00:01:44 Ha! I’ve seen two of this guy’s videos… both times he has acknowledged that he was showcasing a knife that is not slip joint… Ha. Enjoyed the video. Thanks for sharing.
I like these large traditionals, would love to have one of those old automatic ones. Cool knife. Original type was called a folding safety knife by Marbles Knives sometime around 1906.
My first Cheetah was back around 1970 in the old red bone. Well time and divorse separated us. I recently bought a 2002 Silver Script Case XX Cheetah. It's the most beautiful knife Case has produced in my opinion. And it was not a auto, to the best of my knowledge, unless it was way before my time.
@@slipjointguy I absolutely love the new one, but I'm not so thrilled about the engraved cheetah on the blade. As far as quality is concerned, I'd have to give it to the newer silver text knife.
Switch blades have always been available to the public! They have never been illegal to own. Just illegal to carry! yes, they became illegal to carry in the fifties. But, you could always buy, them. Heck, most gas stations in the inner city will sell them if they sell knives and truckstops! and of course gunshows. I bought a switch blade at a show in the eighties and a cop was wanting to check my knife out. not giving me a problem just being friendly and told me all that. which I already knew. Awesome knife man!
You were mentioned on Paddy's potato peelers live broadcast. Hope you get some more subs.I wish case would spend more time removing scratches from their finishes. Thanks good review. Missed the price.
Old Fool oh really! I’ll have to check him out! Case been doing a lot better lately, the LED lighting makes the scratches appear worse than they really are.
I seen the paddy live stream a few minutes ago, he said you mentioned me to him. Thanks man! I did get a few more subs too! I forgot to mention the price you said, well, I had these priced at $68.95 shipped. Thanks again!
Really good knives I know case went to this 3 tiers of quality now but I'm always a case xx lover to the end they are great knives I buy both new and vintage case I love them

Jim Archibald how is the new cheetah compared to the older one you once had? I always heard the pre 79 case knives are gec quality.

I have this model but to me the color is better on yours
All knives are legal in south Carolina

Is the swing guard piece stainless or cv?
I’d be willing to bet stainless
Subbed
Your blade is 1095 with added chromium & vanadium, Stainless Steel has been proven to be the superior blade.
Proven by who?
@@BaconBeast11 Cedric and aida RUclips channel did an edge retention comparison between them this may be what he was referring to...
@@kevinAuman1 yah and the CV steel on the test out performed the tru sharp.
Do some metallurgy jim
😂 you apparently don't use your knives! lol!
Is the Case logo pined or is it just glued on?
Always glued since the 70s or 80s
@@slipjointguy jezz, just go no shield then.
@@nobodysreview6137 no one except GEC pins shields now
do they make some with stainless steel?
Caucasian_ Asian yup
The Case Cheetah swing guard is a bit silly, almost a novelty knife. That said? I own a Cheetah in zebra pattern bone. Pure 70s pimp!
