    I feel like the second son had the most appropriate answers. He was still calling his mum beautiful and without making 'excuses' (like saying 'it happens')for the men on the street. He understands that it's disrespectful to women.
    This lady is raising her son right.

    • @chrislowery4971
      @chrislowery4971 4 года назад +738

      The son who said "it happens" wasn't making an excuse; in fact, he said he hated it immediately afterward. It was simply an acknowledgement that yes, cat calling does happen, especially in the case of an attractive woman. I'm a woman and I get cat called. No, I don't like it, but it happens.
      People really are overanalyzing that comment and looking to find something wrong with it. Lol

      @ZAFGE 3 года назад +221

      If he just said “It happens” then yeah that wouldn’t be okay. But context matters. He said “It happens... but I hate it.” He’s acknowledging that there’s a problem here that has become common place. I’m not saying normalizing this behavior is okay but he’s not doing that and in a video he voluntarily agreed to participate in to raise awareness, I don’t think he needs to get dunked on for saying it. Pick your battles. That way, when someone who is trying to justify this behavior comes along, you’re stronger and more likely to be taken seriously.

Most men just yell stuff, they aren't looking for a life partner or to make someone feel nice about themselves.

    I highly dislike when guys are like "what can you not take a compliment?" "Can't a guy tell a girl she's pretty?" "Can't we flirt?" Like YES you can but not every time is the right time. If a girl is minding her own business walking down the street trying to get somewhere and you yell "Hey sexy!" "Hey beautiful!" It's like wtf. You don't even know her and you're yelling like a maniac at her. It's disrespectful and you're only talking to her because of how she looks. If you want to flirt then go to a bar, a club, school, etc. And don't yell say some thing like "hi I'm ___ what's your name?" or "hello beautiful how's it going?" (Lol idk how to flirt like a guy) but something like that. And if a girl rejects you then she isn't interested JUST LEAVE. Okay rant over.

      +natalia berron There are always going to be jerks. Men, women, it doesn't matter. When it started out, women were fighting for the right to vote, to be independent, to expand their job options and education, which was great. However, the movement brought about a ton of terrible things for women like being proud to be a "slut" and treating stripping, prostitution, and porn as if they were empowering women. Barely anything, getting wasted, acting aggressive, sleeping around- those were things the women who started the movement never wanted to happen. What started out as a dignified movement of ladies seeking legal equality, has turned into an entitled, aggressive, hypersensitive, destructive hoard of girls who want to act like fools without any repercussions.. That's not equality, that stupidity. Saying hello or how are you, or some variation of "you look great" is hardly "assault". I totally get you have the right to be offended by whatever you want, however, you don't have a right to blame your insecurities on the crudeness of others. Don't let immature comments like that define you or hurt you so deeply like that. You're special and I mean that. We all are. If someone catcalls you, you can either 1. ignore them and keep walking. or 2. address them and end up having to deal with an even longer conversation with them. It's not worth it. Take the compliments and ignore the crude remarks is my suggestion. js God bless!

    • @carrie637
      @carrie637 5 лет назад +95

      ya boi skinny penis, stop being sexist. Catcalling originated from the belief that men were superior to women. It was, and still is, done as a form of sexual harassment. As for your belief that women should not show off their bodies as they please, stop telling them that they should not have the rights to their own bodies. It is not women’s jobs to prevent men from getting horny, it is men’s jobs to control themselves. Women get horny from what men wear, and from how they behave, so getting horny from what people do is not exclusive to men.

    • @vivikikeri4370
      @vivikikeri4370 5 лет назад +57

      @ya boi skinny penis You are so rude. I am not exaggerating. Cat calling is an assault. Don't talk to women on the road saying these comments. It's sexual assault.

    • @ButtonedUpBailey
      @ButtonedUpBailey 5 лет назад +46

      ya boi skinny penis sure, of course. I can see where you’re coming from. You would see a catcall as a compliment, right? I think that’s the difference, then, because not all women do. Some do, of course, but plenty don’t. Enough to make it a problem :/ And that goes for both men and women! Some men love being cat-called, but some are just uncomfortable. The thing is, with men, they’re supposed to hide their discomfort, because if they don’t, they’re “gay.”
      Also, I just don’t like that I have to make a choice between being “ugly” or being catcalled :/ Don’t you think it’s unfair? Why shouldn’t I be able to look nice without inviting sexual comments? And I don’t even mean “nice” as in showing cleavage or short shorts. Even just a cute top or some well-fitting jeans invite those comments sometimes. Don’t get me wrong, a genuine compliment (“I love your top!”/“You have very pretty eyes”) is fine - but overtly sexual comments (“Nice tits!”) are where I draw the line. But also, I know there’s nothing you or I can do about it though, because it’s a society-wide issue lol. We just have to be the most respectful people we could be.
      And yeah, sure, horniness is a perfectly understandable biological response. Men get horny, women get horny - no one can help it. It’s biology. So I see your point there. But where the line is drawn is what we do with that feeling. Will we tell our friends that we saw the cutest guy/girl on campus today? Sure, you’re not hurting anyone. That’s fine. But will we catcall them? Hell no! No matter how horny I am, I don’t want to risk making the other person uncomfortable in any way.
      And I can’t speak for all women, but if a hot guy were to catcall me, I would actually mind that a lot. No matter how hot someone may be, if he’s catcalling me, that’s symptomatic of something ugly deep down, and that’s an instant turn-off for me :/
      Sorry for the long comment lol. I guess I just have a lot on my mind.
