    Very very very well said talk, even on discernment as a whole.
    Paraphrased :
    “Put off the old wine now so that the new wine may be filled in the future”

    I would have found it painful enough had I been waiting for Erin May,when I was 47,never mind what I’m now,(in September),57. It’s a very heavy Cross not being with Erin May. Please remember Erin May,in your prayer’s. Thank you. God bless. Praise Jesus and Mary always!!! Ps as we know Jesus answers us three ways YES NO and WAIT. The difficult ONE is between NO and WAIT!

    A consecrated friend insists his way is the shorter way to heaven yet marriage is often referred to as the ordinary vocation for the faithful. Maybe so assuming a proper preparation is done and sufficient care is taken to determine if a potential spouse has enough virtue to take up this sweet cross. Since this is often not the case Father has a point.

      The Council of Trent affirms, under an anathema, that virginity and celibacy are better and more blessed than marriage so your consecrated friend is right. The Fathers of the Church all held this position.

    But how can you miss your vocation if your heart longs to fulfill Our Lord's will but is blinded to it?

    I would have much rather have seen the person speaking then the pictures; made it harder to watch.

      Try listening with eyes closed. It may work for you. I appreciate the relevant photos but double tap back when distracted.

      I actually prefer it like this. Focus on the message you don’t need to look at the images, though it’s good as it goes with the teaching and dress you to understand things

      I prefer pictures over a blank screen or slide show of randomized pictures. These pictures are sometimes placed in the correct time and correct topic.... but I understand, I too like seeing a person talk.

    Horrible in my opinion. Why? He only stated the role of the Man, and he actually included the woman in that role. He failed to complete the rest of the scripture passage and that's for a woman to submit to her husband. Convienient? Pretty sad for a Sensus Fedelium post and I love your posts.

      Did you ever consider that he was speaking to the role of men specifically? A priest cannot speak on every point of the faith during a 15 minute homily. He speaks on specific topics. Maybe Father talked about the role of a wife in his next homily. Your comment is uncharitable

      It's just about the vocation not the role of a woman in her marriage. That would be a whole other post video

      The Bible says “be subject” not “submit”.

      Men in the family are the FIRST target of the devil to destroy the church through marriage. I believe that the priest prioritizes about men because we live in a fatherless nation (spiritually), many men do not have the right men to guide them on Catholic masculinity.

    No.... Do you understand you come to Holy Communion in sin to receive the forgiveness. You can come as you are...if dirty inside to receive the wine of forgiveness

    • @ndirish4569
      @ndirish4569 Год назад +10

      Forgiveness of venial sins only. You may not receive Holy Communion if you are conscious of mortal sin on your soul. 1 Cor. 11:27-30.

      @J93392 Год назад +7

      No. Scripture explicitly condemns this. Take Judas for example when the devil entered him after he ate of the morsel because he was in a state of mortal sin- plus 1 Corinthians 11

    Wow, what a rambling, repetitive, empty talk. Just because a homily is traditional doesn't make it good. 🙄🙄🙄

    • @catholicfemininity2126
      @catholicfemininity2126 3 года назад

      I'm not sure if this was a mass homily or if he was doing a talk to a group of men/priests etc.. I know talks are done to nuns.... I understand that he didn't go into much detail, I figure finding a good spiritual director will help you discern your vocation. Btw how do you think this talk could've been done better?

      Let's be more gentle you know what I mean? It's tough to give talks like this
