This is just my opinion, mind you, but I really don't understand why the Tom Cruise "The Mummy" gets so much hate. It isn't a remake or reboot; it is its own movie with its own and new characters, story line, etc. This version, as awesome as it is, isn't even an original in its own right. In fact, this one is a remake of the original 1932 "The Mummy" starring Boris Karloff. That being said, here's a little fun fact: Tom Cruise's "The Mummy" was originally going to be a continuation of the Brendan Fraser franchise, with the O'Connell's in Latin America battling an Aztec mummy (whom was going to be portrayed by Antonio Banderas).
This is absolutely hilarious, I haven't laughed so much in ages, especially when the mummy gardens were attacking, brilliant American funny take on a British horror classic. Thanks America.
This was my favourite final battle as a kid and I always play this part again and again on DVD, I also parodied all the Ancient Egyptian lines Imhotep said in the clip. Such a great film, so many childhood memories!

Yeah, he ate Violet Beauregard's leftover blueberry pie and ice cream! Lol jk. Imhotep's grip on the victim's neck was so strong his red blood cells couldn't flow through.

Ancksunamun stabbed the pharaoh, and then Imhotep had to pay the price, everything he did subsequently was just to get back the woman he loved, and the fact that she was just using him the whole time is awful. I really wish that Rick and Evie has saved him the the pit to hell after Ancksunamun abandoned him, and then he would become a hero and join them using his mummy powers to save the world instead

What I love about this Mummy is it wasn’t exactly trying to be a “remake” of the Boris Karloff movie. It knew it wants to be: a fun light hearted adventure movie. This movie and Independence Day to me are the definition of fun 90s popcorn entertainment.
It payed homage constantly to the art direction and style of the original film whilst at the same time retelling the exact same story in a new, modern and interesting manner.
It only seems bad because Rachel Weisz didn't come back. But at the time, she was having a baby, and even then she turned it down for refusing to portray a character whom has a 21 year old son. And the woman that replaced her (Maria Bello) was more than willing to step into the role
The third one was correct as a standalone but not as a sequel. While the 2017 is quite shitty, the only good part was the mummy that i wanted to win for once.

My favorite movie is much better than Tom Cruise's version.
"This is my favourite movie and it is much better than the Tom Cruise's version."
@@hip2thabone_da_sticky1 dick
I loved Dracula Untold.
1000% totally agree with you 😉😉
I find it amusing that the visual effects of 1999 were more advanced than the ones of 2019
So true
Thats because many are practical - real. Today cgi is overused... in fact they dont know how to make normal high budget movies anymore without it.
Hm no
ILM - you have George Lucas to thank for that.
The 1932 film had great special effects for its time as well.
What a masterpiece man. Never tired of watching it again n again n will keep watching again n again 😘
Brendan Fraser is a legend. And I can't ignore Billy Zane's role in this movie too.
Billy Zane was not in this movie. He was in the scorpion king. Zane worked with winslet in titanic.
This isn't Billy Zane. It's Arnold Vosloo, a South African actor
I'd forgotten how much fun this was! Remember seeing it in theaters and the kids loved it.
Ur never to old to watch the mummy movies
The best film from my childhood! Still rewatch it several times a year! 10/10 in 2020!
I watch it every 2 months or so and i never get tired of it
This may be the most “1999” movie ever!
And matrix 🔥
back then there was like 5-10 great hits every year... LOTR etc todays you are lucky for one.
@Amilah CrackcornandIdontcare agree Hobit could be so much better, but tey made it only to milk money not with love anymore...
Paraduce! Paraduce! I definitely annoyed my siblings saying this at the most random times lol 😂
“He’s mortal.”
Admit it. You cheered when she said that.
The Mummy 20th Anniversary
(1999 - 2019) 20 Years

The Mummy 1 &2 are my all time fav movies ❤️

When i was a kid, i thought my love life would be like o'connell but when i am an adult, i realized its imhotep
At least you don't have to be Hom-Dai-ed
This is absolutely hilarious, I haven't laughed so much in ages, especially when the mummy gardens were attacking, brilliant American funny take on a British horror classic. Thanks America.
Rick: *Yells very long*
Mummies: *Yells louder* 😂
Uh uh
Uh uh *runs away*
"Uh Uh!"😂😂😂😂😂
3:40 🤣🤣🤣
Universal, please make The Mummy 4 with Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz!
You mean "The Mummy: Rise of the Aztec?"
Agree
Brendan is a robot now🤗
@@ugoh_ how? What do you mean?

Imhotep: why do I hear boss music?
Rick O’Connell: *kicking some mummy ass*
this movie never gets old
This was my favourite final battle as a kid and I always play this part again and again on DVD, I also parodied all the Ancient Egyptian lines Imhotep said in the clip. Such a great film, so many childhood memories!
Nicholas Chen Do you use the UK DVD or Blu-Ray, since the UK version unlike the US version doesn't have the subs hardcoded? I have a feeling CinemaSins may have used the UK release for their EWW video since they ripped the movie without the subtitles.
@@TMX1138 The US DVD, think it was Region One. The main menu has the eerie soundtrack played when Imhotep's coffin was discovered with each character appearing.
Nicholas Chen I was asking because the US DVD has the subs hardcoded, yet CinemaSins copy did not (so they probably had a UK copy and used a certain disk reader).
I have also memorised ever single Egyptian line that imhotep has ever said
Every scene in this movie is entertaining. It's action, scary, and comedy all rolled into a classic masterpiece
7:27 I never noticed how blue Rick is until now...
Yeah, he ate Violet Beauregard's leftover blueberry pie and ice cream! Lol jk. Imhotep's grip on the victim's neck was so strong his red blood cells couldn't flow through.
Matthew Nicolai haha
oh wow i see it
"Keep him busy!" is still my favorite line in this movie full of great lines.
I remember going to the theaters with my grandma when I was a kid to see this. maaaaan to be a kid again
No one can bring the charm this movie has.
Evie: keep him busy
Rick: No problem 😂🤣

Yo don't u get it its not a fucking childhood no matter how old u are u can still watch the classic mummy movies, Dumbass!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@@jabberleprechaun2364 what scarab crawled up your butt
I’ll be 31 this year and I still watch this classic movie as if it were yesterday!
All the actors really nailed their respective roles. Specially Fraser and Vosloo. Their relationship was that of Yin and Yang
6:14 The shadow reminds Imhotep of when she killed herself all those years ago. With the guards and her being stabbed.
I'd argue it reminds him of himself and her killing the Pharaoh.
this movie made me fell in Love with Rachel Weisz
In the sequel, she practically turned into a MILF.

O'Connell face LOL! 7:27 I just noticed Imhotep chocked the color out of him.
Can we just appreciate that punch he gave that mummy? DAYUM
Man, do I miss movies like these...
The most sad imhotep he just wanna reborn his lover anacksunamun, but even him sucess the mission but anacksunamun betray him 😆
I honestly don't like that either, should of had them die together.
@Alex Morales 😂it was even in the ancient hieroglyphics lmao. We were warned even back then
That's true, in fact he wasn't very evil at all.
@@susanbarberyoga1664 Well, he lost his powers 'cuz Anubis wanted him to fight against Scorpion King as mortal, so he wouldn't be a hero then. He left himself go when Ancksunamun betrayed him, he lost his will to live. Ok, he wasn't very evil at all at the beginning, but after he became an undead and was about to sacrifice Evie he said he was gonna rule the world so...
Makes me wonder why he got a curse that would make him a demi-god if resurrected tho :3
She could shorten her name a bit lmao
My boy Brendan Fraser in his prime.
What I love about this Mummy is it wasn’t exactly trying to be a “remake” of the Boris Karloff movie. It knew it wants to be: a fun light hearted adventure movie.
This movie and Independence Day to me are the definition of fun 90s popcorn entertainment.
This comment coming from a cartoon
It payed homage constantly to the art direction and style of the original film whilst at the same time retelling the exact same story in a new, modern and interesting manner.
Man
Rachel Weisz NAILED the “death is only the beginning” line
0:29 "Ya'll too high!" is right. These effects really blew my 10 year old brain wide open.
The mummy still visually beautiful, funny and an instant classic in my book. #stillholdup20yearslater
dwayne rock johnson cgi as scorpion king was better
I always loved how he just screws his arm back on.
When I was small I watched this movie now I am big but the result is same
Sad it’s rare to find movies today with good story telling nowadays. This movie was a masterpiece
Forever a Classic movie that has stood the test of time with all the advancements we've made.
The first two mummy movies in the Brendan Fraser trilogy were good. Part 3 was bad
It only seems bad because Rachel Weisz didn't come back. But at the time, she was having a baby, and even then she turned it down for refusing to portray a character whom has a 21 year old son. And the woman that replaced her (Maria Bello) was more than willing to step into the role
But it still better than tom Cruise mummy
The third one was correct as a standalone but not as a sequel. While the 2017 is quite shitty, the only good part was the mummy that i wanted to win for once.
@@Lightsaber- That and Freddie Boath wasn't there either (not that Luke Ford was terrible playing Alex but it would have been interesting to see Freddie reprised his character). The only good thing to come out of 3 was Brendan Fraser and John Hannah reprising their roles. And Jet Li making an appearance of course
No Rachel weiz = automatic fail
I watched this movie so many times that even my mom knows every dialogue..
O'Connor: "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!!!"
Mummy guards: "RWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!"
O'Connor: "uh-uh." Runs away.
That's still funny to this day.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Makes me laugh too hard. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
This is a great childhood film.
Brendan Fraser is a gem. I wish he had been treated better.
Thank goodness for Doom Patrol.
