Reminds me of when I worked at a VAG dealer we had a customer kept coming back complaining about intermittent oil warning light coming on on his brand new Golf GTI (this was late 1980's). Anyway I checked oil level and pressure, tested the two pressure switches, checked the wiring etc, replaced the dynamic oil pressure warning control unit, carried out many road tests, but we could never replicate the problem. Eventually VAG UK authorised us to strip the engine and when I removed the central main bearing cap discovered that the factory hadn't bothered to fit the lower half of the main bearing shell 🤦‍♂️
It ran perfectly for nearly 2000 miles, no noise, just an occasional brief flash of the oil light (and buzzer in them days). 🤣😂

You fully know it buddy now these cars have new fangled ways of ensuring the drivers can be absolutely clueless about maintenance and looking after their cars and we are seeing more of these issues
