The name of this dance is actually the Albanian Chamiko - it literally means from Chameria or dance of the Chams - the Chams being a subgroup of Albanians who originally resided in the western part of the region of Epirus in northwestern Greece, an area known among Albanians as Chameria.

So what ! my suggestion is to dance it with fervor ...head up high...with great athletic, Hellenic Posture. Let's all agree CHamiko and or Tsamiko.....a legend in Dance
