This track has been medicine to my heart all the way. Thank you for the clangers, they have got me through some tough times too. John Martyn was so lovingly real. Forever in our hearts💖.
Amazing to think how this was recorded and where the inspiration came from. How taunted was this man when he wrote this. It still send shivers down my spine everytime I listen to it and it's nearly 40 years since it was recorded. I saw John 4 times during the late 70's and this was a highlight as he finished 2 concerts with this track. He had electric and acoustic versions of this haunting piece of music................beautifully haunting and powerful..................bless you John
Brilliant and sublime mix of music and visuals. By the bye, I sang harmonies with John on his album Well Kept Secret. His singing on that album is soul personified. Johnny Too Bad was bloody good.
Wow! Looked you up, - and thats awesome! To just have met him woulda been cool, but you got to work with him, sing with him! Leave a lasting imprint - with john. - thats something, Lee. I would have loved to have met him when he was younger, like 1969-1978. But, i'm 22 years old, so i'd need a timemachine
@@samclarkelccm629 Thanks, Sam, can't do anything about the time machine. Chuffed that you looked me up. Have my own RUclips channel, which has a song that John really liked, called "I Just Can't Go On". Best Wishes, Lee.
I haven't seen the Clangers since those special early years. I remember the little noises they made when communicating!! Thanks :-) (Love John Martyn as well).
Oh Jesus I remember watching THE CLANGERS.This song by John is perfect for this video or this video is perfect for this beautiful song. Thanks for posting both. You have great taste my friend.
i was in a record store, asking if they had any Nick Drake, and the owner tells me that they don't, but that I should really check out John Martyn, I am already nostalgic but this happened earlier today, I get nostalgic real quick about stuff that changes my life. This...this is something else

I miss your comment already and I'm still reading it.
I read that John Martyn had Nick Drake live with him in Hastings for a while when he was doing poorly. I believe Solid Air is dedicated to him.
