    These videos are immensely helpful. My textbook is annoyingly vague and gives irrelevant examples. Thank you so much!

    I have offended more than one person with that statement! Do please remember that it is a simplified model, and that you can broaden the scope of "consuming" to non-material items, like going for a walk (which I like, but definitely has diminishing returns), or more advanced models include "savings" as a category from which people derive utility.

    Yeah, like what if what makes someone happy is producing? Then is producing also considered consumption in this case?

  • @Lucky10279
    @Lucky10279 12 лет назад +1

    There is a difference between happiness and pleasure. You are talking about pleasure not happiness. You cannot get happiness from material things, only pleasure.

    Economics premises are so bias. It doesn't makes us happy consuming things. Missing just makes things completely different.

    "How do people make themselves happy? by consuming things"
    I could go on all day about how wrong this wording is, esp. when teaching kids.

  • @emmardo

    I am shocked to listen to the lecturer saying that people will be happy from consuming things, hence happier the more we consume...
    It's hard to accept this assumption... It doesn't make sense to me
