This sounds like a pretty good version of the band. These songs, with Zurima out front, sound excellent. She sings with a lot of feeling when shes not having to drum. Well done, ladies!

Electro Voice Re-20 actually known for having low degree of proximity effect because of its construction there is 15cm distance to the microphone membrane for better speech recognition inside of it. This means almost no proximity effect. For most female vocalists you don’t want the proximity bass bump because they don’t have much response under 100-HZ anyway but some times you can use it successfully to get warmer vocals it depends on the timber of their voice and how the vocalists actively working with distance to microphone when singing. Most compressors add a lot of bass especially in high compression settings 4.1 and higher depending on attack and release settings. Some Gates add a some character to the sound besides the under low level cut off . I agree great work from the sound engineer for main vocals. Overall the recording and mix sounds very good and it is a real live recording 😎👍 what you hear is what’s played live in the studio.
