This is the first house that I’ve ever seen that truly blurs the line between indoor and outdoor. Sweeping grass clippings from the kitchen floor would be a new experience, but one I’d welcome. I’m sure Jac and her family love living there.
Now that was a beautifully done architectural build. My favorite was the quaint courtyard that was right off the kitchen. And all the different levels. I love that aspect of any home
Beautiful collaboration between the owners and architect. I love how Johns design is sympathetic to the traditional villa lean to. Creating beautiful and functional spaces, without going the typical route of grafting an ultra modern design to the traditional. Retaining the original style wire gate is delightful. Elegant and interesting use of materials. Congratulations to all involved. After looking at Johns projects on his website, I’m a huge fan!
Wonderful blend of the pre-existing and the new and how they complement each other and how the new brings the indoor and Outdoors together. Great collaboration and use of color and texture and I noticed the solar panels on a new addition. Well done guys very well done. Bravo!
The shrubbery under the main house makes it look almost like a large tree house and the new addition is quite fitting for that tropical vibe. Another great project, and the slogan for this house should be "why go outside when you can have outside inside" 😊
Looks very light, as angels flying in there. But I've seen this idea of living Steps at lowering space at some 70s80s design huge houses - it was awesome there too.
Oh dear! This is in Australia and all I can think of is spiders coming to sit down beside you as you read your book in the garden room Aaaggghhh!!!!! I went to Australia and toured various places for a month many years ago and found it the most beautiful country but I encountered far too many spiders and flies I would never dare go back, not to mention we were sprayed with organophosphates before we left the aeroplane and it made me really ill! Lovely house though for those without my phobias. Namaste 🙏
In a weird ways this is how most asians in the tropics live! Out door flows into external living area like kitchen and living spaces with garden. The Vietnamese would love this house
Im amazed by all the houses on the channel but it makes me wonder, aren't there Jurassic bugs in Australia? I mean everything is so open to the outdoors.
Ha, yes, my daughter is obsessed with catching those bugs, the garden is mainly natives so we have all types!! She's also allergic to mosquitos so as soon as dusk is approaching we slide the mesh screens closed to keep the bugs out. During the day we get lots of butterflies passing through which is lovely!
That area of grass is fairly isolated in terms of water flow so we only have to deal with what falls on it alone from the sky and a fair bit of drainage just under the grass surface along the door edge 👌
We had intense floods earlier in the year with record rainfall, the spoon drain installed below the grass where it meets the concrete did a good job and we didn't get any water in the home, feel very grateful as some of our lower lying neighbours were not so fortunate.
Beautiful! Q: what’s the price tag for the full reno? Also, this home is suited for a particular weather. It definitely wouldn’t work in Minnesota where I live.
Nice extension. My only issue is it feels too enclosed to me. The large window that’s built into the angled ceiling between the main property and annex is stunning and I would have featured something like that in the kitchen area, along with the ability to close it off from the sun. Simple skylights wound almost suffice.
does anyone knows where I can watch such an architectural videos/documentaries that show 'real life' example? as in there are stuffs in every corner of the room, foods on the dining tables, kids running in the house, someone works at their workspace, etc. I really appreciate this kind video, it's great and nice to watch, but why havent i found videos i've mentioned before?
Everything looks good except for the fact that the house is up in the air 😮This kind of design makes me feel somewhat insecure because the wooden pillars do not seem to be strong enough to hold it perfectly well enough. Maybe it is just my personal preference though. I don’t feel safe 😢 Thanks for sharing! It makes me feel better that I am alive and have things to talk to. Wish I can have my own home someday!
Snakes , spiders , mosquitoes , insects etc. the list goes on . But then this house doesn't have that much of a ' garden ' space anyway . It's mostly concrete with a few pockets of green . South and South East Asian garden houses actually deserve that gardening tag .
There’s really not many bugs here! The house is fully screened, they just slide out of the way to make large openings when you want to connect to the garden 🙏
The design is quite quirky. The elegance of the original home's roofline seems to be lost and it has been extruded out way too far. I think there should always be a distraction between old and new.
Worth checking out the plan & diagram on my website. The extension is very seperate to the original house which remains almost untouched. The verandah remains as a breezeway dividing the new and old. Like most of my work, it’s designed to be experienced from within rather than a drone 🙏
this reads like an ad for a certain brand of products. At that point I switched off and I don't understand why they don't have to admit to a paid promotion. Grr!

A job well done. Xx
This is one of the most inspired designs I’ve seen. It’s like a dream.
Thanks 🙏

Every part and corner of the house makes me feel so satisfied and aesthetic
Wow! Who would not want to live there. The peace and serenity are palpable. Terrific job. ❤️
Thanks 🙏
That bathroom at 7:00 looks stunning! The frosted glass with the plants ghosting against it, wow
My favourite room in the house!
@@jellway your signature glass!
One of the best homes I've seen in my house. I am so in love.
Like, I'm obsessed with the home owner!! I want to be her friend.
The brass is spot on, matches the green and white, softens the area and yet implies strength. Not standard indeed.
It has a North American southern charm to…this definitely one of my favorites.
this is such a beautiful concept. such a beautiful home. the amount of light integrated into the space brings me so much joy.
Beautiful design. I like the garden in between..
Now that was a beautifully done architectural build. My favorite was the quaint courtyard that was right off the kitchen. And all the different levels. I love that aspect of any home
Everything lines up perfectly! I love the precision, the materials, and the design!
Love it when it all lines up!
the direct connection from dining to garden is a wonderful idea
I love how you guys do these!
There is very good design and best estimated
I am very excited to seen it's
I love it thank you so much

Love the play of levels and the connection between platforms. The dual function kitchen storage and seating. Genius!
Nice to see a house in my own town 👍
It has an Eichler vibe and flow to it...

Beautiful home and the addition to have a cottage connected the garden is awesome. Something to maybe put on a wish list.
Makes me think of Fallingwater, lovely design!
這個家簡直太棒了,電器家具一體化,又便利又簡約又美觀,太舒適了。
Beautiful vision and manifestation.
this house is so dreamy
Has a SEA colonnial vibe to it where there's good ventilation.
Love the simple wooden sofa/ sitting area and love the toilet too.
Ugh this continues to be my favorite channel. Everything is so great top to bottom
1 word: WOW!!!
Ang ganda...
dream cottage getaway!
Beautiful and relaxing, a real piece of art 👌
初めまして。とても素敵な家ですね💞まるで家全体が温室のようで庭と部屋が一体化されていて、プールまであるなんて!!インテリアもシンプルでとてもいいわ。私もこんな素敵な家に暮らしてみたいです😊♬🌟
Beautiful house.... ❤
This is my dream house. Beautiful
Great production and great Content, Bravo!!!
Many thanks!
Love the ambiance of the house so much. The traditional cottage home seems a bit similar to the traditional malay house in Malaysia
It's funny you should say that, Queenslander houses are basically adapted colonial houses from South East Asia.
I’m speechless. It’s soooo good 👍👍👍
I love this house!
That is a wonderful piece of design. Architecture at its best.
Wow, love the materials.
Us too!
Beautiful ❤
Knowing Paddington well, it is a great fit for the suburb. Although corner block might be a bit noisy with all the traffic!
It's pretty good as it is a house up from the corner 👌
Absolutely beautiful!!!
such a beautifully crafted home
Completely agreed.
Love from keral❤️

All rooms are screened, they just slide away out of sight 👌 more pics on my website.
So beautiful
Lovely house
looks awesome, great job!
Awesome.
Beautiful
This is unique! ❤
Simplesmente fabuloso!!!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thanks 🙏
That's my dream home, concrete and wood
In a weird ways this is how most asians in the tropics live! Out door flows into external living area like kitchen and living spaces with garden. The Vietnamese would love this house
Not a dissimilar climate here. A little more mild, but plenty of humidity and seasonal rain!
Im amazed by all the houses on the channel but it makes me wonder, aren't there Jurassic bugs in Australia? I mean everything is so open to the outdoors.
This project has a lot of bronze mesh screens. They just happen to slide out of the way when you want to fully open up (to make lovely films :)
@@jellway 😂 That makes so much sense.

Really great projet ! Very welcoming and warm
beautiful
Beautiful! What happens during a downpour? Does the dining room kitchen flood?

Yes and you have free sweet water for a week 😂
Как же красиво
Beautiful!
Q: what’s the price tag for the full reno? Also, this home is suited for a particular weather. It definitely wouldn’t work in Minnesota where I live.
We were lucky that the existing cottage was in great condition, mainly needed new electrical and painting which really helped budget wise.
Wow
the site is a gift ...easy job.
Great site, but it still takes alot of effort by all to get the outcome!
@@jellway ....i would find a flat greenfield site way more of a challenge ...
@@bepitan I'd agree with that, no constraints are really hard!

An ideal house in a world with no bugs.
or Kangaroos
a dream

You can check out Buildofy!
The his gorgeous... but when it rains.. also bugs?
Both are catered for in the design, see my earlier comments :)
Siemens Miele Samsung Bosch Smeg Gaggenau Wolf etc all do seamless integrated appliances
Uaaaaau
I wonder from the shots taken at the front of the home if what appear to be garage doors are just that .
No garage doors, just a parking area off the street. One day a carport roof could be added.
Everything looks good except for the fact that the house is up in the air 😮This kind of design makes me feel somewhat insecure because the wooden pillars do not seem to be strong enough to hold it perfectly well enough. Maybe it is just my personal preference though. I don’t feel safe 😢

Is that cement floor and wall?
Polished concrete floor & smooth rendered block wall
It's all magnifical until you find a spider or even worse a snake hiding under your sheets
Not one comment about this guy being named "John Elway"?🤔
hahahah, winner! 🏈
@@jellway thankyou sir! 🙏🙏
garden of eden 2.0
love it but would have liked to see the kitchen window close
Poisonous spiders and snakes had input to the design brief too...
Just Koalas, Kangaroos & Crocodiles

beautiful, but not sure how comfortable those couches would be?
Simply a Bugs,insects haven... Right?
Only insects with 10 legs here!
Nice house, but my head is turning around with that camerawork and very slow pace.... Just a opinion.
Such a big house and no clothes to wear
Are so many rich ppl in Australia?for average in USA this house luxury
🫠
The feeling I get is mental intuition, maybe it’s her outfit?
just wonder how the owner handle all the insects ants and flies 😂
There’s really not many bugs here! The house is fully screened, they just slide out of the way to make large openings when you want to connect to the garden 🙏
This house did not remind me of a garden, but more like a modern home.

The concrete backsplash was a mistake
It has a special sealer on it that can deal with splatters 👌
Cant tell if this videos Frame rate is off or its me haha
I tried to watch this on TV but the background music was so high I couldn't hear what they are saying. Watching this on mute now.
I mean its neat but it yells IKEA instead of a cozy home.
Nonchalance
Mosquitoes ? Insects ? Dusts ? .............?
