First off: absolutely love that dress, it's absolutely adorable, second off: the issue is based on the fact the Jojo Siwa grew up as a celebrity, and everything she does has been watched and monetized, she knows nothing else
You nailed it when you said authenticity is the issue. Is anything about Jojo's personality authentic? She has been marketed since she was a little kid. I wonder if she really knows who she is. She always seems to be playing a character and bless her heart, the dancing in that video is just awful. She literally looks like she's having a seizure.
I love how you finally explained that jojo siwa's whole failure to rebrand is because she is "pretending" to be an adult, she, like a child, has an idea of what it's like to be an adult and just portrays that idea - sex, money, drugs, you know. But it is abundantly clear that the idea she has of adulthood is just an idea. She's clearly ignorant and immature.
Her PR team should’ve still sticked with the ribbons and bright colors but instead of “kid-like” it would be more “elegant” and feminine. Symbolizing also her maturity.
One of my first gig's after to moving to LA was as a PA in film the frist project was with JoJo Siwa for this Nick promo. To be fair was was a bit ago now BUT her mother was a fucking nightmare for that gig. The most entitled, rude, belittling, awful human I had the unfortunate luck of working with. It wasn't even that she was that way as a form to protect her daughter she was just that way to, in my eyes to use her own daughter. Ugh. I hated that day. Maybe her mother is different now but seeing how she was I can only imagine having a parent like that and the type of person you become because of that up brining.
thnx....MOST VALUABLE COMMENT ON THIS SHITTY,SELF RIGHTEOUS THREAD >>MAGNIFIYING PRETTY OVER SMART OR REASONABLE..mOM IS AN npd MONSTER,,,,SHE (JO-YO) WILL GET THERE HERSELF,,,VERY VERY FAST...
I think her mom played a major part in Jojo’s behavior. Even if Jojo looked happy and bubbly on camera, we don’t know the full story and how she was treated by her mom.
To me one issue, besides the un organic change, is her perspective. You can tell she is a dancer. The outfits look costume, the video set looks cheap, like a school theater play. She has the vision of a dancer not an holistic artistic view.
This whole rebrand isn’t really a rebrand though. She’s still obnoxiously vibrant and over the top the color of the glitter just changed. A serious rebrand for her would’ve been similar to lady Gaga going from her early career to her style during the Joanne album. An actual reigned in more mature style and instead of trying to do an “edgy” pop song going for a serious ballad or acoustic number that just had great lyrics.
@@semnome9536 agreed she was just a quick example that I thought of. Not comparing their bodies of work at all, there’s rly no contest there. It was just a good example of how to do a tone shift successfully.
I appreciate that you never say it but your outfit is a beautiful and classy alternative that would align with Jojo's former brand and current rebrand. Black, sparkles, bows, and skulls. I see you. I love the outfit
I think she tried a Miley Cyrus rebrand, yet she doesn’t feel comfortable with it. She doesn’t want to be revealing or suggesting, so this is what happened. However, she doesn’t need to be suggestive to change her brand. Lady Gaga went from an extravagant artist to an “average” style. Sabrina Carpenter went from a modest child star to having a hit song without being drastic
JoJo Siwa has a middle schooler's understanding of maturity. She was kept in that child star bubble for so long, that now she has all these adult freedoms but none of the experience or emotional intelligence to handle them - and most young adults fumble a bit, but they normally do it in their first year of college in relative privacy, not in front of 40 million people.
JoJo Siwa tried to pull a Miley Cyrus but she could have done that more gently by pulling the Big Sister card instead of being so extreme. She'd have kept her initial image but made it more mature without losing the authenticity that made her so famous in the first place. I honestly thought she'd go for that with her coming out (which was a really cool move).
I know I'm late, but Jojo literally was my whole. entire. childhood. I almost cried in this video, I'm 13 now, and I don't know if I'll ever see her as the same again.
Jojo acts like what she thinks a “bad girl” should act like. It does not come across as authentic, but more like a girl who copies the behavior of the popular girls hoping they will accept her.
I went to a HS show a couple of yrs ago and there was this girl there who would not stop talking about how drunk she was. And that is exactly what jojo is like
This is the best video on such a topic i've ever seen! Its not just "Oh haha look there is a child celebrity doing something cringe lets take some of the atention for myself" but an actually analysing and helpful video. Its good to see that theres still people like u❤
I’m so sure she has never talk to someone her age (I’m her age), she’s been so shelter from everything that she doesn’t even understand that her haters is our own generation. She even acuse millennials that they are the only ones who criticize her. Also, why you want to be remembered as the cringiest person of the decade? It’s like she lives in a parallel universe were she doesn’t look pathetic and weird in the most uncharacteristic way possible.
I don’t think she even wants to rebrand herself she’s following advice of others as usual. Obviously still loves glitter and is still childlike. She should own it and live in that.
I honestly feel like JoJo could have moved from a girly glittery child....to a girly adult (nothing wrong with masc women tho) But she always looked so beautiful whenever she dressed up Also..."adult" artist doesn't mean, edgy drunk mess, there are many adult musicians that aren't "edgy" but are still adults 😂
I love how you spoke about maturity because she needs to take accountability for how she has mistreated her girl group XOMGPOP. She and her mum have exploited those girls and all JoJo is doing at the moment is running and denying all of it.
Zoe I literally just logged into my account to watch this video, I been watching videos about Jojo all day but when I saw that you made one I knew I had to see it .
The reality is JoJo doesn't know how to be an adult, bc she has been a child all trough out her teenage years, and you can't just skip being a teen and go straight to being an adult
I think she’s just basically in her teenage phase, she never got to be a teen so now she’s doing that- but since she’s actually just an adult she’s able to do more things- she’s like a 16 year old though 😅
something in me tells me JoJo is honestly a really sweet and genuine person being pushed by other people to do things she doesn't want to really do... i'm probably very very wrong but hear me out. When she did her original "rebrand" where she cut her hair she genuinely felt older and more mature, like she finally figured out who she was and was slowly discovering herself but then she wasn't making enough money, and then the scandal with her own reality show came out and to cover for all of that her and her marketing team decided bad publicity was still publicity and we might as well do the same brand just a different color. that's what it feels like to me. i would love to see JoJo just be herself instead of who everyone around her and maybe she even feels like she has to be. maybe she could benefit from it. she also needs to cut off the problematic youtubers she hangs out with but besides that... (i know there are other things she's done of her own accord and everything but i hope what i said makes sense)
U forgot that half of this is ment to cover up that she made an a child girl group and was abusive to them. So this stunt worked perfectly no one is talking about pop omg.
People really missed out on Jojo going on Special Forces tv show, doing great till one of last episodes and deciding to go home to be with her mum? Such an arc.
I remember asking my mother for a Jojo bow at like age 6- she wouldn’t get me one because they were so expensive :’) now, I’m very glad she didn’t get me one 😭
I love how you didn't humiliate her but spoke facts about the whole situation and gave some reasons and advice why it didn't work out. Bc I feel sorry for Jojo, her whole life has been public, she didn't have a childhood experience, she was always forced to do smth. I hope she'll find her true self
Honestly I do think dance moms is a big reason she is like this. I actually lived down the road from the studio growing up and according to my mum they were filming in a PUBLIC restaurant and were very rude to my mum telling her to leave because I (I was toddler at the time ) was laughing too loud. So I feel like constantly being around toxic people like would most likely mess you up in the long run
I have a younger sister and i can say, all those little girls that looked up to jojo and collected her bows and clothes and stuff are also now making fun of her
The issue is she's growing up.Even her fans are growing up.She can't stay twelve forever. She is going to mature and branch out.Yes she took the wrong route

Don't you loveeeee exploiting children 😊😊😊
Woah
thnx....MOST VALUABLE COMMENT ON THIS SHITTY,SELF RIGHTEOUS THREAD >>MAGNIFIYING PRETTY OVER SMART OR REASONABLE..mOM IS AN npd MONSTER,,,,SHE (JO-YO) WILL GET THERE HERSELF,,,VERY VERY FAST...
I think her mom played a major part in Jojo’s behavior. Even if Jojo looked happy and bubbly on camera, we don’t know the full story and how she was treated by her mom.
0:13 Someone on the edge of insanity:
She just whas like emrmerdgbbbdhdhshgehjsjwjjroamgrjskdvislwndnwb
"thats not karma thats trauma" HELP 😭😭
Yep!😭
I agree, but Gaga's weirdness is way more sophisticated than this 😅
@@semnome9536 agreed she was just a quick example that I thought of.
Gurly thought she came back like a boomerang 💀💀💀
Instead, she got hit in the head by her boomerang
She got akumatized and ladybug ran away 💀💀
0:05 GURLIE EVEN GRANDMA SLAY IS CONFUSED
IVE BEEN BING WATCHING YOU AND YOU POST A NEW ONE
sameeeee
i really liked this type of video, you analyzing pop culture with your degree in marketing was very interesting to watch
love your content btw
This was actually just more marketing for JoJo Siwa
Imagen flopping so hard you revive someone else’s career (Brit smith)
7:35 Look out! Moto Moto likes you….
Her hair came back like a boomerang instead of her lmao
“Well from 2011-2023 I was 8,” took me all the way out😂😂😂
JoJo Siwa has a middle schooler's understanding of maturity.
2:04 what about melanie martinez? she turned into a nymph 😭 ❤❤ i love mel so much 😭
That didn’t age well 😭
Yas 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
@@Melanies_strawberry love the pfp btw
There are 3 parts to Jojo.
Side 1: annoying as fuck
Side 2: an actual shitty person who had done bad things
Side 3: a traumatized child
girl i never saw you around but you're literally so entertaining i alr love you
jojo doesn't take herself seriously. thats the issue.
I honestly feel like JoJo could have moved from a girly glittery child....to a girly adult (nothing wrong with masc women tho)
But she always looked so beautiful whenever she dressed up
Also..."adult" artist doesn't mean, edgy drunk mess, there are many adult musicians that aren't "edgy" but are still adults 😂
I love how you explained this. Especially when you talked about maturing and doing more collabs with artists she looks up to or wants to be more like.
Love ya zoe
The reality is JoJo doesn't know how to be an adult, bc she has been a child all trough out her teenage years, and you can't just skip being a teen and go straight to being an adult
random, but i’m sorry, no 12 year old is still listening to jojo 💀💀
I think she’s just basically in her teenage phase, she never got to be a teen so now she’s doing that- but since she’s actually just an adult she’s able to do more things- she’s like a 16 year old though 😅
Y’all don’t understand. She did that because in her mind of 8yr old, it makes her a little more adult, because her body is 6.
Not even 12, my 12 year old would die before having anything to do with Jojo. Her fans are like 6. It’s really creepy what she’s doing.
LOVE UR BOW ITS BETTER THAN ANY OF JOJO’S FR 🔥🔥🔥
Trying to live up to the icon🎀
@zoeunlimited 😂😂😂😂😂
i love how you were so polite about everything 😂
The bootleg black swan outfit is hilarious. So edgy.
I saw an 8 year old singing karma and started dying laughing. She thinks she has gen z in her pocket but every 6-9 year old is loving her.
As a 12 year old used-to-be fan of JoJo who ignored the warning at the beginning, I still listen to High Top Shoes and Boomarang 🤣
at this point, im waiting for Jojo to do a cover of Chilling Like a Villain from descendants.
😭
No. People hated Miley's rebrand too at first.
I still remember that at the time of her rebrand, my parents forbade me to listen to her songs like Wrecking Ball.
there's no posibility that her fans are 12. People at that age are more mature. I guess her fans are 7-10 yo.
something in me tells me JoJo is honestly a really sweet and genuine person being pushed by other people to do things she doesn't want to really do... i'm probably very very wrong but hear me out.
I agree fully!!
U forgot that half of this is ment to cover up that she made an a child girl group and was abusive to them. So this stunt worked perfectly no one is talking about pop omg.
I’ve honestly never been so scared in my whole life like what was that music video.😭😭😭
People really missed out on Jojo going on Special Forces tv show, doing great till one of last episodes and deciding to go home to be with her mum? Such an arc.
can we take a moment to just look at her outfit though.
its chef's kiss👌👌
unrelated but your bow really compliments your hair, it's so cute
I find it ironic that we are tasked with complimenting your bows in the episode about JoJo with a bow bow 😂
JoJo is a perfect example of someone that cares about the perks more than the actual art of music.
This feels like a 13 year old thinking their an adult cause they watch family guy.
Except it’s actually an adult
The only genuine rebranding, if she wanted to look like an adult, would be MOVING AWAY FROM HER CONTROLLING MOM, omg
5:00 lol the alarm
I have a younger sister and i can say, all those little girls that looked up to jojo and collected her bows and clothes and stuff are also now making fun of her
her problem is she isn't a singer or a dancer.
I love how posh and proffesional you are!
Jojo didn't "steal" or "copy" Karma, she bought it 🤦♀
The issue is she's growing up.Even her fans are growing up.She can't stay twelve forever. She is going to mature and branch out.Yes she took the wrong route
It's clear that jojo graduated from hot topic.
Can I just say ur JoJo siwa inspired dress is DROP DEAD GORGEOUS OMG 😍 HOW IS NO ONE TALKING ABOUT IT
Girl should of just let her hair go natural and stop wearing sparkles and this would have gone better
Super little JoJo was so innocent and sweet 😢
Literally obsessed with your look an outfit its amazing
you could say that jojo had a bizare adventure
I'm really liking these videos lately about artist rebrands, THANK YOU
The fact that her music and videos are getting more views and likes than kenzie is wild. Her music is like 10x better than jojos ever will be.
