Wow!!!! The maple board with that sunburst is gorgeous! Brandon always on point with the specs and history. Lemmo, I could watch and listen to you play all day, buddy. And Jen....without you Guitar of the Day doesn't exist, you are a rock star!
Lemmo is such a great player, like how he kept the loop rolling on the outro. Also thanks too Jen and Brandon. Keep up the great video’s. A new standard in video excellence.
15 years old I used to listen to Deep Purple 8 track tape playing Smoke On The Water driving my 67 Volkswagen Herbie beetle look alike with the sunroof opened windows down and the speakers rockin. Never dreamed I would hear a guy from Philly out in California playing it over the internet on a 58 model strat with Jen videoing it. Thanks for the memories. Y’all Rock.
With all due respect for Lemmo and his obviously sublime qualities as a musician and allround funny guy, Brandon's spec check had raised the quality of these videos significantly, so thank you, and please keep it going!
Had the privilege of buying my first guitar from Norman’s a few weeks ago and my experience was nothing but excellent! Went in there looking to buy a Fender Jazz bass, walked out with a Fender American Original 50’s Strat! Brandon was great definitely knows his stuff! Will definitely be going back to get my dream bass. In the mean time definitely enjoying my new Strat! The sound of this guitar is simply amazing! If anyone is looking to buy their next guitar/bass don’t hesitate you will not be disappointed.
I love having Brandon on board! He knows his specs and he's a player, too!! Michael ..don't know who noticed, but when you were doing the Blackmore thing...I saw your thumb free of the neck, just like Ritchie did! Man ..you just keep getting better.
Mannnmm, I’ve been working 16 days straight and just pulled a double, you guys have no idea how much I appreciate seeing this strat in my notifications 🔥
Yes, THANK YOU JEN! You are a huge part of why Norm's store and this channel are so important, as well as enjoyable. If it weren't for you, we wouldn't hear Lemmo play, we wouldn't get Brandon's spec checks, and we wouldn't get to witness all these beautiful pieces of musical history. One of the best decisions Norm ever made was hiring you!
Wow Great GOTD. A beautiful Strat, spec check ✔️, Jen's great camera work and Michael just killing it on the Strat. What a beautiful looking and sounding guitar!!!! Love Straterday ❤️
Bought a cool fretless bass from you guys earlier today! Thank you Brandon, Michael, Masa, and of course Norm and the rest of the staff for an awesome experience!
With people going through tough times all over the world, Normans Rare Guitars has been helping people get through those times, ie The Midnight Mission, The Cruise, GOTD, special guests; Your videos have personally helped me and I thank you all at the shop!
Beautiful teamwork your videos. Bravo to Gen, Michael and Brandon! Power trio. I loved your videos for a long time. I live in Quebec, Canada. thank you! :)
Great guitar info Brandon and Great guitar playing Lemmo! and with Jen steering the ship, you have a great team! Thank you for an awesome #guitaroftheday
Fantastic playing as usual from Lemmo on an amazing example of an early Strat. When "Smoke on the Water" kicked in I was instantly back in all the guitar shops in London's Denmark Street, where if you even thought about playing that riff in the store, you were shown the door. It used to drive the guy's working in the place nuts. However, if Lemmo was playing it, their jaws would have been on the floor, his arrangement around the riff was remarkable.
Thats a great sounding guitar. Great specs, great playing and great video. You three make an excellent team. Thank you for sharing. Love the shirt Lemmo.
What an absolutely beautiful 1958 strat and in such great condition! It is my favorite looking strat with 3 tone burst and maple fretboard. It looks just like one of the strats that i had when I was a kid that got stolen, except that one wasn't a 58. This one sounds amazing too! Wow it would be so cool to have a 58 strat that looks so amazing and sounds so great that is actually a bit older than me and looks just like the strat I had that got stolen. Truly an amazing guitar!
I don't own a guitar, but my guess is that it's because Fender didn't want you to install the plate on the wrong way (which would be possible if the screw holes were lined up).
After working all day nothing like coming home and watching these great videos shot by Jen , geeked out specs by Brandon and damn you know your stuff. Then we get the Lemmo either shredding, looping, or just kicking butt on that guitar. What a great way to end the day. Now I’ll go grab a guitar and play !!! Love u guys 😎
Oh be still my heart ❤️. So close to my dream guitar the 59. That 58 is in absolutely primo condition. I could live with it since I’m not a fan of relics and love 💗 a Strat in really good condition. It sounds amazing and doesn’t look like it’s hardly ever been played. Wow! 👍☮️🌞🎸💖
Thanks to everyone at GOTD for the constant stream of videos and information on these beautiful instruments. They are the first thing I look for on you tube when I switch on my devise. Question…is there anybody there who plays left handed to demonstrate the guitars you have in stock or is Lemmo an even more talented and capable guitarist than we are aware of? Good wishes to Norm on a speedy recovery…keep rocking
I sold Norm my 1958 Fender Stratocaster in February of 2021 and it was featured on this channel. I’m not going to lie, I miss it a bunch but Norm was fantastic to deal with and I wouldn’t hesitate to buy from or sell to him again!
Just proves if it ain’t broke no need to fix it this strat is epic! a true iconic legend 🎸🇬🇧 and legendary playing Lemmo x legendary spec check Brandon and legendary filming thank you Jen and thank you guys x sending huge love across the pond ❤️🇬🇧🎸🇬🇧❤️ and lots of love to Norm and and his family love seeing you back in the store but we need more love to you Norm x❤️🇬🇧🎸❤️
Ha when Michael “messes up” he’s the only one who notices. Now when I mess up things go off the rails and faces start to distort around me. LOL Sweet Strat, sweet playing, great videos, and always great fun. Thanks all!
Anything 50s in strats just gets me weak at the knees, love the spec run through from Brandon, Lemmo is just the luckiest to play these guitars but when you’re that good who better and Jen great editing as usual you the bomb 😛
Cherry sunburst WITH a maple neck. Except a few anomalies in 1959, you would not see a Fender maple neck again until around 1972. This guitar was featured on The Ventures second album, by the way. Those notch positions were kept secret until Clapton let the sound out of the bag in Guitar Player Mag, in the early '70s ... Jimmy Amerson of Jacksonville discovered it in the early '60s ... This is one super clean version. Wow. This gotta be one from Norm's collection ...
I usually piss and moan about the some of the Amp selections. Not today!!!! Man, does that combo work. Lemmo, a 58' strat and a vintage Fender Amp. Truly guitar ecstasy.
My birthday is tomorrow on the 7th and my wish is for Norms health to get better than ever. Someday I really wish I could travel to his store to shake his hand.
As usual some great licks from Michael. I guess the unwritten rule about not playing “Smoke On The Water” in a guitar shop doesn’t apply to employees especially ones as skilled as Lemmo. A cool interpretation of the classic guitar riff by Michael.
Lemmo lettin those strings flow Comment below Hope I can win from watching this show It’s Saturday Ain’t no better day To hang out with the Norms crew As the gang lets out all the stellar guitar voodoo I can’t wait for Tele Tuesday’s That for sure if my favorite day I mean what else can I say But to say that I hope one day I can afford one of them fancy guitars from Norm’s and make it my mainstay See y’all on Monday ✌🏾
I love this new format. Love the Brandon official spec check and Lemmo's playing. What a deadly combination. Keep this up!!!

@@tipplers3417 yea, it was a rite of passage in the 70s!
Man you weren't kidding when you said it sounded huge ...DAYUM LEMMO that was killer !!! Thanks Jen and Brandon !!!
Every GOTD is a great day. Thanks Jen, Brandon, Michael.
With all due respect for Lemmo and his obviously sublime qualities as a musician and allround funny guy, Brandon's spec check had raised the quality of these videos significantly, so thank you, and please keep it going!
That ‘58 Strat is an absolute ticket to tone town! Amazing guitar!

Gotta love ‘58! My birth year… 64 years of rocking. Thanks NRG Team for honoring a classic… somehow makes me feel less ‘Vintage’..😂
Smokin Mr Lemmo.. Man you are something else. Thank you.
That may be one of the best sounding guitars that has been on guitar of the day in quite some time or maybe it's just Michael's playing I don't know🤘
Mannnmm, I’ve been working 16 days straight and just pulled a double, you guys have no idea how much I appreciate seeing this strat in my notifications 🔥
Blimey.. surely you can afford to buy this guitar now 🤣
Absolutely love the spec checks please keep up the good work

That is a super cool demo of my dream guitar, love the work (and the love) you guys put into these videos.
Very tasteful playing on that neck pickup. Michael! Beautiful Strat!
With people going through tough times all over the world, Normans Rare Guitars has been helping people get through those times, ie The Midnight Mission, The Cruise, GOTD, special guests; Your videos have personally helped me and I thank you all at the shop!
Those skewed screws! Now i'll be up all night thinking about that. Great show Jen, Brandon, and Michael. Peace and love.
Jen, Michael, Brandon. Trifecta. Education and entertainment accompanied by excellent camera work. Norm knows talent!
The 1958 fender stratocaster is a fantastic instrument happy stratuday
To see and hear a relic in action is absolutely beautiful. Keep up with finding all these amazing guitars!
Beautiful teamwork your videos. Bravo to Gen, Michael and Brandon!
Power trio. I loved your videos for a long time. I live in Quebec, Canada. thank you! :)
8:15 is a classic Lemmo lick/finger tone! been watching GOTD for 2 or 3 years now. A constant source of joy in my life!

Michael, Jen and Brandon never disappoint.
This is perfect Pefect history of guitar from Brandon, Lemmos crazy good playing and the top production work of Jen What a trio !
That is a beautiful example of that model. I think Lemmo’s benefactor needs to buy this one for him.

Omg, that neck pickup 😮😮

You guys are doing a great Job with this new format! Suggest that you do at least one song from the year of the guitar. That would be special.
Just love this guitar
Loved that ‘Toke On The Water’ rendition. Brilliant.
That lead part starting at about 7 minutes. 30 seconds is freaking awesome

Brandon giving me major Mark vibes and I dig it. GOTD needs this, more education for the people!!!
10:27 forbidden riff, Mikey 🫢🫣😬
Nice. Had a 74 HT. 3 s types.
This, same year my Wife was born.
I dig it ;)
Grabbing my git after this 🔥 demo!
Dide U r a Great player!!
Another fantastic Lemmo Demo. Love Smoke On The Water.
OMG! Lemmo unchained on A 58 Sunburst Strat! Norm will be smiling when he watches this video!
I usually piss and moan about the some of the Amp selections. Not today!!!! Man, does that combo work. Lemmo, a 58' strat and a vintage Fender Amp. Truly guitar ecstasy.
Middle strat pickup is way too underrated
Yes indeed. Robert cray please.
Stray Strat Strut!😆🎸🐈
I think they need to give Brandon a camera so they can cut in some b roll of Jenn filming Lemmo.
Wow, what incredible condition for a '58.
My birthday is tomorrow on the 7th and my wish is for Norms health to get better than ever. Someday I really wish I could travel to his store to shake his hand.
Sweet..........................................nice
The best strats are 1953 prototypes, 1954, 1955, 1958
There is a special sauce used in 50's strats.... put one in my casket so I can battle the devil at the crossroads...
outfreakinstanding
That balancing of the switch is supposedly how Clapton's sound came to be.
As usual some great licks from Michael. I guess the unwritten rule about not playing “Smoke On The Water” in a guitar shop doesn’t apply to employees especially ones as skilled as Lemmo. A cool interpretation of the classic guitar riff by Michael.
Lemmo lettin those strings flow

Hope I can win from watching this show
It’s Saturday
Ain’t no better day
To hang out with the Norms crew
As the gang lets out all the stellar guitar voodoo
I can’t wait for Tele Tuesday’s
That for sure if my favorite day
I mean what else can I say
But to say that I hope one day
I can afford one of them fancy guitars from Norm’s and make it my mainstay
See y’all on Monday
✌🏾
YA Lemmo !!!!
Regarding the offset backplate screws, that’s one of the ways to identify a real Strat. Fakes always miss that detail.
