waka seems like a pretty cool dude...i'm not a fan of his music but i've heard him acknowledge that he knows he isen't a good rapper but that he's good at what he does, making party tracks, and i respect him for being a man and saying that out loud instead of going out an claim the throne like lil wayne

Why do you care about their "hoods" so much? The motivation behind most of these careers is to get as far away from their hood as possible. I know that would be my aim. I understand don't forget where you came from, but forget that, if I could choose I'm going with choice.
anthony alexander it isn't about why I care about their "Hoods" and it's not about forgetting where you come from but if you can actually go to the Hood you speak on without these bodyguards and police. Even Lupe can go back to Chicago. You got some of these rappers dying hard to live this Lifestyle and show how hard they actually were.. This is about Authenticity over Bullshit. aka William Roberts claiming Hes Rick Ross. Its about Supporting the Real. If Africans claim Africa wouldn't it make sense to go there and you see Africans and not everyone else but them? If this makes any sense.
But it *is* in fact about that, by it's very definition. If you are unable to go back to that particular neighborhood after personal success, then it's more a statement about that neighborhood rather than an indictment on anyone's character. More so than ever in this era of hiphop. I'm a nerdy white dude but I get along with "folks" because I am comfortable in my skin and at least here in in Cali, the universal rule is just "be cool" and people will be cool with you. I play pickup ball with killers, and have been around these "Gs" people listen to on record, and they are just like me. Now if I had something that will fuel people's envy, then I'm of course at-risk of being targeted. I'm not going to pull up to an aprtment complex where people are struggling to pay their $400 monthly rent with 5 years of their rent on my wrist. On principle it's disrespectful. The only one who had it like that was Tupac. Not everyone is as widely respected as him though.
Flocka's the realest dude...I'm a hip hop head but I still appreciate Waka and other commercial/party style rappers music. RIP Slim Dunkin

I agree with Waka about NY and ATL...I was born in Barbados, but raised in NY and then my mom moved my big bro and I down to ATL on the Eastside to be exact and now livin' in Marietta,Ga, well I stay in Connecticut cus of college while the big bro lives in Athens,Ga with his wife...growin up in NY they don't greet you if they dont know you then movin' to ATL it was totally different, NY is fast paced and ATL slow paced lol...I remember them clubs, Im 21, and I dont club as much as I used to lol.
