The item at around 4:20 is a mallet. The two openings on either side of the handle had soft material to persuade things into position. I've seen the with rolled rawhide, copper, lead, plastic, etc.
My step dad is a full blooded Indian and he would tell me stories from when he was a kid about his grandmother carrying around a small turtle shell made into a tobacco pouch that had been handed down through the years
What a great day out Beau, love the 'live dig' and the reveal on that US plate - awesome. Nice run of finds there, look forward to the next mate - Happy Fossicking! Warren.
Awesome video fellas! Congratulations on that us belt plate! You guys saved some amazing history! Videos like this one chig is what got my kids and myself into metal detecting and eventually starting up our own detecting channel on RUclips! Keep up the good work!
Had to chcuckle a bit, as a friend used those same words, telling me, "You're one of the lucky ones". I wasn't sure how they meant it at the time. You've given me a better, more positive interpretation. Thanks, Beau. BTW, I enjoyed the adventure! I had watched many videos before I understood why wheat pennies were a good thing. Lots for me to still learn.
Awesome day Chig I love watching you collaborate with smaller channels. Congrats mike your almost half way to that 1k subscriber goal. GR8 Finds y'all I really like the old lead artifact's but the belt buckle is my favorite.
What awesome finds chigg. Congrats on your box plate an your bullets. That always makes for an awesome creek hunt. Great video chigg. We shall catch you on your next adventure . As always safe and happy hunting/digging.😁👍👍
Yes, the Chig is finding Civil War goodies in the creeks again, my wishes have come true!!!! Please keep these types of videos coming, we love them! You doing those videos was the inspiration for me to start metal detecting which I am crazy about, thanks again! Cheers Vic
Welllllll… this message is to Mike. I got a email from RUclips letting me know you replied to my comment and I wanted to reply to send my thanks but looks like it’s deleted. One of your first videos I watched was about the large amount of coins you found at an old river crowing…. I remember you found 100’s of silver dollars. What’s the link to that video… I’d like to watch it again. Also do you ever do museum videos about your collection?
Very good finds today! But the least of them, for me, was the most provocative. Fifty-odd years ago, it was assumed in my area the two best beers were Budweiser and Schmidt's. Somewhere along the way, I moved to another part of the country and Schmidt's disappeared. Due to your find, I now know Christian Schmidt Brewing went out of business in 1987. Thanks!
odd curved bit is the handle off of a mug. the tiny protuberance is the spot you anchor you thumb to. might have been a wooden tankard w/ a metal handle. they hooked over the rim of the wood, or onto the bands that held the wooden parts together, IF it was made like a barrel.
Chig... I m thinking that copper tube thing, is the reel holder part off of a fishing rod. And probably the butt end of an old fly rod. I'm pretty sure I've seen them on old fishing rods 🎣 And here, I paused the video to make a comment. I pushed play, and you got it 👍 lol
13:37 Looks like a small spyglass. I have my Great-Great-Great Grandaddy's CSA spyglass. It has lost the front lens but same shape, movement and metal.
That hammer was used to put a cork on the side of those wooden barrels from the moonshine days . The cork was placed in the hole of the hammer then hit with another hammer that was so they didn't hit their fingers.
Hello Chiggs from Minnesota 😎😎 Bucket list dream to go metal detecting with you! 😎😎 Have you ever dug with twins? We guarantee a double fun filled adventure! 😎😎
Hello again Twin Diggers. I wanted to let you know that I recently lost my channel. I have to start over again. Re subscribe if you want too. Thank you again🙂. Mike
If this is a civil war area, that bone might very well have been sawn in half to extract the marrow. Those soldiers had little to eat and were very resourceful. Don't know if that bone would have survived all this time, though.
That tube thing is a base to a antique fishing rod. The base of the reel is still inside of it.
The item at around 4:20 is a mallet. The two openings on either side of the handle had soft material to persuade things into position. I've seen the with rolled rawhide, copper, lead, plastic, etc.
That fish carved bullet is fantastic!!! I ❤️ it!!! They carved some cool stuff with the bullets!!!
Awesome finds Chigg . That bullet carved into a fish was special. It’s really incredible what all was lost in the creeks and rivers .
Would be cool if the bullets could tell stories sometimes.
Great finds!! I would have cried if I'd found that box plate too!!😭😀💜
Some nice finds. Hi Mike Gr8 finds! Lucky guy hanging with The Chigg! He's a wealth of knowledge!👍🎧✌️

My step dad is a full blooded Indian and he would tell me stories from when he was a kid about his grandmother carrying around a small turtle shell made into a tobacco pouch that had been handed down through the years
My grandad was of the Cherokee Nation and they used small turtle shells to make rattles, I'm sure like every other animal, they used everything

Wow Chigg! @ 13:20 you found a Jedi Padiwan/Youngling -Training Lightsaber. Very rare find indeed.

Awesome day Chig I love watching you collaborate with smaller channels.
Congrats mike your almost half way to that 1k subscriber goal.
GR8 Finds y'all I really like the old lead artifact's but the belt buckle is my favorite.
that mallet with the hollow faces would've had leather tightly rolled and shoved into the holes to act as a soft striking face
ditto!
That's what came to mind as soon as I seen it.
Thor hammers have leather one end, copper on the other.
I thought it was a rawhide mallet too.
Awesome day for you guys outdoors in the water great fines chigger 👍
Woo hoo GR8 Finds & the Chigg! Congratulations guys on some awesome finds!

Great episode, Mike sounds exactly like Bill Paxton.
Nice video and great finds.
I saw something about five inches long and oval shaped when you picked up that smashed bullet . Just to the top right .
Thanks Chigg

Looks like another spot to research. Once I saw that Gardner it said skirmish!
Beautiful area
It looks like a Rawhide hammer or mall used for stone work that's what I used it for

You are a great guy for helping Mike get started. What was his channel’s name?
Nice finds! Was a good day!!
Almost drowned, forgot to tell me to "Hold your breath." 😮 on the first dive 😆
Nice video, bruddah🌸🤙🌸
Hes Done that to me MANY times!! Hahaha
Best vids on the tube 👌love aquachigger he's a smart guy
That was the remains of a leather faced mallet thrown back. Highly probable Civil War.

Very Nice Guys...
Love the belt buckle
You know it’s gonna be a great video when chig uploads with him facing the camera (not like all his videos aren’t great because they’re awesome)
NICE FIND FOR A DAY ON THE RIVER WELL DONE .
Awwww I'm so glad you found a buckle!💕
Box plate...
Awesome finds mr chigg
is it bad that your song has eclipsed magic carpet ride as the predominant song to be stuck in my head at any given time
mother nature has her secrets she promises to keep...
Nice day on the water and I am sure you taught the newbie much.
Hi from Syracuse NY
Awesome buckle!
Hope you find gold!
your bit of tube on a wood handle looks like a Thor copper hide hammer, minus the inserts,
buckle !!!! congratulations !!!!
Awsome finds
Confederate Gardner and a Yankee cartridge pouch plate? Something happened there!
That was an ohmyneedit find with the buckle Bo WTG!!
Looks like it could be a Montauge city Rod Company reel seat for a fly fishing rod.

I missed the wood in the middle comment, Beau! Still cool find.
Can't wait to see what worldly treasures you find next
The item. at 4:20 looks like a hide hammer that would have rawhide rolled at the ends
13:50 looks like a fishing rod reel seat possible from a old fly fishing rod.
I held my breath but I got water in my ears, lol
The bullet that was carved was attached to the cylinder found near it....it probably had a hook on it and was used for fishing
The handle is a fishing reel seat for a fishing rod.
1937, that penny could get a landed a kid some candy 🍭.
The item in the 12:12 vicinity made me think of the end of a ram rod.
Chigg cracks me up !
Love ya CHIGG
The steel tube with the wooden handle was a coiled leather ended hammer for heavy delivering non marring blows. I have one just like it.
Hello Mike 😁

Made me Wana cry...what a spot
Congratulations! :)
The thing you said might be a tire stem valve actually looks kind of like a hole punch for canvas to put in grommets.
The what's it is a fishing pole and as I was writing you figured it out!!
The 'coppery tube thing' is off a fishing rod. It holds the reel on the handle.
Is that US plate a from the Union?
Sure is! What an awesome find and rescue on that piece of history!
@bonezcustoms on Instagram
@@theanxious Yes that really was a great find. Great piece of US history for sure.
reminds me of a cleaning rod feral that was plated originaly
The hammer lookin object in the beginning portion looked like it could be a dead blow hammer. Caps could've come off, but that would be my guess.
That is what I think too.
Yeah raw hide is my guess I've seen them in every machinesst shops
At first i was like 'Wow what a beautiful stream, i would love to go swining there or tubing." then the rooting dear "Um never mind"
