Great video! Can you say something more about your whole setup? For instance, what did you use to hook up your Sonuus to your Ipad? Also, what synth are you using on the Ipad?
@@DeaBroggn 1) Non chromatic switch engaged - quite impossible to pitch correctly at all. Synth is receiving all sorts of high and low notes - the effect is kinda like setting the pitch bend to maximum (12) and bending it wildly as you play a note. 2) When chromatic switch is engaged - results is much better, but you really have to have a pure pitch voice - in my case, the synth picks up on average 1 semi tone off - then you hear it and bends your voice a bit higher to make the pitch correct - this sorts of error is like 30% - 40% semi tone up / down on the intended pitch. 3) Very small issue - the G2M input is 1/4 inch but most mic is of XLR where you need a mixer to convert the output to AUX out into the G2M input. Or get a cheap mic with 1/4 inch output (untested , unsure if enough gain).
Unlike a vocal processor (such as a Boss VE-20) pitch correction feature, which tune your pitch correct all the time unless you really sing out of pitch. Perhaps applying a Vocal Pitch correction before G2M may produce better results (just speculation).
yep, lack of chord processing was the main reason why I sold mine (it was version 2 that time). Also tracking wasn`t too good, but I`m still thinking to buy version 3, since nothing more interesting was released anyway.
Is there a box like this that can do chords and track better in 2021? I use my gr55 with gk3 hex pickup and 13pin cable to control ipad instruments but I'm looking for something like this that's more compact and portable
I can see why you call yourself The Internet Legend... :D Hey does anyone know if there is a software plugin which does just as good a job with the pitch bend? I know MTuner (free) can output midi notes, but I think it's chromatic only. Software like Melodyne doesn't give you pitch bend I don't think.
I realy don't understand wy your holding your guitar when you don't play it. Do everything with the converter but you don't do it with your guitar and I wanted to see al that everything.

Your neighbors must love you
If you want to have fun with these, try playing some random recordings into them (and enjoy the crazy shit which ensues)
Is there a pedal I can get the midi sounds from?
A synth?

I just got one for voice to midi.. I can sing on pitch but it's hard to sing correctly into the G2M (yes, dip switch set accordingly).
I was thinking about getting this for voice to midi as well. what problem did you have exactly, did it not get the notes properly?

@@stucknote Thanks for the detailed explanation! That really is a shame.
does the mic need a signal converter before getting into the sonuus ? or you can plug any mic directly into it ?
That's neat. I like the midi cars wooshing by outside. And the... ah.. midi smog... probably. Er a.. yeah
Pairs well with a vocoder
Oh, man. I need this. Hate that it can't do chords properly, though.

MIDI Guitar FTW!
If you`re on a stage and combine this thing with natural guitar sound, it doesn`t work. Otherwise Midi guitar is a good option

There’s an app that does that (midi guitar 2) and the best is fishman triple play 3
You have a V3, why didn't you demo it in poly mode?
It's not polyphonic.
There is a reason for the defibrilator in the background ....
cool demo, what app are you using on your ipad?
Herbert, does this track your volume/how loud you play?
Спасибо за классный обзор!

If you have the money this thing works really well better than any software I’ve tried.
Lol at that negative comments calling it an “apparatus” or “gadget”. It’s not 1960 anymore
so this is monophonic.
a good review, tks. But it's the first time I see ione done by a guy wearing tie and suit, and not the regular black t-shirt. And no tattoes:-))))
I think I look better in suits
buy gk3 midi

I found this apparatus useless. You can't play two notes at a time. Useless to simulate a keyboard for example. Let's find some other one to buy...
It is cool if you want to use a synthesizer with the guitar Midi guitars have come along way
guy spends more than half the vid on the freakin mic.... fail.
