The Grand Soleil 52 is a classic and elegant, well built, powerful sloop by the world-renowned naval architect German Frers. This renowned Italian boatyard's standard of construction and finish ensures these vessels' longevity and discerning followers.
On deck: her aft cockpit has an oversized steering wheel that runs in a well for fingertip precision steering. There are several powerful Lewmar winches to control her generous sail plan. The primary winches are electric, and a Navtec Hydraulic system controls the backstay and her boom vang. Her beautiful laid teak runs the vessel's entire length, with ample hatches to ensure proper ventilation in hotter months.
Her welcoming interior is well laid out, practical at sea, whilst homely at anchor or in the marina. It is in a beautiful condition, thanks initially to her top pedigree built and subsequent careful owners. The U-shaped settee with table and central bench is to port, with additional comfortable seats and table to starboard. Her impressive navigation station is old fashioned in size, with clearly laid out instrumentation and electric panels.
Her practical galley is to port, with easy access to the companionway stairs and saloon. In addition, there are ample storage lockers for provisioning without cluttering her interior.
Her interior has six berths in three double cabins and, if required, a further two-fold-away berths in the forepeak. The sensational, full width, en-suite owners' cabin is aft. The guest cabins are forward of the saloon, one with a double berth and one with two bunks. They share a full-width head with access to the forepeak.
The current owner bought her in 2011 in the UK to cruise the North and South Pacific en route to Australia. They wanted a reasonably quick passage maker with a substantial displacement hull structure that would cope with most tropical and temperate conditions and be cruised remotely for extended periods. To be sailed by a couple, but with the option to sail with additional family and friends.
Her blue water inventory includes a Pagura 3000 Genset, watermaker, Windgen and a bow thruster for those tricky marinas.
