Just got back from a week in Mammoth, had a fantastic time fishing late season trout on then Eastern Sierra. The winds at Whitney were incredible and temps were down in the 20's above 9000ft. Have fun, stay safe, looking forward to the video.
Another wonderful video of good times with good friends at a breathtaking location. Times like that can not be beat. Thanks once again, for taking us along!
thanks, the other day I was looking back at older videos and saw your zpacks tarp and was wondering what is your all time favorite shelter. we have gone through quite a few my friend
Favorite all time shelter is using my 8 x 10 Equinox silnylon tarp (especially in Pharraoh's pyramid mode - I kid you not)! Your newest shelters are mighty nice.
mine, for summer, is the sl3 but for cold rainy nights, hard to beat the advanced bivi. We have had some fun over the years my friend. Perhaps in the new year it is time we shook hands? I want to start traveling more this year and meet youtube friends. Maybe we can set up a mass teaming with as many of us we can and go on a trek?
Alan, You always seem to be one step ahead of me with your videos. It seems like i get a notion to do a particular trip or trail and low and behold you put out a video that shows that particular trip. Keep it up amigo. Hope to join you one day.
the collective thought gets around. :-) But my next one, well, I dont think anyone's ever done it and very few have ever even thought to try. IF, I make it, Ill show the rout on map, you guys will be blown away!
Gorgeous view!! I dehydrate my own food, though that don't look to bad at all. Nice combo flashlight/lamp/charger. I was going to buy that bivy you have. I love, love it. I did all the research I could on it. It's super. I changed my mind. I don't want two sleeping gear. I thought I"d go with the Optic 3.5 tent, more room if it rains and two can have plenty of room with room to spare. If I decide to use it for more then just me. Even though it says it sleeps 3.5 You don't want to elbow someone and be cramped. I love that Bivy bag though. Super interesting video. Thanks! Awe well fed chipmunk. lol on clean up crew.
I was back and forth with a bivi quite a few years, then after more times then not, being out solo, rain rare but cold winds cutting into tents and tarps, the bivi is throw down, get in zip up easy and warm. nearly lost tents to summit winds setting up, many times all rock, stakes not usable, its great for backpacking but not camping. you cont hang out in it too long. get in, sleep, get out, walk, repeat.
Wow that was amazing ! The food was looking great Mm some Italian stallion steak looked good I will have to try that and dehydrated coconut milk say what sounds good . so many amazing views thanks .
88 views and 8 likes (including mine) when I watched this. I always come away moved by the beauty and comfort these mountains offer. The pre sunrise colours were spectacular. I am wondering how you are changing things up in the new year. Just don't go away...unless you are going to explore new ranges. lol Cheers from wet and windy Nova Scotia.
PHARRAOH I would walk a few with you in a heartbeat! There are some trails around, but no mountains, which is what I miss so much. However, the Appalachian trail isn't too far away...only a few hours. I walk a few miles a day now, and grew up in the mountains of B.C. so can handle the hills. It's funny, but yesterday I was thinking about walking with you one day. Funny you should mention it today. Am I that obvious? lol ;o)
you did see it right it was not just me you did see that I spotted it from way back on the trail I also saw an alligator that day but I forgot the film him
Yo paulie, you got any lemonade?! hahaha i laughed my arse off at that mate! Thanks Alan, top notch entertainment once again! That tarp is awesome! I really want one! Hope your leg gets better soon my friend, atb, Tom.
Unfortunately, I am not with her physically. She broke ties with me over a year back. I ve not been able to move on. She is ONE of a kind and I know we have a connection that will eventually bring us back together if not this time around, the next but something inside me will not allow me to make a commitment to another lady. I do have a young lady who likes to hike and such but refuses to be on the videos. We are just friends who meet each-others needs in life, no real connection there. My real life is with Molly, I am just going through the motions now days, trying to get by till my time is over.
What a great video with beautiful scenery... 2 of 2 I'll rate it a 10/10... That is one heck of a trek... Any clean up near Mt. Baldy coming up??? I have a few people that said they will be in... Thanks for sharing PHARRAOH
Im not sure, we had set up camp and eaten by the time they summit'd and it was dark right after they set up tent. They never came over to our area but went to bed. Dint see them till morning and she wasn't cooking. Dave made pancakes.
all around it but the permits only set up once and it fell through. Im not too much into those zoo hikes. Angels landing looks awesome but wait in line to walk a few miles in crowds is not my thing. I like to see, find, experience things. Im not the selfie stick type of guy.
Your videos never disappoint. I will be running it all through my head as i fall asleep tonight. Thank you.
thanks for watching
Totally agree you have a great stove to operate in those conditions and produce those results.
try is a few thousand higher next week. video to follow

Another wonderful video of good times with good friends at a breathtaking location.

What a great video with beautiful scenery... 2 of 2 I'll rate it a 10/10... That is one heck of a trek... Any clean up near Mt. Baldy coming up??? I have a few people that said they will be in... Thanks for sharing PHARRAOH
thanks for your support
At 11,500 all water boils faster and takes less fuel because you have less pressure on the surface of the water.
1.5 ounces of fuel, boiled 8 cups of water! Thats a record in my book
Nice hike looks cold and good company,What did iron chef Monica make?
Im not sure, we had set up camp and eaten by the time they summit'd and it was dark right after they set up tent. They never came over to our area but went to bed. Dint see them till morning and she wasn't cooking. Dave made pancakes.
PHARRAOH blueberry?
I can't help to think about the miners up in Azusa Canyons. how do they keep shelter in this Morning storm? hope they're ok.
there are only a few left and the river is so low, that wimpy storm was not a threat, IF any were there
so cool! i wanna go there ASAP! haha
its a long walk.
have you ever been to mt.whitney?
all around it but the permits only set up once and it fell through. Im not too much into those zoo hikes. Angels landing looks awesome but wait in line to walk a few miles in crowds is not my thing. I like to see, find, experience things. Im not the selfie stick type of guy.
same with me definitely! yea its hard to get a permit for it...
Looks like a cold morning. Great idea to fly a kite
next time I shall bring a box kite
to me that pepper steak is too bland, needs something to jazz it up
