They should BE introduced this way. This is the UTMOST form they can represent their country. Traditions and culture being carried by ALL OF THEIR BEING. And the costumes being THEIR IDEA.
This is literally the way they thought of showcasing their nation to the whole entire universe. So why not utilize it in introduction?
And they SPENT money + effort creating them, and then it isn’t even showcased on tv. How FUCKED is that?
I get that some countries aren’t pageant crazy and they don’t invest as much on the costume of the girls.
BUT you can simply put on the protocol
* pls don’t just use a dress with some minimal accessories for National Costume. BE PROUD OF YOUR COUNTRY. BE BIG. BE BOLD. BE CREATIVE.
and creativity doesn’t really cost that much money either!
This is like the one aspect where the girls can literally have the most fun dressing up and it isn’t even given a chance to be showcased.
The boring intro videos of the girls walking in boring ordinary dresses, were again
BORING.
THIS IS MISS UNIVERSE. AND IT SHOULD BE FESTIVE.

Unfortunately, MUO discontinued this due to time constraints on coronation night in MU 2016.
But thanks to RUclips, Miss Universe has a separate National Costume contest aired along with Prelims.

joesakic91 That’s not true. The girls aren’t even on stage yet. The costume competition was separate and was pre recorded to be shown on the big screen on the stage for coronation night. Even though it’s like that, that would have been much better than just them walking

Anyways, I also like the national costume portion separated.
