Can't get over the fact that Leia and Luke are more interested and fascinated with Vader than with Anakin. I guess he does give off more dad vibes with how awkward and serious he is
He's also far more in control of his emotions and is very mature compared to his past self, especially due to his trauma and suffering he constantly suffers from.
The fact that Vader showed a lot more maturity than his past self did is pretty jarring, but i suppose all that-… ahem, “anger management” allowed him to grow as a person.
I feel like not enough people are talking about how well-written that scene was. It feels so cathartic for Vader to see the family he could have had, with Obi-Wan, Ahsoka, Padme, and Luke and Leia all there. It hurts to think about how Vader missed all of those little things because of what he did, and now he sees what he missed out on. And if things had ended up just a bit differently, Anakin would be in the same shoes. And him finally realizing the truth in this had to have shaken him, because normally he would have some sassy, wild joke ready in response, but instead he just kinda takes in and accepts what Vader's telling him and agrees not to kill children anymore. There was always an irrational worry in the back of my mind that Anakin would still end up becoming Vader somehow, but I think since he's finally willing to work on himself and take the existence of Vader seriously, that he won't end up like him. At least, that's what I hope. I honestly wasn't expecting character growth for Anakin like this, since, for a while, the whole "killing kids" thing seemed to be Anakin's whole shtick, but thankfully he grew up and realized how wrong that was.
