Btw saw last week you got promoted, congrats brother. My B-I-L is an officer and the way the news portrays police is honestly disgusting. They deal with crazy volatile addicts who could snap at any second then a lot of their time is devoted to very, very sad domestic issues where they're forced to play intermediary, give teenagers pep talks, try to reason with people that hate you, regularly witness child abuse they have no power to stop after they leave the call. Haha and then they get to kick it with the 'sovereign citizens'. My brother got a call to arrest a guy sleeping at Walmart a couple years back. Instead he helped the kid find housing, get free transportation, gave him a tv, I gave him a ps4, my sister often packs a lunch for the kid. And only bc the media makes it an issue, my family is white, the kid Axel is black and that didn't stop them from inviting him to his first thanksgiving dinner he's EVER had. this is what cops really do. And it can happen right after a call finding a woman lying on the floor next to her shotgun and having to secure the scene while alerting family. I freely admit I could not handle the trauma n the sad part is most people who do the work are not totally equipped either. God bless.
