" scarabs is that the mechanics are split into "can spawn multiple times" and "spawns once". The ones that are for mechanics that can spawn multiple times are great, the ones that can't are basically pure filler, since you can guarantee it on the tree by now.
@@nextgen3ric I think these scarabs should have different benefits. For mechanics like Harvest (where the base scarab just adds the grove to your map) vs mechanics like Essence/Strongboxes/Breach etc (Where the scarabs add more essences, strongboxes and breaches to the map) You gain better value from these scarabs compared to a basic harvest scarab.
@@skrishna3 agreed. Easiest way would be to put some basic quant/rarity/packsize (either/or, honestly, since that is partially the equivalent of what the stackable ones do) on them, that would make them at least SOMEWHAT reasonable for select things. Granted, that's still not foolproof, but it'd at least be something.
I wasn't sure why I wasn't enjoying this league as much until you mentioned it. Previously, I would be satisifed running T16s casually and occasionally trying out ubers after doing a few upgrades to my build but now I have a nagging feeling that my build sucks since I am not running T17s instead and have that feeling of FOMO.
Yeah I felt this bad, I did EK ignite and as a t16 farmer it is AMAZING its like 25 million dps instantly exploding the whole map in 1 minute which is way stronger than most characters i've ever played, In any other league I would be supremely satisfied and happy with this character/build but since I 6 portal t17 back to basics juiced maps I feel like my character sucks.
They said that they didnt like that players were choosing to sell boss fragments instead of running them because normal bossing felt bad to do instead of doing them as ubers. They created the same sort of issue with T17 maps. If you cant run Ubers, you used to sell the frags. Now if you cant run T17 maps, you sell the maps. It feels bad because you know that you are missing out on how lucrative they are. And T17s are not just slightly better than T16s, they are exponentially better than T16s. Running strats on T16s feels like shit now. Same feeling of running pre-necropolis non-Ubers. Not sure how to fix this. Also T17s are not inbetween normal pinnacle bosses and Ubers. They are above Ubers. That to me means that literally nobody at GGG tested T17s before implementation.
They are still not that hard, people just need to stop making hadicapped builds because it is softcore so I have 6 portals, no play normally, invest in spell impression and ailments red, have decent evasion simple as.
@@ggbatman1981 it is impossible as you don't need any currency until red maps so they are either unable to read guide properly as letters are scary for them or they are trying to make own creation without understanding the basics which makes them handicapped.
@@motherpigeon1582 bro the regular player base is dog shit in POE. you gotta understand that. most players get stuck in yellows. alot of players dont make it out of campaign untill the 2nd or 3rd play through. IM NOT SAYING EVERYONE
Scarabs being so much more accessible makes the ineffectiveness of Alch and Go feel fine for a noob like me. I was never able to effectively use sextants, so this feels like a huge decrease in complexity.
Good question on how we feel about it. I missed a huge chunk of the league so far because I was travelling and a couple days ago came back and things were wiiiiilllld. I'm basically planning the same thing as you, working on a T17 farmer that I can hopefully league start. Minmaxing a build just feels weird with the amount of graveyard micromanagement necessary, I'd prefer just blasting. Thanks for the video!
I am doing the same exact thing. I want to play the game right now but the market is such a mess that I don’t see any point in really participating in the league anymore. I am working towards next league to find a league starter that can do t17s
I really don't see any reason why items such as allfames and coffis, if they are of the same type and ilvl, why can't they stack just like incubators do
@@Sonofhroft Its probably because less and less people buy their redicolously overpriced microtransactions they started resort to scummy tactics like this. So much for f2p game. You can argue that at this point if you want to participate in the endgame for a long period of time, stash space required will cost you more than a new aaa game.
this is the least amount of fun i had in a league since Kalandra league and the only reason i even kept playing is because im better than i was back then so just based on knowledge i could make currency. i called it quits maybe 4 or 5 days ago.
I've also thought this league was Kalandra 2.0, increased difficulty and less rewarding except for the top juicers, and even more annoying with the lantern menu every map and corpses cluttering up the screen
Graves is for gambling then lvl up.. need like quver with add damage to attacks just plant corps dosint mater what type just plant and craft i didint even read whats wirten exept nobles corpse... and select base tipe and craft... after 10 corpses gamba can get one usable item.. like ring with chaos + chaoes rez... after 25 corpses got 21 implicit and 30 sufix usable.. its for lvl gamba :D if end game not picking need stash tabs ... i think this league was for selling stash tabs.. cash grab :D :D :D
It's almost as if they wanted to weed out the casuals or something, that's what it feels like. POE was never my main game, but I found this league to feel tedious more than fun. I never really quit, I just found myself logging in less and less and then not at all. Shame, maybe next league.
The amount of degen stuff that happened this league is pretty unacceptable. The moral of the league was basically abuse first , abuse often before it gets nerfed. Instead of nerfing the borderline exploits immediately they allowed them to run for a day or two then nerf them when the damage was already done. Pretty sad.
They do this all the time though. Every league they stop the the strat after the top 1% have already profited. The damage has been done. The crazy part is that people don't see that this happens every league. Just like most of the new league mechanics, just variations of the same things. The fact people don't see this makes me think many poe players are simpletons, just want something shiny. Reskin a widget to a new color and all of sudden streamers excited as if the game is new. That said, I enjoy the game overall, but I switched to standard this league and won't play leagues anymore unless the Kirac Vault pass has a good MTX I want.
Scarabs feels too mandatory and a too big part of the loot table is my thinking, its just too many dropping and doesnt feel like a good drop. Feels like im picking alterations if im honest.
i used your league start, couldnt handle T17s bosses, then tried zoomancer, same thing happened. Over 100 div into each build. Still cant do T17s reliably. Now i just got to maps with Ice nova of FB acrhmage build. if this one doesnt work out i might be done with the game for quite a while. It is really frustrating putting so much time into 2 different characters and still not being able to do the "bridge" between pinnacles and ubers. Last league with your srs build i was able to down 3 ubers. Guess ill know in a few days. Love your videos
actually impressed you lasted this long, I got baited into EA Champion (never play this build if you want sanity), could barely do trash mobs at t17. first time I left the game week into season, absolute garbage mechanic
@@m0nZt3r EA Champ is far from bait. I have done T17's with this build. Now it's not the best build for T17's but my version of EA Champ is a tank so it gets the job done. If your trying to run B2B with it and you don't have insane defenses your going to fail.
T17 are garbage. I run them with my life low sanctum hexblast occu, but I literally need to melt everything off screen already. If any monster appears on my screen I'm toast. She is completely adorned with easily 150 million dps, hope they revert the T17 for the next league or completely rework it. Too much loot in them
Quit early :(. It was a rough one. Wayyyyyy too many changes, patches, etc. that it became very demotivating and overwhelming. Thanks for the awesome recap. I am sure the scarab change will settle as people get a good sense of each type and its benefits.
endgame was fine, scarab-based stuffs were awesome, league crafting kinda good. but they basically nerfed invitation farms. that one was my favourite. hh is 10 divs and mb is 100 divs. they are not chase items anymore. there is no point to farm them. i got 3 mb (one of them was drop and the others were gamble) in week one. that wasn't funny at all, i am serious. after all of that, i started ssf in week 2. regular bosses are not good to farm anything. i've got maven more than 15-20 times, and never got one awakened gem. idk you guys, but for me, it was worst league ever. i've been playing this game since 3.13 (expedition)
@@methone4771 I've been playing since 1.1 and I agree that this is the least fun shit they've ever released. Just looking at the effort that went into leagues like synthesis compared to this shit is crazy. All the UI even looks cheap and shitty. The scarab rework is also a complete atrocity.
I was obsessed with it before this. Even bought the top tier supporter pack. Played the league for like a week and never went back. Pretty disappointed
A lot can be said about this league, but for me the two most important things came down to finding that comfortable build and what farming strat you want to do.. but you gotta be very specific..
The drawing point for me that caused me to quit the league was when i spent an hour just trying to get 8 sets of scarabs and no one on trade wanted to trade, and the ones that were willing to were about 2x the normal price of scarabs. I spent more time trying to trade then I did running 8 maps...honestly if this is the direction that GGG wants to head towards I dont think i want to be apart of it. This is not mentioning the other underlying issues like FOMO of farming t17s, alch and go is essentially dead, bossing doesnt feel great anymore...
As a player who has only a couple of hours a day, and previously farming Jun's mission, this league is really pushing me away from the game. Still dont understand why are there only 64 corpse stash while there are 88 slots to fill.
I have a couple of thousand hours in the game, but I really consider myself still a casual. Two things that just put me off playing this league going full no life into it was. 1. When Grimro posted the first degenerate strategy that literally made his pc freeze up every time loot dropped. 2. The video where Zizaran was getting taught the corpse placement mechanic by steelmage, and one craft took about an hour. I just nope'd out after that and dabbling in SSF, but lost interest quickly. Now I'm not playing this league anymore, just waiting for the next one.
@@Sav-xd9tz dude an hour for a craft, are you mental? Think about that and strategies putting them behind then getting strategies removed every single time.
@@deathmauler181 Mate you can skip the graveyard and just use the new map modding for a sick league mechanic. We got a double up on league mechanics and yet people still find a way to be a negative cunt.
My problem with the current Scarab situation is that there is so much gatekeeping and solo players are priced out completely from certain scarabs. It’s gonna push a lot of people into group play and those that don’t want to play in a group are gonna be pushed into out of map league starts like Sanctum.
They just moved in a direction I can't enjoy anymore. Endgame content is basically impossible for casual players. Before, you could have a decent enough build and manage to survive, but now it is basically unplayable because of how brutal the new mechanics make surviving maps. Certain mobs/packs instakill you regardless of build. Certain bosses are virtually unbeatable for the majority of build. You basically need to have multi-mirror valued gear to compete. There are too many cheap and lazy implemented mechanics, instead of taking the time to properly balance things over the spectrum of all players. Lets face it, the campaign is NOT poe, endgame is poe, and by having it behind a gear and currency wall, you are turning away the majority of your player base. The drop rates early game are non-existent until you get to T16/17 maps. You get shit on by trash mobs making it very difficult to solo your way through. The game has evolved into a non user friendly mess over the years and I don't find myself actually enjoying any of it anymore. The past few leagues I found myself forcing myself to adapt and accepting things but this league so far has been my least favorite. The crafting has become insane, and you are better off just buying gear from the players that farm top tier maps to save yourself the headache and wasting all your hard earned currency. The economy is 100% driven by the 1% mass currency farmers, making this feel like all my grinding is for literally nothing. None of it feels like it has any actual value to me anymore. I find myself taking weeks or months off because i'm just bored of never making progress. It just takes too long to reach the point I can actually play the real endgame content and by then the league is over. Dont get me wrong, I've loved this company since they launched POE, and ive been playing it consistently since then, but I feel like they kind of don't care for the content they put out all that much anymore.
If you go through the comments you'll see the biggest issue with path of exile. The players. 7 years of "I'm double corrupting my 10th mageblood of the league so its fynee" has gotten us here. The top guys who control the market are always happy because the floor is being raised to the old ceiling, keeping the poors away from the enjoyment. New players are having a terrible time. That's facts and you can check those facts by logging into path of exile and seeing how dead the league is. We are ONE month in and it feels like this trash has been around for 6 months. It was a bad, untested league and there are too many exploits, bugs, and obvious errors to say it was. Another fact - they finished the league 3 weeks in when they added the scarabs they hadn't finished yet. It's getting more and more obvious they just run out of time and give up. Remember "dark kalandra"? Doesn't matter that league wasn't good so its gone. FOMO!!!! I'm doing just fine playing kobes LA again but I quit this league already because it's not fun. If you like mining items to look at in standard, and buying a HH to look at in standard it's the best league of all time. If you actually want to play some Path of Exile you have to deal with blue mobs that outsurvive the map boss and struggling to sell your scarabs or selling t17s. That friction to just PLAY THE DAMN GAME is what "feels" bad this league. No run and gun map blasting you're either in standard or you're like me - waiting the 4-8 months or whatever for GGG to dump out its latest unfinished league and lie about it. I used to say I hope they change but the only thing they're talking about is Path of Exile 2: The 4.0 Update. Oh and no ones talking about the fact the beta got pushed to SOON tm because they can't even get a update they announced 3 years ago to beta in the same time their competition released 2 full games (immortal and 4). And where's poe mobile? They laughed at Diablo Immortal in their little video and added an einhar voice line to ridicule them and we don't even have screenshots lmao
I would have enjoyed the league if it weren't for t17 maps. I lost my Animate Guardian two times with 40+ Div invested into each. I could clear 80% of a map just fine, then suddenly a pack oneshot him even with 100k+ life and max block. Stuff like this should not happen. I got 40 challenges done the past 4 leagues, and I gave up before 20 this league. I feel like everything wen't wrong, definitely my least favorite league in a very long time.
Here is a question i would like to hear answered by Jonathan. With their idea of having more active skills in the bar in POE 2, for example skills that inflict some sort of status. How do you think this will affect build diversity? Will you have 3 or four skills that are kinda "mandatory" leading to a copy and paste template that just switches out the main skill. Or are there going to be multiple ways to inflict these effects leading to more options? The current state of POE 1 is like this in a way where certain auras, movement skill and a curse are mandatory depending on the build archetype. Personally i like the idea of auras providing a bonus but there being an active way that can grant these bonuses at a higher potency to promote more active play or at least providing a bit more to play with in build creation.
I played 4 months last league, done a couple a days ago this league. Dont like the scarab changes, pigeon holes u into like one mechanic to vertically scale it really dont care for that. league mechanic feels worse than playing standard. no drops to really look forward too. too much friction in a quadrillion amount of small trades inregards to how many scarabs and corpses there are. And the super high end strats' barrier to entry was at one point 50 div PER MAP. you would have to buy the div scarabs ONE BY ONE, BUY ALL FLAMES 1 BY ONE, roll the goddamn t17's for hours and then finally be able to play. I dont know why they removed sextants but then added all flames, makes no sense. so nah they fucked up hard on this patch
One thing I do absolutely love about the state of T17s is the massive chaos sink. Divines at < 100c over 3 weeks in is amazing and really boosts the returns of non-T17 farming. Of course some of that is due to increased supply and reduced demand for divines this league, but still.
What you said at around 3:42 onwards about the baseline strength required from builds sky rocketing has really been the most sour thing for me this league. In Affliction I was enjoying the loot just like everyone else, but it was still a struggle (as a solo player) to make a build that could farm mega juiced abysses with the wildwood, beyond, deli etc. whilst striking a balance between clear speed, survivability and general comfort/enjoyability. Towards the end of the league I said to myself "bring on the next [poverty] league, can't wait for "normal" mapping to be the endgame again." Little did I know that T17s would be far worse and far more restrictive than stacking every juicing mechanic possible in Affliction. It feels awful to invest into a build so heavily but no matter what it just will never feel good for T17s, if you can even make a build that's appropriate to run so many of the build-breaking mods - which obviously isn't very common as demonstrated by divines being worth less than 100 chaos right now (meaning most people are chaos spamming heavily to make runnable maps). The fact is that you're either running T17s or you're not, with the gap between T16s and 17s being so exponentially big that it's a wonder how this awful design made it past QA. I've never seen a league require so many patches and hotfix nerfs to loot this quickly as well, which shows just how much GGG are scrambling to fix untested oversights (note: I don't play every single league so I'm not saying it's never happened but I've never witnessed it since starting in 3.0 so it must be uncommon at most). I love GGG but damn, when they miss, they REALLY miss and can ruin a league for me before I feel like I've even had a chance to get into it. Said a bit more than I originally intended but thanks for reading my rant if you got this far, haha.
Tbh, I'm having a ton of fun. I'm not the type that gets bothered much by FOMO. I'm having a ton of fun playing my build, figuring it out and all. . . Poe is just so fun, league mechanic or not
This. Same for me. I get why lots of ppl are upset and not enjoying it, but the fact that 3 a casual and have never done the ubers, and don't have the FOMO as long as I'm having fun, helps a lot. Plus i like the crafting aspect. Sure, its tedious, but still cool ince you made a goid upgrade for your build or something you can sell for profit
100% spot on. T17 completely negates the want to do t16 farming, trash map layouts, awful mods, gates most players from engaging with it. Handful of builds can even do it. Making 5-10 div an hour maxing t16 strats when people are farming 30+ on t17. Scarab changes are iffy at best, nice to get rid of sextants but strategies are more linear. Untested league mechanic resulting in tons of abuse (i dropped 89 div in a t9 white map...), unique items are worthless, ubers basically non-existent, uber items are same price as super inflated Affliction prices. GGG has a ton of work to get the base game back to as good a state as it was in Crucible/Ancestor.
Nice review, thanks. I ended up skipping this league for the first time since Legion. I normally do 40/40, but this league just didn't look like the sort of thing I'd find fun. Your review pretty much reinforced that I made the right decision, hopefully next league is a bit more friendly to alch-and-go casuals like myself :)
I hate spikey damage and this was the spikiest its ever been with T17's and in map league modifers. I'm not into crafting so I was just playing an objectively harder league without any borrowed power like we usually get (eg wildwood ascendancies, weapon trees, relics). Also no borrowed power meant no fun league restricted builds, last league I had so many viable meme builds, it was a blast.
Holy shit RUclips streaming is pog af. I have premium and can not bring myself to watch vods on twitch due to the ads. I’m excited to check out more of your daily/non guide content!
My graveyard "should have" list: - Remove item level and monster type from corpses. This means only the mod differentiates the corpses, so now they can stack to 20 - Make necropolis locker hold infinite of each type like currency tab - Remove adjacency corpses due to the above. Row and Column bonuses aren't as hard to plan, I think they are fine - Design a new way to determine the item level from the craft, maybe as simple as 1 corpse per craft which says "item level 55/65/75/85" and so on - Make the graveyard a 9x9 grid without any annoying gaps - Make the craft use the ENTIRE graveyard no matter if things are touching. This makes it much easier to keep track of what you have planted so far since the different parts of the graveyard are considered different crafts until they are touching Buying/selling them is now easier, storing them is now easier, planning it is now easier. Maybe this makes it TOO easy since you can make BIS items already but ya that's my take. I made a few BIS items for myself but will never touch it again.
T17s should be rollable just like any other map. White T17s would mean that less degenerate players are getting the completion for their map device, will naturally eat up the supply by running them for fragments(which will also make ubers more accessible again), and help to curtail the loot explosions by limiting the supply as it seems most players are just selling them off to players who are using them to run those super degenerate strategies.
quit the league in the 2nd week. all my favorite super casual farming strats were removed this league. essence farming, wandering path harvest, invitation farming, all removed. i couldnt find a new strat i was happy with and didnt feel interested in trying to get to t17 farming so i just bailed.
Yeah they killed all my regular currency farming strategies. I can't seem to get any traction with anything I want to do unless I want to spend multiple hours trading.
Yeah I too quit the league 3 days in, like many of the Crafting-centered leagues before (Synthesis, Scourge, Harvest) I'm just *not* a crafter in PoE. Especially because the Mechanic is mandatory. I am OK with GGG's philosophy of "It's ok to break the game for a league and then break it in a different way next league", but where last league it felt like *everyone* had a piece of the Crazy-Pie, this time it felt *really* prohibitive. Add to that that I really don't like the way the game is balanced right now, with a lot of builds using supplementary skills that have very different mechanics, just because they have so much more damage than the actual "main" skill of the build (f.e. Fire Trap for Fire-DoT builds, like RF or Ignite FB) I didn't even realize yet how much T17 maps have pushed out the viability of farming strategies, and I think you're right: "Normies" just cannot compete with things like "80% more currency" and I really hope it gets remedied. I'll be excited for what you come up with as a T17 viable League starter, but in the back of my mind I already dread how far this build will be pushed into a corner, due to the increased "difficulty-demand" it will be up against.
from a ssf pov: t17s could use some more work. im able to clear them on ssf but they really do need to be toned down. removal of sextants and changes to scarabs are my favorite part of the whole patch, on top of the 3 atlas trees. new trans gems are always fun to see added. the constant waves of nerfs mean nothing to me because I dont base my enjoyment of the game around what makes the most money. grave crafting a bit too strong, but I wont lie its been nice in SSF. overall top 3 patches for me.
idk man I play ssf too but I hate when ssf players act like they aren't missing out on anything because of the nerfs, if anything it impacted ssf the most since people literally self farmed the items to try the strategies and then them getting nerfed immediately resulting in wasted time. FOMO is still there in SSF, specially for someone like me who spent days farming the resources to try the whole rogue exiles shenanigans and then logging back a few days later to it being deleted to the point that it's not even good to run. I wasted a few days of farming, so I just quit the league because that shit sucks.
@sepehr2371 I mean that's fair. Memes aside, not single dad with a job so I don't ever bother trying to stock up for strategies. Kinda just pick a task for the day and do that. Not super efficient but I got 3 months to do what I need to do
I like the allflame embers but the corpses and managing corpses is miserable, for mechanics like these i feel like they should just give you a gigga locker for storage thats organized and you can trade directly from. If the mechanic goes core, then they can reuse their homework and sell it as a tab later.
Hope this isn't too late, but I'm curious about what they've been doing with the story since Jonathan was saying he wanted to do better with communicating the story a while ago. Also, this is less about PoE 2 really, but I'm curious what he thought of No Rest for the Wicked since he seemed to be anticipating it in the last interview. I feel like they're going in a pretty different direction from PoE 2, but I'd just be curious to hear what he thinks of the design.
To be fair, crafting in Path of Exile was already more complex than anything I have ever experienced for a crafting system -- in ANY video game -- ever.
I've just been following recipes on craft of exile, but only crafting with about 30 corpses and getting tier 1 mods for 4/5 that I wanted, so it's not that complicated if you don't want to mid max~
The grave crafting isn’t any more complex than regular crafting. Hell, I consider it easier. Because you don’t need to worry about metamodding and the many different types of crafting (essences, fossils, harvest, etc)
Still playing, but as someone who is a mid tier farmer, I am definitely feeling the pain of this league. I have had 0 luck gy crafting(Ironically my only luck has been random yolo crafts where I made 2 120 all stat necks), even with 1/4 long time crafts, so many so that I just gave up on the league mechanic gy and all I do is sell the bigger money corpses/give my friends corpses for their crafts. Making money has been tough cause the whole trade is in a huge windfall. "Losing money" on divs dropping in price due to chaos being needed to reroll t17s is really not fun when often the natural divine was a good feeling, now it just feels like "o I could have ran a few maps and picked up all the chaos to equal that div." Farming is in a terrible place. Even in Sanctum and Afflicition where we had a lot of crazy market movements, a farmer could still make a decent penny grinding out. Now I don't even know what content to do because everything feels like it earns nothing. Beasts are literally like 10c tops, even Black Morrigan. And oils are like half as much as they usually were. Its like ever farm is pulling in 5-10c a map at most and any farm you do, if you arent doing it on a t17 map it feels like you are just losing money. But even worse than that is that if you do have a build that can do t17s relatively ok, it takes forever to clear and often requires a lot of chaos to reroll on top of the 30-100c the map costs. Suffice to say the league has been... underwhelming and my time in it has been up and down. I made a fun alch and go atlas strat that gets me ok profit and lets me run the two things I never could run which were beyond and delirium. I built out the frostblink ft build to its near limits and am still enjoying playing it. But outside of some fun. Its been a lot of patch chasing, feeling poor, and feeling weak. It feels like you need HC level tanky/dps builds to do anything t17/above and before at this point I would have felt like I am close to able to clear everything and most of what I can't do is skill issue. And its definitely killed build diversity. Where before I could mess around on a 4-5m secondary character and try something experimental, now I feel like the only way to maximize profit/progression is play one of 3 top builds.
Great video and I agree on most points. However, it would be remiss to not bring up how they butchered Betrayal. Specifically how they took out the strategy and planning that went into manipulating the Syndicate board. Now it's just all about rushing Catarina for a chance at a jackpot hit which is the Veiled Orb. The boss fight itself is so tedious to run with its many invulnerable phases. Their Betrayal rework was a huge miss IMO. Bonus points for nerfing the higher rank officer rewards when they used to give Winged Scarabs but not they give random Scarabs of that type lol.
100% right, the biggest reason I'm super down on the base game changes. I finally took the time to really learn Betrayal and was loving being able to manipulate the board, now it's all for nothing. Losing Aisling slams is horrible, the veiled orb is way too rare to make up for it, veiled chaos orbs were sweet and they're gone, and losing Vorici and Hillock also sucks. Not to mention losing the mana cost flask unveil, they straight up destroyed my favorite build with this
The game is in a horrible state ATM 1. Bossing - gone, no use of normal bosses, no challenge, pretty much no reward, the Ubers - you have to farm hard to get the rare T17 and then farm for 1.7 fragments? OMG, they made the Ubers like 10 or more times rarer and more expensive to run. 2. Another league in which you jus tneed a HH, MF gear and a 1 div bow to be the most proffitable, really cannot believe this is what someone wants the game to be; 3. The Graveyard - 100000 trades, do your craft to get your mirror team item and be happy - horrrriiiiible experience, absolute disaster; 4. T17 - 20 times rarer than guardian maps, which makes the uber farming pretty much non-existant. T17 are both the best place for juicers and the only place where the bossers can get their fragments from, ths causes very different competition b/w those 2 big groups of people for T17 maps. T17 are far harder than Ubers and the feeling to collect so much is horrible. 5. The game introduced so much unnecessary complexity with this league, this is just BAAAAAD, POE is not an easy game, I have no idea why they want to if this is what GGG wants, they can really say good buy to like 50% of their player basis, I have not idea what they are doing really, anyways, if the next league is not changing SIGNIFICANTLY what they broke, I will just start waiting for PoE2, POE1 for me is being destroyed at the moment. I am saying this fromt he perspective of a person enjoying bossing and pretty much finding this the best thing that was in the game, now the experience is horrendous and if it was not Sanctum, I would have quit the league at D3
All of the "exploit" strats for this league killed it for me.. it's impossible to follow along in the economy if you aren't setting up a whole character for a strategy and have the capital to throw into juicing maps
Quit early: 1. Overly tedious and unskippable seasonal theme 2. Frustration over being just behind enough that every exploit style farming mechanic got nerfed before I could ramp up 3. The core game enhancements are so impactful, I wanted to enjoy them, and needed to play standard to do so 4. T17s are too brutal for me to run, the skill gap there is just far too large. This league was a hard fail for me. The core game changes were in general good, but I miss the betrayal that was, as it was also my go-to mechanic at each league start, and I extremely dislike T17 maps.
3 questions for Jonathan: 1. Chris said his goal was to have a viable minimum number of players. He used to say 10 000. Is PoE2 developed with a similar mentality? And if so, where's the number at in 2024? 2. Streamers and RUclipsrs are basically free advertising for a game like PoE, and given an entrenched player base for PoE 1, PoE 2 seems like it won't need much marketing. That all being said, how happy is GGG's marketing department with their ad budget for PoE 2? 3. If Chris or Mark came to you ans said "we HAVE TO remove something from PoE and we're leaving the decision to you", what would you remove from PoE 1? it can be a league mechanic, it can be unique, a skill or support gem, a jewel or jewel type. It can be anything as long as something get's removed. What's the one thing Jonathan Rogers would like to see removed from PoE?
Overall the scarab changes are Awesome and over time balance will settle in. The idea of extra hard maps for ubers is great, but those should not have currency/pack size/scarab/whatever multiplier attached to it. They should be similar to Elder/Conqueror maps, but harder. Having the boss drops/witnesses should be enough. Not sure about 5th map slot as it is a once thing. I like my crappy builds, and I do not need a higher build floor.
I have an atlas tree set up specifically for scarabs. And one for the coffins. I get twice as many scarabs running my coffin tree than I do running my scarab tree.
Being able to experience IN THE GAME the kind of perfect gear that in other leagues you would have pob to just see a number of how powerful it would be is the coolest thing to me. If this was the only league in poe history that gives us this level of power so easily, I would not complain at all. The process sucks though lol
I stuck it out until now but have been pretty casual. Now the economy has collapsed with all the mentioned no life farming so I'm done. Pretty disappointed by this league tbh
ive been having fun this league trying out all the new farming strats. The downside is knowing that there are people making in a single t17 map what I am making in a whole week farming t16s.
6:40 if anybody else is wondering what those atlas points are for getting all div cards from your favorite maps. It's the curation scarab not atlas points.
I've really loved the grave crafting, especially being able to make fractured influences and all the stuff with awakener orbs you can do further with that, but I wasn't enjoying the t17 farming as much so I mostly just made rares for my own build and one friends build that I knew I would probably never make again and am now probably about done with the league. I do think the grave crafting is really good for being able to get your own gear and am probably trying a private league with a group of friends for a more mapping focused experience without the trade related fomo/worries that this league has brought on.
It's kind of interesting with the lower tier grave crafts (non fractured/influenced/etc) since with the prices of the 'extra craft' mods, you pretty much NEED to be using other very high price crafts (multi fractured, etc) for it to be worth it. If I'm aiming for a 6 T1 craft (done 2 so far: with tri-ele, double crit, atkspd claw and a triple defences, chaos res, double ele res 6 link chest) and in both cases it would have costed more to get the extra craft mods than just to go and buy up the cheap stuff and craft it again (when you can fill an entire 70-80 graves with cheap stuff vs 1 extra craft slot that costed 250 chaos, haven't checked the price in the past few days) It also simplifies the management of rows/columns/extra rates (save them for rarer ones to boost up like gems, and for if you ever do want to do a big craft where you'll be using dozens of them)
I got 2 stones, but I think I'm going to give up. Can't farm t17s, can't afford to change to a build that can, and I don't want to spend multiple hours trading to be able to run maps.
Its been fkn weird, man. League started my mana stacker like I have for 3 leagues now, but then Indigon was nigh impossible to get for someone playing less than 40hrs a week. Pivoted to Boneshatter, did some delving to ignore the shitshow that was maps, had my usual fun, but I play leagues for fresh content, you know? Tried getting into T17s, but got completely annihilated any time I tried, even after dropping 50-100c rerolling them. Overall a D tier league, but I'm hopeful that the changes will shake out into a fun 3.25, and maybe they'll even fix melee. 🤞🏻
Still keep trying to play the league, but I don't get a lot of hours in. Have noticed tho last few times I get on it's like a really get absolutely nothing out of maps. Hard running t16 100% deli maps and walking out feeling like you just finished a t1.
Can you push for animate guardian to not lose the gear on death? Either you can’t afford to replace it and quit the league or you can and it’s super annoying.
Not your thing, but casual SSF has been miserable. You're not building up enough scarabs to make the overpowered stuff usable before it got nerfed (which I get for trade, but it felt super bad. Hey I've found 4 of the good scarabs, let's set them up and grind them out on the weekend. Next day, nerfed to the ground...) and you can't just go out and drop 20d on corpses, so you're either running grave crafts that you know are often very sub optimal _now_ or farming for another 20 hours on the off chance you might find something that gives you a marginally better chance, because let's be real, you're not gonna just pick up a perfect graveyard. As far as the Atlas goes, I fully agree with you. I'd usually hyperfocus on 2 or 3 league mechanics until I gathered enough stuff and was able to respec, the 3 trees are great for that, but if you already have to use most of your atlas for the current league mechanic already, how am I supposed to for example grind out a couple hundred essences or blight without totally gimping my progress on the main league mechanic. Add to that, that some maps are clearly better for some mechanics, like volcano for essences for example and it felt like a lot of agency had been taken away. Veiled Chaos (no matter the retooling, just the Katarina drop rates) were a drag and I still didn't have my 5 slot map device by the time I gave up on the league because even with a completed atlas and comfortably farming T16s, T17 mobs would one-shot me.
interview question(s): How confident are they that the beta will start this year and how much new stuff are they still adding until then as opposed to polishing what's there, being that lack of polish was cited as the reason for the delay?
Really good points bro. Overall I’m still enjoying the league as a casual dad. I still have about three more builds I wanna play before I call this on a wrap. The additions to the base game makes this league a win for me. GGG is on fire with these leagues. Not a fan of Sanctum, but the league was good, again due to base changes. Thanks for the great vids. Definitely helped me out a ton.
@subtractem I am a beginner in POE and nearly 40 years old. I love this game however whenever I feel learn something they are adding or changing. I love this kind of video. They help people like me a lot. I don't have a time like young people because of family and working full time. Any way love the video and hope I will see more vidio like this to learn more about the game. Thanks
I think the high level scarabs should combine the lower scarb affects, so there is a divide between high level and low level juicing for each mechanic.
The real pain for scarabs vs sextants is the shift of a lot of the power the atlas tree provided to certain content types towards scarabs makes it so if you did want to just set up your atlas tree and blast maps...you're forced to dick around with scarabs. Which is an additional layer of chore I just am not tolerant of when it comes to something I'm doing for fun.
I've been playing this game since open beta in 2012. I have many thousands of hours played. The game is just too complicated. I feel like the whole thing is a chore. I hope PoE 2 simplifies things. Last Epoch and No Rest for the Wicked feel so refreshing right now to me.
Suggestion to solve the "league of clicking problem": prospero's wager + fear of the light. All the corpses are secret, no allflame embers. Every now and then you go and dump everything in the ground for your projects. No selling, almost no buying. Prospero's wager offers better corpses and you cannot trade them anymore. For me it is a win (no friction) - win (better corpses)
How would you feel if t17 loot was still kept high, the dificulty reduced substantially (maybe make them fully modifiable?), but they were made untradeable? As said in interviews, GGG has put a lot of effort into adjusting the drop rates on t17s so they are accessable to everyone. I think knowing nobody can blast constant t17s, and that even the highest level juicers still have to run mostly t16s would reduce fomo. Adding the ability for a casual(er) player to run simple white t17s keeps the content accessable, without the fear that you would be better off just selling the map.
Started a week-ish late (when they buffed gravecrafting, don't remember when that was exactly). It might just be my favorite league. I'm the sort of person that's picked up a lot of understanding of the game over the years but has only a middling amount of time to play. Gravecrafting being as, frankly, broken as it is means I feel like I'm actually making progress that warrants the time I'm putting in. I've made some things in the last few weeks mostly self-farming corpses that are better than anything I've had the resources to make in the last several years combined. There's 0 chance it goes core, as far as I'm concerned, and I'm probably one of very few people who will miss it when it's gone.
I love the idea of it but its way too big. If they cut graves in half and doubled the effects it would be way more popular. Also the corpses not stacking making trading take hours...
@@coololi07 if the trading takes hours then just farm them. It's pretty easy to do and you can trade for stuff later. I get they should be tradable in multiples but if trade is tedious you really don't have to trade for them.
@@1123elemental farming specific corpses if you get lucky to compete a craft that you will ", eventually " finish while the place holds 64 corpses n the graveyard itself holds 80 plus, the entire stupid mechanic is a slog. The time invested just isn't worth it
TBF, not all crafts require 88 corpses depending on what you want to craft - min-maxers might have to go through that but decent t1 stuff that is not super ultra special can go with half a graveyard
Kinda figured T17 maps would be for a handful of mirror tier builds when they were announced. It's a shame that league after league there are only a few skills/ascendencies that can be pushed into the hardest content because every other skill has garbage numbers or has been nerfed into non-existence.
Nice points about the league. I like to teach new players the ropes of PoE when they get started and this league has been a wild ride for me as well. I absolutely hated the first few days of the League but I've grown to like it enough to finish 40/40. 36/40 (ALMOST THERE!) But some of these newer players I've been helping out since either last league or the league before that have expressed disinterest in this league because of how complex it is for them or how tedious or frustrating it is. I like to see Leagues out to the end which is 40/40, one minmaxxed character to the best of my ability, and usually all Ubers with one chase item acquired from at least one of them. I enjoy crafting and making cool items but I can't wait to be done with the League so the headache of managing my corpses and allflames goes away lol
I didn't do a single graveyard craft and I stopped picking up league related content like 2 weeks in. The only thing I actually picked up were the rat/meatsack/frog allflames. I really enjoyed the league in spite of the league mechanic, but I did stop playing earlier than normal. Just didn't feel worth it anymore once the economic dust settled and I realized running t16s, even with scarabs, was like picking up cans on the side of the road while people zoomed by in their gold plated Hummers. Like do I really want to farm for 10 hours to get a build online when I could be dropping 50-100 divines a map?
I'm playing necropolis but am barely doing any graveyard stuff. The all flames are nice, but I feel like graveyard crafting is a lot of work and I never get anything worth using. I also feel like this league is sort of a "grand finale" of POE before they drop POE2, which would explain why there is just SO much going on.
The changes and league mechanic (which I hate) make SSF Andy’s like me happy. The t17/Uber change/Uber drop changes mean I’ll never be able to do any of them on my limited time and not meta builds.
This game is so not noob friendly its actually incredible. Had fun at the beginning but its getting so complex and you have to run such specific builds with specific stats to go late game its demoralising.
The most important question for the interview, and something a lof of people are wondering about: Melee. I understand that this will be a PoE 2 interview, but every time someone asks GGG about melee, PoE 2 is the answer. When is someone going to ask them what they are planning to do in PoE 1 to improve melee, or can we just rest knowing that serious improvements will never come?
I started playing last league and while I've mostly enjoyed myself, this game is incredibly tedious. Astronomically tedious. It physically hurts me to play for more than an hour or so. I genuinely hope they reconsider their stance on inventory management needing to have so much "friction" and "weight" because this is bonkers.
for me is not the fomo, i dont want to kill 5000 rogues on t17, is the fact that every other money making currency is worthless, i was pretty happy league starting betrayal for 5 leagues in a row, this one that should have "solved" it is the worse betrayal has ever been, essences too, harvest, legion, abyss, everything is worthless. GGG should end the group play iiq/iir bonus so everyone can have an smoth leagu start
The Jonathan PoE 2 Interview will be on: Monday the 29th at 2pm PDT
Awesome! Make sure you put out a short RUclips video about it because people will be hyped.
Are you going to enjoy wasd-movement? I'm hyped for it tbh
Why’d you ban me Bro?
havent seen a single divine allflame the entire league
Only saw one before the nerf
there are no divine allflames. you get it as a modifier not as a pack replacement.
@@kliersheed Maybe he is talking about the currency spewing one?
I quit after 2340ish t16s and never saw the divine either. Only saw chaos maybe 5/6 times too. Seer twice
I'm still saving the very first meatsack allflame I got for it, it's got to happen soon, right?
it's the first league I've quit early.
Same thing. Didn't feel it. Not necessarly a bad league, just that I needed a break. Will be back for next leagues :)!
GGG pushes new players with its overwhelming mechanics, now with this league, it even pushes casual players away from the game.

GGG acts like they are but drops and challenges that are gated by them definitely tell a different story.
why aren't challenges/drops aspirational? I'm not a boomer but the challenges aren't exactly a participation trophy.
("you juice too much" "that's what happens if you put 4 scarabs + sextants + map mission + invitation...you're doing this to yourself") ... well, now the visual clarity is a mess even if you run them without anything extra...random shaper beams, Maven permanently following you putting stuff around, bombardments of volatile explosions when you kill a mob which follow you everywhere, petri statues...and that is a big issue when you have barely noticeable attacks that can 1shot even characters with super high defenses (see Alkaizer's Jugg...survived Awakener's meteor barely losing any health, one of the strongest attacks in the game that has a 6-7 seconds telegraphed animation...only to die to a Detonate Dead from a random mob in a random map)
If i had to pull a number out of my ass, the gap between 16s and 17s feels as big as the one you get going from mid yellow maps into high red maps, and some of the modifiers on these things are just insane, reason why "decently rolled T17s" are selling for 3 to 10 divines if not more...i spend an average of 40 to 50 chaos just to make the map runnable..
To your alch and go point: I think part of the problem is this:
You are incentivized to go hard into a strat.
"put mechanic on map" scarabs are only useful for rolling into new random scarabs
Yeah it's weird how those rusted scarabs just add the mechanic to the map when you can get it guaranteed in your map regardless.
@CajunGator Try last epoch if you didnt it is a good middle ground
Also T17 maps are harder than many uber bosses which makes no sense.

Your build guides have made the growing pains of this league all worth it.
I am doing the same exact thing. I want to play the game right now but the market is such a mess that I don’t see any point in really participating in the league anymore. I am working towards next league to find a league starter that can do t17s
I really don't see any reason why items such as allfames and coffis, if they are of the same type and ilvl, why can't they stack just like incubators do
Because they need to sell stash tab for this next league if league go in core game
I've also thought this league was Kalandra 2.0, increased difficulty and less rewarding except for the top juicers, and even more annoying with the lantern menu every map and corpses cluttering up the screen
playing this league without anything corpse related. so much better
Big same, ever since I stopped interacting with the grave I’ve actually been excited to login to Poe and blast t17. Grave is trash
The fact that the mechanic itself is trash ,you might as well play standard
The damage those strats caused is a drop in the bucket
@@SWTORDREKKIN It's not nearly as bad this usually. You didn't need to type all that.

As a casual, the tiresome unavoidable mechanic just repelled me.
i used your league start, couldnt handle T17s bosses, then tried zoomancer, same thing happened.
T17s are absurdly difficult especially with b2b.
Quit early :(. It was a rough one. Wayyyyyy too many changes, patches, etc. that it became very demotivating and overwhelming. Thanks for the awesome recap. I am sure the scarab change will settle as people get a good sense of each type and its benefits.
same thing for me, too many changes, hotfixes/hotnerfs, too much "exploit early, exploit often"
endgame was fine, scarab-based stuffs were awesome, league crafting kinda good. but they basically nerfed invitation farms. that one was my favourite. hh is 10 divs and mb is 100 divs. they are not chase items anymore. there is no point to farm them. i got 3 mb (one of them was drop and the others were gamble) in week one. that wasn't funny at all, i am serious. after all of that, i started ssf in week 2. regular bosses are not good to farm anything. i've got maven more than 15-20 times, and never got one awakened gem. idk you guys, but for me, it was worst league ever. i've been playing this game since 3.13 (expedition)

I think this league they definitely chew more than they could, changed too much stuff around and the league didn't land at all
The drawing point for me that caused me to quit the league was when i spent an hour just trying to get 8 sets of scarabs and no one on trade wanted to trade, and the ones that were willing to were about 2x the normal price of scarabs. I spent more time trying to trade then I did running 8 maps...honestly if this is the direction that GGG wants to head towards I dont think i want to be apart of it. This is not mentioning the other underlying issues like FOMO of farming t17s, alch and go is essentially dead, bossing doesnt feel great anymore...
yea bruv scarab stuff is literally every league ever

My problem with the current Scarab situation is that there is so much gatekeeping and solo players are priced out completely from certain scarabs. It’s gonna push a lot of people into group play and those that don’t want to play in a group are gonna be pushed into out of map league starts like Sanctum.
Learn to be a hideout warrior. You won't know what to do with all the currency you generate.
This league just made me realize how I enjoy LE crafting so much more than Poe

Typical GGG overtuning their game to high heaven
Then telling us to "Deal with it"
Here is a question i would like to hear answered by Jonathan.
I enjoy the graveyard crafting but I do agree it is overly complex. A first good step would be to remove corpse types.
Towards the end of the league I said to myself "bring on the next [poverty] league, can't wait for "normal" mapping to be the endgame again."
Little did I know that T17s would be far worse and far more restrictive than stacking every juicing mechanic possible in Affliction.
+1, I was honestly looking forward to "poverty league"..
So glad to see an upload from you! Really excited for the upcoming interview as well :)
My graveyard "should have" list:
- Remove item level and monster type from corpses. This means only the mod differentiates the corpses, so now they can stack to 20
- Make necropolis locker hold infinite of each type like currency tab
- Remove adjacency corpses due to the above. Row and Column bonuses aren't as hard to plan, I think they are fine
- Design a new way to determine the item level from the craft, maybe as simple as 1 corpse per craft which says "item level 55/65/75/85" and so on
- Make the graveyard a 9x9 grid without any annoying gaps
- Make the craft use the ENTIRE graveyard no matter if things are touching. This makes it much easier to keep track of what you have planted so far since the different parts of the graveyard are considered different crafts until they are touching
Buying/selling them is now easier, storing them is now easier, planning it is now easier. Maybe this makes it TOO easy since you can make BIS items already but ya that's my take. I made a few BIS items for myself but will never touch it again.
T17s should be rollable just like any other map. White T17s would mean that less degenerate players are getting the completion for their map device, will naturally eat up the supply by running them for fragments(which will also make ubers more accessible again), and help to curtail the loot explosions by limiting the supply as it seems most players are just selling them off to players who are using them to run those super degenerate strategies.
i quit early, wasnt feeling it and i dont craft so easy exit for me
quit the league in the 2nd week. all my favorite super casual farming strats were removed this league. essence farming, wandering path harvest, invitation farming, all removed. i couldnt find a new strat i was happy with and didnt feel interested in trying to get to t17 farming so i just bailed.
Yeah they killed all my regular currency farming strategies. I can't seem to get any traction with anything I want to do unless I want to spend multiple hours trading.
if this is the direction they're going, maybe its time to find other games for me to enjoy.
Yuuuup
Fire Trap for Fire-DoT builds, like RF or Ignite FB)
I didn't even realize yet how much T17 maps have pushed out the viability of farming strategies, and I think you're right: "Normies" just cannot compete with things like "80% more currency" and I really hope it gets remedied.
I'll be excited for what you come up with as a T17 viable League starter, but in the back of my mind I already dread how far this build will be pushed into a corner, due to the increased "difficulty-demand" it will be up against.
from a ssf pov:
t17s could use some more work. im able to clear them on ssf but they really do need to be toned down.
removal of sextants and changes to scarabs are my favorite part of the whole patch, on top of the 3 atlas trees.
new trans gems are always fun to see added.
the constant waves of nerfs mean nothing to me because I dont base my enjoyment of the game around what makes the most money.
grave crafting a bit too strong, but I wont lie its been nice in SSF.
overall top 3 patches for me.
Agree with this. T17s are booty and need adjustments. Scarab changes are 10/10.
idk man I play ssf too but I hate when ssf players act like they aren't missing out on anything because of the nerfs, if anything it impacted ssf the most since people literally self farmed the items to try the strategies and then them getting nerfed immediately resulting in wasted time.

Deterministic crafting: EXCELLENT! Make more of it!
Stupidly complex deterministic crafting: Absolute bullshit, get rid of the insane complexity.
To be fair, crafting in Path of Exile was already more complex than anything I have ever experienced for a crafting system -- in ANY video game -- ever.
But it's not stupidly complex tho, it can be tedious if you want to optimize it but it's fairly simple if you understand how items mods work in poe.
I've just been following recipes on craft of exile, but only crafting with about 30 corpses and getting tier 1 mods for 4/5 that I wanted, so it's not that complicated if you don't want to mid max~
u pretty much need craftofexile to even use it
The grave crafting isn’t any more complex than regular crafting.
Not to mention losing the mana cost flask unveil, they straight up destroyed my favorite build with this
@@etrosknight2254 Same. Never understood it but saw patch changes and thought "this is my league to solve a mystery", PoE devs "chuckle"
The game is in a horrible state ATM
1. Bossing - gone, no use of normal bosses, no challenge, pretty much no reward, the Ubers - you have to farm hard to get the rare T17 and then farm for 1.7 fragments? OMG, they made the Ubers like 10 or more times rarer and more expensive to run.
2. Another league in which you jus tneed a HH, MF gear and a 1 div bow to be the most proffitable, really cannot believe this is what someone wants the game to be;
3. The Graveyard - 100000 trades, do your craft to get your mirror team item and be happy - horrrriiiiible experience, absolute disaster;
5. The game introduced so much unnecessary complexity with this league, this is just BAAAAAD, POE is not an easy game, I have no idea why they want to
if this is what GGG wants, they can really say good buy to like 50% of their player basis, I have not idea what they are doing really, anyways, if the next league is not changing SIGNIFICANTLY what they broke, I will just start waiting for PoE2, POE1 for me is being destroyed at the moment. I am saying this fromt he perspective of a person enjoying bossing and pretty much finding this the best thing that was in the game, now the experience is horrendous and if it was not Sanctum, I would have quit the league at D3
The endgame feels very Pay2Play now but in game currency. So much junk you need to get to where you wanna go each time.
Getting 500 lootbeams in a single map should never be a thing, it's out of control.
All of the "exploit" strats for this league killed it for me.. it's impossible to follow along in the economy if you aren't setting up a whole character for a strategy and have the capital to throw into juicing maps
They use to say, "All builds do not need to be viable", but with T17's I think GGG has responsibility to make most every build viable.
Quit early:
1. Overly tedious and unskippable seasonal theme
2. Frustration over being just behind enough that every exploit style farming mechanic got nerfed before I could ramp up
3. The core game enhancements are so impactful, I wanted to enjoy them, and needed to play standard to do so
4. T17s are too brutal for me to run, the skill gap there is just far too large.
This league was a hard fail for me. The core game changes were in general good, but I miss the betrayal that was, as it was also my go-to mechanic at each league start, and I extremely dislike T17 maps.
3 questions for Jonathan:
Yeah, I didn't want to spend hours trying to buy scarab so I set up a tree targeting scarabs and it seems like the drop rate never changed.
If I'm aiming for a 6 T1 craft (done 2 so far: with tri-ele, double crit, atkspd claw and a triple defences, chaos res, double ele res 6 link chest) and in both cases it would have costed more to get the extra craft mods than just to go and buy up the cheap stuff and craft it again (when you can fill an entire 70-80 graves with cheap stuff vs 1 extra craft slot that costed 250 chaos, haven't checked the price in the past few days)
It also simplifies the management of rows/columns/extra rates (save them for rarer ones to boost up like gems, and for if you ever do want to do a big craft where you'll be using dozens of them)
This league dog shit for me as a casual. Did not even bother with getting 2 stones.
After playing all of the other games in my library, coming back to this game feels like punishing myself with unnecessary complexity and anger.
Veiled Chaos (no matter the retooling, just the Katarina drop rates) were a drag and I still didn't have my 5 slot map device by the time I gave up on the league because even with a completed atlas and comfortably farming T16s, T17 mobs would one-shot me.
interview question(s):
How confident are they that the beta will start this year and how much new stuff are they still adding until then as opposed to polishing what's there, being that lack of polish was cited as the reason for the delay?
Thanks
ah, the first few days of Harvest league....
Last Epoch and No Rest for the Wicked feel so refreshing right now to me.
this was probably my least favorite league that I can remember. MAYBE Kalandra was worse for me. I basically have been playing on Standard instead.
I didn’t play this league just been messing around in standard. Back to basics has reignited my love for the game though.
Kinda figured T17 maps would be for a handful of mirror tier builds when they were announced. It's a shame that league after league there are only a few skills/ascendencies that can be pushed into the hardest content because every other skill has garbage numbers or has been nerfed into non-existence.
I'm having fun with the game but the corpses are very annoying. They need to be stackable. And possibly hidable through an item filter
Nice points about the league. I like to teach new players the ropes of PoE when they get started and this league has been a wild ride for me as well. I absolutely hated the first few days of the League but I've grown to like it enough to finish 40/40. 36/40 (ALMOST THERE!)
But some of these newer players I've been helping out since either last league or the league before that have expressed disinterest in this league because of how complex it is for them or how tedious or frustrating it is.
I love that chaotic nature of this league. It's been a rollercoaster and I was able to get my first HH. Big win for casual dads 🤣
