I'd like to second everyone here and highly encourage y'all to listen to the whole album from start to finish. Each track was arranged to feed into the next with no significant break, only pausing in the middle where you would have had to turn the record over. This is one of the greatest concept songs ever written. It must listened to in the context of the album, especially with the follow-on song Great Gig in the Sky. As I understand it, this song Time is about the life of a human being from conception to death. The clocks chiming is the beginning of life, followed by the heartbeats. The drums/instrumental music leading up to the lyrics signifies the growth of the newborn until the age of self-awareness, which the lyrics indicate as a realization that one has wasted much time and you need to get moving with living a productive life before it passes you by. The guitar solo is so masterful and signifies the person living his/her life to the fullest, with the soul soaring to the greatest heights of fulfillment. As the guitar solo slows down into the final lyrics the life of the person is also slowing down, the days get shorter and finally the song of the life of the person is over. This represents the death of the person and the end of Time. It is actually the end of the song Time as well because it transition into the song Breathe, which is about the funeral of the person who died before the following song Great Gig in the Sky, which is about their (PF) interpretation of the experience of the soul winging its flight into the eternal realm. Time is a masterpiece.

Pink Floyd create an atmosphere and they take their time, a lot of their songs are longer than modern ears are used to, they need space and time to be absorbed, it's a journey to be relished rather than concerns about getting to a destination. Guys, you don't really need anybody to tell you what the song is about, you nailed it!! The only thing I would say is that Pink Floyd has four albums that should be listened to from start to finish, as they are concept albums and every song relates to the others, in fact it is hard to tell where one song ends and the next starts, as there is no space between. And don't worry about talking, after all it is YOUR reaction we are watching!! I would ask, however, that you rewind it back 5 or 10 seconds when you do pause, to not miss anything.
Just subscribed after ya’lls great reaction to this masterpiece. There isn’t a person around who upon listening to this isn’t affected by it in some way.

@@iambecomepaul those self proclaimed purists can be harsh. I only suggest listening straight thru, you're cheating yourself out of context. You wouldn't read a chapter from the middle of a book and know what's going on would you?
@@joeljoss1916 I mean… you make a point. But if starting in chapter 5 of Moby Dick enthralls me to the point where I finish what I’m reading THEN go back and start from chapter one, does my understanding get hurt? Sure. It’s not an ORTHODOX way of consuming the album but even you and I can agree: this ain’t gonna be the last time they listen to this. I simply chafe at all the “supposed rules” about consuming albums. You make a straight, decent point, no doubt. But I don’t think anything REALLY gets lost if you “buck the system” for your first run-through. My opinion only, though.

Pink Floyd has long intros a lot of the time to get your mind right for the journey you are about to take with their lyrics. They have many great songs and are a Unique Band has their own Brand of music .
looking forward to your reactions, be wary of where you pause. You chose the most dramatic part of the song to make your first pause. Note: never pause during a david gilmour guitar solo
Do you think that Roger Waters wrote this one was 28 years old and had such wisdom this song becomes more relevant the older we get if you listen to the Darkside of the moon, this song deal with all the issues of life Time, taking away war, which is a synonym just things that pertain to human because you don’t dance to Pink Floyd you sit back, relax and go on a trip with them

Pink Floyd create an atmosphere and they take their time, a lot of their songs are longer than modern ears are used to, they need space and time to be absorbed, it's a journey to be relished rather than concerns about getting to a destination. There have been a couple of generations of music fans who have never developed much concentration span, want things instant, upbeat and pounding, with songs that have the hook up front with lots of repetition and often little that is unique, or with much depth or insight. It's very reassuring to see so many reaction channels discovering there is an alternative to the throw away music culture, and so much of the music of decades ago still has a universal appeal and the power to move and make folks think.

This is such a great song. I'm very excited to see your Pink Floyd journey. You're likely to get some blow back in your comments about pausing a David Gilmour guitar solo. It's considered by a lot of Pink Floyd fans to be disrespectful. Just a heads up. Lol ✌🏽
Lol, at least it was right at the start 😅. The worst are those fellow Floyd fans who start demanding the only possible proper way to listen is the album in full in order. Of course we get the point but when it's someone who has just discovered Floyd why dump on them?
@@swfcocs1great point! Do we expect ALL newcomers to have some bizarre listening “rules” already baked in? Such foolishness. Enjoy the music as you like. Resist “the man” and his rules! LMAO
Not sure I have not enjoyed a good buzz listening to Floyd.
Pausing, that means like moving as in sitting or getting up? Ok I will think about it lol
You got it. You have to listen over and over. Preferably with a cool buzz and some tasty head phones 🤘. Oh and shag carpet doesn’t hurt either 🙃
Great job guys! Long time PF fan here. You should try the song after this one on the album Dark Side of the Moon, "The Great Gig In The Sky" (studio version). I'm sure you'll like it. Keep up the good work!
Remember listening to this as an Teenager Thinking what's it going to be like when you do hit 40 plus now I am Sat here now aged 62 And I've lived through every part of this song And I'm at the point that every Sunday far away across the fields I hear the tolling of the iron bell that Draws the faithful to their knees to hear the softly spoken magic spell
Hey local lads. SA. Welcome to what we grew up with. PF write albums not songs and you have to play their albums start to finish. Not to mention some of the deep lyrics. Enjoy and stay the distance. Dave natal.
As the DJ on the radio used to say, "Hey everybody, It's Time.
Ya, this is a full listean every track if your real musicians you should know this
Now you learned more about our generation.
Do you think that Roger Waters wrote this one was 28 years old and had such wisdom this song becomes more relevant the older we get if you listen to the Darkside of the moon, this song deal with all the issues of life Time, taking away war, which is a synonym just things that pertain to human because you don’t dance to Pink Floyd you sit back, relax and go on a trip with them
Nice job your doing. Remember your cord on the headphones on your left ear.
Shine on you crazy Diamond pts 1-5
Nice reaction (:
Such a superb album , I think your microphone needs sorting out , I could hear the music fine , but I couldn't hardly hear you two speaking , I'm on a laptop at full volume .
it is disrespectful to chop a piece of art up
you ruin both the context and continuity when you pause toooo long you paused so damn long you should start the song over you completely ruined the build up to the guitar solo RUINED IT
