Hello, thank for you sharing. I just start to integrate DEVONthink To my workflow. I just put my Mendeley folder into DEVONthink and use them seamlessly.

@@iHugoLin Oh then Mendeley makes sense! One of my writing/editing clients is in orthopedics and does QI-related work, and I use Mendeley to manage her references. But when I'm drafting papers I import the related articles we will be citing into DEVONthink, where I can read them, annotate, and take notes! ~Avigail

Do you think that non-historians - but academic researchers in other fields could benefit from one of the courses? I just found your channel and I'm trying to master my workflows to keep the publication pipeline moving. I'm adding DevonThink to my toolstack...but I don't see many resources for getting onboarded.

Our Starting Up Guide will definitely help you learn the basic functions of DEVONthink and give you a sense of how to think about organizing/linking your documents. I'd say that our Super User Guide offers more value for archival researchers, because of our SuperAnnotation template and scripts, but it does include content relevant to every DT user as well. What field are you in, out of curiosity??

@@DEVONThinkforHistorians I do social science research. Love Zotero for keeping the Citation info...not the best for seeing connections across articles. I've looked at (new player - Obsidian) and recently learned of DEVONthink...trying to consider the best use cases for each area. I'm not a new academic, but in a new position and ready to pick a system that will work and grow with me for the rest of my career. :)

@@facultysuccesscoach Congrats on the new position! I def think DT is a great tool for social scientists, particularly if you are consistently bringing together multiple kinds of sources/evidence (e.g. semi-structured interview transcripts + secondary lit) and want to be able to group/regroup them flexibly. For example, a database could contain a group of transcripts, and another group of journal articles on topic X, but if those transcripts and articles are all individually tagged you could easily pull together a Smart Group of all transcripts and articles tagged with sub-topic Y. That's pretty handy when you're writing a section of a larger project, and want to maximize focus/minimize distraction.
