    Boy, that looks like a nice low hours fresh water engine. Take good care of it, will last a lifetime, can't replace it these days. Yeah, these are more peppy than the old 6hps for sure. The 7.5hp is fine on that rig with just you onboard, but you will need a 9.9/15hp if you want to push the family around though. Maybe you will find a nice old one like your 7.5!

      I actually upgraded to a 15hp Evinrude. Get 22mph now!

    Tell me more about the timming adjustement on the cable ? My 7.5 only gets about 7mph too. Sometimes not even. I had a beat up 6hp that could go 12mph easily

      Not sure how to adjust this. It could be bad plugs, prop slip, or your points need to be adjusted. Good Luck!

    13 mph tops ? i have an evinrude 7.5 1980 vintage
