Hi Matthew. For very light work, I use this: www.travers.com/product//ags-ta-2-metal-cutting-lubricant-81-002-025, because it doesn't make a mess. For everything else, I use this: www.travers.com/product/tap-magic-70016t-unsoluble-cutting-fluid-96-002-843
And yet at the end the nut went right on smoothly as God intended thereby making whatever you just said over a year ago 100% null and void. But by all means master clifffffffffffffffffff7630, just like bobp6742 you too have nothing stopping you from gracing us with a video on how it's REALLY done. Even 100 yr old grandmas can figure out how to use their smartphone cameras to record a video and upload it to YT so you have no excuses. Go ahead. We're waiting.
question pls internet people i have a rod that is 7mm and a die that is 6mm - will i be able to cut 6mm treads in it or does the rod have to be 6mm to start with?
Jesus, he's a convincing that he knows what he's doing as his wig. Die not mounted properly and loose, die holder upside down, work piece mounted in the vice incorrectly.

Thanks. That was a nice little demo before I start my project.
Thanks, Thomas.
Exalent took the confusion away how to thred a rod
I'm glad you found it helpful, Amanda. Thank you for the encouragement. (Kurt)
super helpful - really enjoy ALL your videos - much appreciated.
Thank you for the encouragement, Chad.
I never knew you could thread a rod with simple hand tools
What cutting fluid did you use?
I like Trefolex hd, mostly because of the slogan. "The thick fluid sticks to the tool".

Great illustration of things not to do.
I apologize that it doesn't meet your approval, Cliff. I try to keep them as basic as possible.

Hi Mohsin. The rod will need to be turned down to 6mm before threading it with a die.
@@wonbythe1 thanks for the information Kurt. That really helps. Cheers
I would use much, much more threading fluid than he uses!
