      Yes!!! This study is VERY through. I think we’ve been using it for 6 years now and it’s still new every time bc as the children age, the thoughts get deeper! And as you pointed out, the different aspects of each holiday is nice. There is so many ways to study these events of Christ’s life, so that’s definitely a perk!

    "Thorough" is exactly what I would want for Bible curriculum. :) My boys are so little, right now we're just cuddling and reading Bible storybooks, I have a Spanish one and an English one. My husband and I stumbled across, in a free book pile, a book of excerpts from all sorts of Christian writers through the centuries--Johnathan Edwards, Bonhoeffer, Augustine, Calvin, Wesley, Luther, Spurgeon...and we read that in the evenings together, which our boys seem to see that as an invitation to start climbing on us. We're working on that. :P My parents have been going through the year-long Bible study with Bible Project that's been going on this year with my sisters.

    • @OurHOMEschoolPlan

      True! Your boys might be a bit young for a formal study. I always just told the stories to my kids also. We’ve only been doing this study for 4 years, so my youngest was 3.....but she still participated when we started. I just let her do quiet play things while we did it. But it was amazing what she picked up. All of the sudden, shed pipe in with an answer to my questions. 😉
      What a wonderful example to your boys!! I love that they want to be there while you’re reading. And what a treasure you’ve got....are those writings all in just one book? ❤️

    Thanks so much for your information. I have been looking at many different programs. I watched your review on Master Books and The Good and Beautiful. It really helped to see the books up close and what the lessons looked like. The Websites really didn't help me with my questions. So I have been a little stressed. The Good and beautiful seem to a good choice for my type A little girl and will help me to stay focused. 😮 The link to this video came up and I love John Macarthur and never knew his ministry had this program. Both videos are an answer to prayer. I have a cart full of the Grace devotionals and everything to go along with them. Yes all three years and all the fun books to go along with them. Can you give a practical example of how you impart the information from this curriculum to 2 to 4 year olds?
    There is a curriculum but I have seen it and I believe it's way too lofty for that age group I just need someone to show me what it looks like to teach that age group this information. Please help!

    • @OurHOMEschoolPlan
      @OurHOMEschoolPlan  3 года назад +1

      For that age group, I wouldn’t read the verses straight out. I’d summarize the story and ask questions about what happened. But that age group is very young. We don’t start using this curriculum until school age, so 5. For our Sunday school teachers, I’m not sure if the teacher’s manual has hints for various age levels. The website may say.
      For those young ages, I’d get Bible storybooks with illustrations and just talk about it. When my youngest was that little, I gave her something to do with her hands, a quiet toy while we did our Bible study. So it may jot have appeared that she was actively listening, but she did pick up things.
      I hope that helps.

  • @GinaRLacy

    Thanks for sharing! I have a question, is the Teacher Guide pack sufficient or do you need the workbooks? I’m trying to stay away from a workbook for Bible. The other curriculum that I am looking at is Precept Ministry. It teaches you how to study the Bible and use colored pencils with images to help visually see the patterns in the Bible.

    • @OurHOMEschoolPlan
      @OurHOMEschoolPlan  3 года назад

      All I have is the family devotional! In my opinion, that’s all you need. All of the other workbooks and teachers guides might be useful for a Sunday school class, (which I think is the intent for those). But the family devotional is very thorough.
      If you wanted worksheets and activity pages, that’s the separate activity book, I believe.
      But when we do this for our Morning Bible time, we only read the scripture together (when my kids were younger, if there was a lot of scripture, I might have summed up the story. Sometimes there’s A LOT for one day...other days, just 2-10 verses) anyway...then I read them the summary and ask the questions. (I also ask questions for comprehension AS I’m reading scripture and AS I’m reading the summary.
      And that’s all we do. They do have memory verses. And sometimes we will drill those also after our lesson.
      I’ve never heard of precept ministry. I’ll have to look into that one!

      Finally, just bought this! I did several devotionals from our church (which I wasn’t crazy about) and some other hodge podge studies. Our favorites were the Campfire Curriculums Easter and Christmas. I should have done this one as our daily Bible study though…lesson learned.

      It has Chrsitmas and Easter as separate studies in the back to use over a few weeks. But it’s not integrated into the main curriculum. So the main curriculum has weeks labeled as week 1, week 2, etc. the Christmas and Easter weeks are like in the appendix as Christmas week 1, Christmas week 2. So yes and no.

      I might ask my church bc I’m wondering if they gave me the website on where to order it with personalization. But if you don’t care about that, Christianbooks.com has them also.
      Mine is pretty custom.
      Bonded Leather cover
      Large print
      Thumb indexed
      Red letter
      And then my name.
      I also have the NASB because when the Passage is referring to a prophesy or some other scripture, it’s in ALL CAPS. That is so useful for study. Many New Testament truths refer to Old Testament scriptures or prophesies and the caps make it easy to ID when maybe otherwise, I might not realize it.
      I’ll ask one of our deacons if they know where we can order and customize it as you like.

    • @OurHOMEschoolPlan
      @OurHOMEschoolPlan  2 года назад +1

      You won’t cover every single verse in the Bible. But overall it’s VERY thorough! So I guess it’s a very thorough and detailed overview that covers almost everything?
      Some of it depends on how much delving you do into each day. If you have older kids, you can discuss more and go to the supplemental verses referenced and in each summary. But for younger kids, you may just stick to the summary and learning the details. But as a lesson, psalms and proverbs won’t be an official lesson for the week. But several verses will be referenced at many different points if that makes sense.
