@@D1amondeyes what? It most certainly does. I live here in Wasilla next to the Little Su, and it freezes every year & we ride snowmachines on it. This series is BS and made up drama. There's a very nice electrical grid all over this area and this was nice but not necessary.

we had somthing similar, but less than a 1/4 in size, but had to remove it because, according to them , it was 'hindering', the naturallflow of the river, although we had it in a side flow of the main river, which was over 50 yards across.

Add a 150mfd ac run capacitor in series (you will have 3 capacitors total), in each leg from the pmg.....then run it thru the diode bridge.....you also need to make sure your pmg is rewired for 24v operation to reduce cut in speed and binding under load.....
The main problem is that in northern summer you need little energy and get a lot of energy througt solar-panels. The problems arise in winter - when there is little sunshine and low temperatures (that make the rivers freeze)
Why not combine the first idea with the second idea. Use the belt reduction pulleys and the direct drive system as well. It could produce twice as much power and it could work it parallel together.
@@steyer-crmg My English is not that great. Visualize the wheel turning, the boards he attached (extended inward) will have a larger surface extending into the water when the wheel is turning.

How is this going to work when the river floods? I have a stream behind my house. But when it floods, large logs and uprooted trees go with the water. Main reason I haven't tried anything like this.
Yes, overly dramatic. . . I disagree with the gearing thing, I get that it seems to work with that big belt looped all the way around the paddle wheel, but its not going to work long, and will break. But mainly, its a matter of the Arm, and Moment of the Arm. . .Leverage of the paddle. . .There is more leverage from the big looping belt, verses trying to turn the pully from the center. . .End Result??? Basically if the paddles were wider, with longer board paddle, it would be able to turn from the center.
Interesting point. Should there also be signs upstream to kayakists don’t get their heads cut with the wire? Man, makeshift is awesome, but engineering for the real world is mundane.
wouldn't it be much more efficient to run a pelton wheel setup, with an intake into a hose and the discharge bleow the wheel back out into the creek? seems to me like it would be much smaller in size as well.... anyways, just a thought...

On the plus side it reduces drag created by adding more gears. Maybe some kind of different belt, but keep it same drive system.

want to make it from palladium?.. I turn aluminum into palladium.. with a torch
light as aluminum and stronger than steel
does not oxidize...it's a room temperature superconductor
do you know how sailboats move into the wind?... the sail doesn't push... it pulls
by moving sideways across the flow of wind
