I’ve raised a lot of children since the update and none and I MEAN NONE have died once in my care. Sometimes I even sacrificed myself so I could save them. I always follow them around, even tell them the “rules of the nest”. Even when coming across 2 rexes I managed to protect my children by being brave and cold blooded while speaking in chat to try and formulate peace between the rexes and me even making promises like “I will hunt for you, you won’t break a sweat just keep the peace between us and let my children be safe around you.”

It's funny when I made all my dinos in the past 2-3 years, I always choose male because I didn't want to deal with gestation. Thinking that's what was going to happen, but I am very happy with how nesting is where I can baby someone but not deal with eggs xD.
I feel like it's possible that this person was well-intentioned, but didn't understand the mechanics very well. They definitely weren't being particularly considerate, but I also think they might've been relatively new or inexperienced... I mean, they did just log off without waiting for the countdown timer! Some dinos just shouldn't have kids.
No, I think they got kicked for inactivity. Atleast if they left the group by logging out. It says 'so n' so left the group'. This one said disband.

Here is a tip in this situation. Before collecting that last quest item, run back to your parent until the growth bonus returns on your character. Then collect the item. This only works if you are the only child they are raising.
I thought all kids get the bonus near the parent
That's what I was doing, I would carry the last item around till I got up to the parent. But, because I had to eventually run so far to get the bonus. My running back was not worth the second or two you get for the bonus. It just wasn't worth it in the end :C
@@Alkazair The bonus is just to speed up growth, it's not an exp buff like the one you get with referred friends. So it doesn't really matter as its only saving you a few seconds. by the time you run back to the parent you probably would have done growth timer if you had done it without the buff.

4:35 I built my ano nest there but a good distance from the water and Ive hidden it quite well blending bought bushed with bushes already there.
God damn ive nested twice; dolphin and ano, and i doubted my parenting but i tried to keep my kids together and protected them. A couple kids almost died but i kept em alive. Now i feel better lmao

I meaaaaaaaaaan, to spend an hour growing someone and forget they were nesting me, drug someone across a quarter of the map to not guard them is a bit much.
I feel that people with a conscience would've said something. They were prepared to lay on the nest.

Yeah, you get to keep the abilities, skin and coins. But, you lose any saved quests like trophy quests.
I was happy to get 1k coins from re-nesting though!

Whenever I would take care of the babies I would let them do all the quests. Doing the group ones on their own
(with guidance from me to show them where the stuff is at unless they're the type to go at it alone. I'll have to let them know)
The group ones usually give more than the regular ones. So standing around, look imposing and watching is the way to go. This dude here is probably the type to look at his phone while his baby carriage starts flying down the street and into a car.
