- Amazon just released their new picture frame style Echo Show 15. This is designed to be, not only better integrated into your home, but also the hub for your smart home control. While the device has a lot of positives, the deep body is a little surprising and the small lag when opening the new widgets can be somewhat frustrating.
In this video I unbox and show you the setup of the Echo Show 15 as well as showing some of the pros and cons of this new device.

Andy what’s your thoughts on mixing products? I’m all google at present (speakers/displays etc.). Don’t have any Amazon devices but they seem to be introducing innovative products a lot quicker than Google
In truth my Google devices are pretty much sitting idle. I think they're better at question answering and you can setup some useful controls on Android phones to work with them, but I just can't beat the routines through Alexa devices that just make it easier to automate lots of actions at once. I've seen online some people use custom skills to use Alexa devices to trigger Google home replies but this is at the moment early days and one way. Totally personal preference but I'm gonna stick with Alexa.
Andy, quick one if I connect some ZigBee lights etc to either the show or 5th gen echo, can other older echo devices then turn those lights on / off etc?
Yes as long as the main echo, which is acting as the hub remains connected to them. Effectively the Zigbee devices use the main Echo as their hub and relays any commands from the others to turn on off etc. Hope this makes sense. :)
Looks pretty good plus I heard this is powered by a mediatek chip too
It's pretty fluid working and I've noticed the far field mic works really well. Looks even better now that I've sunk the cable in the wall and is invisible. Looks really nice.
How loud is the sound compared to other echo devices?
Pretty loud, about the same if maybe a little louder than the echo show 8. I have it in a small kitchen, but I never have it higher than about 4 as it fills the room. The two back speakers aren't bad at all.
Good review but that enormous avatar needs to go - very distracting.
