    Likely one of the most underrated musicians of all time, even with popularity he achieved. As much as I enjoyed the movie La Bamba, my favorite 3 minutes of that movie was listening to him channel Buddy with a modern twist. If you have a true appreciation for what Buddy Holly's impact was on music, you have to love this guy. If he would have been alive and performing in the 50s and 60s with those riffs, voice, and ultra cool laid back swagger, he would have been as popular as Elvis and the Beatles.

    • @Jesuscomessoonable
      @Jesuscomessoonable 2 года назад +4

      EVEN more famous than Elvis as he was very creative when it came to composing new hits... He influenced the most important popular band of all time, the beatles... So that is an important achievment!!!! Regards from Chile and enjoy the good music.

      I saw La Bamba when I was young, and JUST like you said: the scene with Crenshaw playing (and Philips on the payphone), and the scene where he “channels Buddy” (like you said) before the plane takes off, were also my favorite scenes of the film. Even though the song was/is upbeat, the scene just has this dark or disparate undertone to it. It was just so powerful.

I love Marshall's version of this song...I love all the music in the movie La Bamba...every artist did his own spin on the originals giving it a current vibe...but still stayed true to the classic sound. The soundtrack is truly amazing. Marshall is excellent live and that solo was pretty much badass. He's got a swagger to him...love him.

Phenomenal performances on stage and off and was even nominated for academy award but i also love Marshall Crenshaws performance in La Bamba too but Marshall is not an actor but had a very good line in the film which i loved "The sky belongs to stars"
