Thank you for doing this video in English.
My favorite is the Rocky Revolver which replaces the awful laces with wire which is tightened by a round (revolving) tightener. You get perfect tightening that never comes loose until you release the wire with the wheel thing. I don't think they make them anymore.
Good boots are so important, especially in cold weather. The wrong boots can damage your feet for life. I found out the hard way not to wear boots made in China. About 20 years ago I was out with a friend 4-wheeling in his truck. Just as the sun was going down we got stuck, the front of his truck fell into a snow cave so we tied the back of the truck to a tree so it wouldn't fall further into the snow cave, and slept the night in the truck. In the morning I started to hike the 11 miles out in 3 foot of snow to the nearest telephone. I was only into the hike 1 mile when my Chinese boots split, the soles on both boots came loose from the tops, so my feet were exposed to the snow. After hiking the 11 miles I found out the phone was no longer there so I had to hike an additional 3 miles to the next phone to call for help. I ended up with frostbite in my toes and couldn't walk for several months afterward. 20 years later my toes still bother me if I let them get even a little bit cold they hurt and itch (on the inside) and I won't be able to walk for a few weeks. So 200 Euro is not such a high price to pay if they protect your feet. Buying cheap boots can result in paying the real high price of damaging your feet. If your feet arn't happy you won't be happy either.
Hi Vanessa! As ever a pleasure to see your videos. Nice Boots and excellent description. Thanks for sharing.🤗👍👍👍
I like the fact that you have tested these Boots for 1 Year and they still are very good --- Good information, Thank You !! ------- I seen Poldi running around in the background 🐕
Hi Vanessa .. thank you for a very nice boot review 👍. (On a lighter note, I am not sure that I should watch reviews on Outdoor Boots and such .. because then I want to go out and buy more .. and already I have too many 😆).
Yes, they look to be very high quality boots and I also have a preference for natural leather. That you have already tested them from last Winter is also very good .. thanks.
Just a 'tip' that you, and others, can perhaps try (more 'useless information' 😊) regarding boots and inner soles that sometimes 'smell'. Taking out the inner sole and spraying it and the inside of the boot with Apple Cider Vinegar (Apfelessig) is a very good way (and cheap) to prevent shoe odour. Spraying your feet beforehand with Apfelessig also helps .. and .. is an EXCELLENT cure and preventative for 'Athlete's Foot' (Fußpilz).
That said .. once again, many thanks for the very good review based on personal experience, and I look forward to more.
Until then, please take care .. best regards .. Tommy
I prefer leather they look good quality actually i started to look for some new boot last week i shall have to take a good look this evening , good review
Weight is important now that I am a little older so a heavy boot/shoe is not for me...thank you for the tips.
I'm still wearing my old Army boots. They mean a lot to me!
I bet you just can't wait for the Christmas Market to take place this Christmas correct
What an awesome review Vanessa! All my hiking boots are low cut and I've been looking for a sturdy pair of high top boots just like what you reviewed. I'm going to check on the internet if their available here in the USA. Thanks very much.👍
Very good product review, Thank you.
the nice thing about those boots is when the bottoms wear out they can be resoled.
Vanessa you are an AMAZING WOMAN!
GREAT VIDEO.
Very thorough review Vanessa. Good fitting, warm boots are important and since winter temperature here is -40 and even -50 warm good quality gear is mandatory. I enjoyed your video as always. Best wishes to you and your family Paul
Hallo Vanessa!, great review on those boots.
With work issue, we get similar for free. I will show one day in a video.
Did you, (tell me), rub the stiching of them with bees wax?
This help retain the life of the boot/s.a
Of course the company may have already used this water proof stitching anyway....
if my boots get smelly, i spray deodorant in them! LOL.......
i would get slightly bigger size to allow for thicker or thinners socks.
This is because i wear them every day and in summer we would not wear thick wooly socks. :)
Kind Regards,
Mick
Very nice boots, very important. I love how your channel has grown. Keep up the good work Vanessa!
nothing can't beat a great pair of boots.l got mines from Hospital special pairs of boots for my bracket cause my 5th stroke l was lucky l was still alive
I got my boots from the goodwill store! Brand new military boot 's ! Only paid $15. US, :) waterproof, sturdy and tuff! Those shoes are nice but to expensive for my blood lol
military boot 's are not bad.
I like Danner boots. There made in the US. And are a little expensive but well worth it.
I love my Irish Setter boots by Redwing
Good boots are very important, you touched on all the most important points. I have two pair, one is non-insulated for use in warm/hot weather and the other is insulated for use in cold weather. They are made by the same company and are basically the same boot except for the insulation. That way when I put them one it's not so different to the way I walk in them.
I learned something from a friend many years ago and that is to put on the boots with the socks you plan to wear with them and then go stand in a creek or steam and let the leather get very wet. Then go on a nice long hike in them and they will dry as you walk and conform to your feet perfectly. They will never make a blister on your feet. Then apply the dressing to the leather.
Great video as usual. Be safe.
Good video, Like they say, "You take care of your feet, and your feet will take care of you!" Being a former U.S Marine I know a little about boots and your feet especially in the jungles of Viet Nam. In the States those boots run between $300 to 400 hundred dollars, there a good boot, but expensive! Where did your hair color go? Take Care Vanessa, Be Safe!!!
Great job Vanessa😎
Deine Stiefel sehen gut aus, es gibt zu viele billige chinesische Schuhe, die nicht halten. Danke für die Information. Have a nice week! 👍👏
The boots seem to be exceptionally well made and well designed. Many well thought out features. I especially like the use of cord. It is very good you use the products before endorsing them. It shows much more authenticity. Your presentation is also very well designed and featured. Your use of different camera angles quite effective and pleasing to eye. You would do well in advertising for many different companies. Thank you
Vanessa would make a great spokesperson for many outdoor companies.
Good video. I like the sole on those boots, I myself use leather boots without any membrane. The boots dry faster without membranes if they have become wet. Where I live there is a lot of water that you have to cross to move on.
Good video
Happy Trails Vanessa
I've always had trouble finding good boots. I guess my feet are strange. Good reviews are always appreciated. Thanks!
Great 👍 video it is hard to find good quality shoes anymore when I young shoe were made a lot better. Thanks for all the great videos
Ya, i have trouble with boots. I wear them out in 6 months or less. I'm tall and heavy all in one! A true Viking!
Nice ones !
Great video. Good boots are so important.
Thank you Mike!
Best regards,Vanessa
Nice Boots, but I prefer wearing my Ariats, they keep my feet warm in the winter
Thank you for sharing. My delux pair are arriving tomorrow and I'm really excited.
Bought this boot on behalf of this review. And would like to add some additional info.
1. The boot is extremely stiff, and mine has taken 4-5 days to brake in (approx 50 kilometers) . And is still not fully broken in - soaking in leather grease for the next 24 hrs to soften the leather a bit more. So expect a long break in periode. Once broken in, its great👍
2. The sole has extremely good grip, to some extent Even on icey surfaces.
3. The boot is very spaceous, and very well suited for high arches and warm socks. Keeps your feet warm down to at least - 20 degr C.
4. The heel is not so easily fixed to the boot as I would prefer it to be. This might change after fully broken in. And in addition ti this, try out different ways to lace the boots, for your i dividual comfort- very important, in order to avoid blisters.
5. The boot is very, very sturdy built, stable and comfortable when broken in and it will last you for a looong time if taken well care of.
I'm going to see if SCHEELS has these . Viking Hunter GTX Boots.
You are right "unboxing" reviews are done by armchair outdoorsmen and drug store cowboys. A spectacular review, no doubts. Have you tried applying dubbing to the leather? Dubbing is a bees wax and leather conditioner mix. Makes to boot super waterproof. 🤓
That's the best boot commercial I've ever seen! LOL... You're a good salesperson! Anything else you want to sell to me?
Lots of good info on the boots Vanessa. I never bought cheep boots they wear out to soon. Spend the xtra money for a good pair and they well last for many years. Thank You Vanessa My friend. And being Norwegian I like anything with the name Viking on it. But not the Minnesota Vikings, They suck.
Vanessa... I love your English. I would watch your videos for that reason alone. I look forward to the next time. You seem like a really sweet girl.
Greetings Vanessa from Arkansas that's an awesome looking boot I got something similar to it which is a decent boot but that one looks back it would be awesome to wear thanks for sharing your video keep on Bushcraft girl keep on ;)⚠⚠🍀❤
how is this boot on slippery/wet rocks/ice/snow/? the sole looks quite capable, but its not vibram which I already know.
A question, do this boots have steel toe cap???.....
Because I ask this when it is winter here my feet get numb from the cold. :(
Vanessa, have you tried "blousing" your pants over your boots? Use these : smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07FCMD9TB/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 to hold the pants tight around top of the boot (about and inch or so from top). It will keep things from getting into your boots. If you're wearing waterproof leggings (like rain gear), you almost become waterproof from the waist down.
Must of known we were checking out your boots in previous videos. Fine review, especially about the "tongue". I had a shoemaker repair mine cause it was cheap leather.
Looks like a good boot. Do they have in big sizes? I wear a 14 eee
The boots you were wearing looked to be good quality. You get what you pay for. Well done Vanessa. Take care.
Miss Vanessa I would ask a question if it is not too personal. I have noticed in your videos that youe left hand has a large scar. I hope it no longer bothers you. but being a nosey American I was wondering how you got that scar. If it is something you would not prefer to share just tell me to mind my own business. I will understand.
As far as i know Viking do not have Vibram soles, but instead make their own patent UGC
Very good review, I wish my German was as good as your English. 👍😘
I love higher top boots gortex is fine too. The most subjective thing is the fit. Good review ma’am
Great video Vanessa from the city of fountains Kansas City James 😎
WOW your boots are awesome.... gotta get those
You do get what you pay for good boots an good tires a must I have boots that cannt cut with a chainsaw but very heavy dog toys to you can smell the chemical on them not good very nice video Vanessa you an yours have a great week
Vanessa, your boots are durable and well made. My kind of girl.
Thank you so much for that review. I agree about high back.
You made some great points. I have been doing research on equipment for backpacking. I want to hike the Appalachian Trail. I was so excited about my plan and the research, I forgot about only being able to backpack 2 months at a time. I have maintenance medication and have to SEE my doctor, every other month. I am seriously contemplating on how to rid myself of the medication. Love your videos.
Wish you all the best Tressa!
для леса такая обувь избыточна. если только горный лес
Very nice video me i m wearing military shoes with string to close and a zipper so i can move my shoes of two in a way
Very good video Vanessa really enjoyed it bye bye
👍👍 Great job Vanessa. Thanks.
Those are nice looking boots and I would like to own a pair of them, but they are out of my price range right now. I love the way they are built and they would probably last a long time for me.
Thank you !
Best regards,Vanessa
Deine Videos sind hervorragend. Danke für deine Arbeit. Ich hoffe, mein Versuch, auf Deutsch zu antworten, ist verständlich.
I love u.... Dear.... Venesa....
Nice... Goretex rocks!!! :)
Thanks for the video.
Wow... That's a set of boots.
nice boot but too rich for my blood
How heavy are they?
Good looking boots Vanessa
Great review and Boots!!! Not sure if I will need them here in Arizona though. Thanks Vanessa...
John Ganshow
Palladium boots would be good in Arizona. The French Army wore them in the Algerian desert.
Okay, Thanks, thought they might be to hot. I wear hiking sneakers everywhere I go outdoors...
Thank you Vanessa for that thorough review of a critically important topic. 👍👍👍👍
Thanks 👍🏼
Never heard of Viking, will look into them. When I was in the Army in Germany back in 1987 I bought a pair of Lowa boots (and still have them) so I'm a big fan of Lowa boots as I own 4 pair of them.

If there's one thing a bushcrafter needs in the wintertime it's warm, dry feet and a good grip on the sometimes hazardous terrain. Your Viking boots are the best I've ever seen, if I had some I couldn't wait to go out and use them. btw You said tongue right except the ue are silent: [tung] I love when you mix in some Deutsch:) Leder=Leather. Great vid, always good to c u:)
I am "old school" and agree with you on using a waterproofed 100% leather boot, at least for the foot (shoe area) and preferably all or most of the shaft (leg area). But GorTex panels in the shaft and for the tongue are a great feature. The connecting piece from the shaft to the tongue of the boot is called a "gusset", and it prevents water running into the boot. It is an absolutely essential design feature! I see so many boots advertised as "waterproof" without a gusset, meaning any water at or above ankle height will run into the boot. That is NOT a waterproof boot by my standards. These are referred to as "gusseted" or "non-gusseted" boots.
Thank you for an excellent review of an apparently excellent boot. I also agree with you that one needs to use an outdoor product, whether clothing or shelter or backpack or tool, for a season or two before giving a real review. We will all look forward to more of your excellent videos. Michael
Great review Vanessa. You brought some good points for me to consider when buying my next pair of boots. Thanks.
Having high quality footwear is so important for so many reasons in so many applications. Thank you for sharing your insights and reasoning as well as your product review. As always, best regards.
Enjoyed your review of the boots. Going to look into them and see how they feel. Thank you for the honest review too. 😊
Your doing awesome with the English language Vanessa ! thanks for all the videos .
Nice informative video, did not know about some of the health concerns of certain ones Made in China. Do you use gaiters at all, Vanessa? My boots generally last 3 to 4 years, if they're poor quality they're done in a year. Please don't take this the wrong way, but would you like me to join you on one of your walks and assist you with your English pronunciation? I mean this in the kindest possible way.
You are correct about wearing them for a day before going out for n you he woods with them, it's terrible if you have a shoe that's not comfortable, and worse if they make your feet sore.Glad you found a good boot that suits you😊
Cant go wrong with Viking Boots 👍
I wish everyone a quit time "between the years". Enjoy your time and renember what is really important in live.
And of course , here is my german channel, where you have also the chance to win by last Advent-giveaway:

Kind regards,Vanessa
Those boots looks awesome! I am tempted, even though I have so many already! As always, I love your videos, I learn a lot (and I'm a child of the woods as well) I like your style. You can tell that you have a great love for the wild, and reverence for it's gifts. Also you know the lore of the area, which really helps brings you into the trip.. Do you fish? When I see some of these Bavarian streams, I'm losing my mind!! They look sooo good to fish. They have a look unlike anything we have here in the states..And I live in the mountains as well. They seem to have a green, gray tint which is so enticing..Thanks for the videos, I am a big fan! All the best!
The brothers Grimm lived near by and I always thought of the Bavarian woods as the setting for some of their classic fairy tales. I used to call Vanessa Little Blonde Riding Hood. :D
good video, nice boots there is another option which i think is ideal for bushcraft Haix chainsaw boots, thermal waterproof vibram sole toe cap and anti-cut by chainsaw, just an idea.
