You should get a UCE Carburetor, works unimaginably well with my 2002 model AVL engine. Takes only a couple of kicks to start even after a week of no action.
1. You need give two kicks with clutch to lubrication of clutch assembly 2. Give some kicks to reduce the compression without turning on the ignition switch 3. Turn on the choke and ignition give a full kick it will start.
Hello Thank you for your this video, I have also the same model 2005, I have big problems on kick start , it’s take long time to start.and make me tired, And also it’s very hard to kick , Could you please suggest what to do. It’s difficult to get technical support, as RE service , this model is outdated. Please advice
Thank you for liking the video, the only way to make the kick a bit light is to use the decompression knob, press it for lightly kick the motorcycle, after one or two kicks it will be a bit, then you can kick it
How is your experience about AVL engine What about AVL engine maintenance Is it very costly? I also have AVL engine but I don't know about the maintenance
All it needs is regular service, that's all, had it for 18 years, got the cylinder replaced 3 times, but due to my stupidity, she still rolls like a dream
If you have a strong leg guard then fit a powerful set of led lights ... remember to get the lights which has more "spread", not the focus ones.... And led is good as it won't drink on the battery.... use dry battery.... it's a bit expensive than the normal battery but it never runs dry if used properly.....
I have enquired a lot. But I cannot fine the exact wiring kit for my Thunderbird AVL. Details: Thunderbird AVL 2003, CDI without self start. Let me know if anyone know any details.
@@evilmonkeyden Yes thought so! Does this handlebar make you lean forward on the Thunderbird frame or is the sitting posture still upright like it is with the stock handlebar?
@@sabyasachichowdhury6778 The rd handlebars will make it a bit aggressive but you will be more in control of the bike and would be able to maneuver the bike more quickly, the lean depends on the rider height
@@evilmonkeyden Thanks a ton for the info! I am currently restoring a 2008 Thunderbird Twinspark which will mostly be used on narrow village brick roads so handling and maneuverity is quite important. Hence I wanted to change the stock handlebar to something a little wider. Will the RD 350 bar be a good choice, or should I try on something else, what do you think?
@@sabyasachichowdhury6778 If you are looking for comfort and maneuverability then Rd 350 is a good option for tbird, rest also depends on the style you are going for
Hey man, superb exhaust note! Did you change the carb? I own AVL Thunderbird TOO, I m in Pune...which place do you belong to? Would love to meet you someday! If possible please share your mechanic phone number! Cheers to Life!
Brother I too own a machismo 2007 but this model I own is imported and named as Concorde 500 got a bit more power than the machismo and drinks fuel too.. I too live in pune at nibm and would appreciate if we met.
I own a 2007 AVL Thunderbird. I've customized it to a Bobber with 4inches of extended swing arm

Wow old is gold 🔥
Yes , AVL Engines were the best , they have better Fuel efficiency about 35kmpl and really good thump compared to today's RE
45+
@@paragkamble8519 45+ tht would be if bike runs in 60-70 kmph , generally like acc to my riding style in city it will give 33- 35kmpl
50 kmpl....
My AVL gives 42+

Do you feel vibration in high speed like uce engine...or its same as ci engine optimization
The vibration is there for sure, like an cci engine, but you learn to live with it and some what miss it
How come 2003-4 models are allowed on Road ?
They are not, it's now parked in my house
