Granted Elvis Presley was astonishing, but to say that he affected people like no other entertainer is stretching thin. Perfect example, Michael Jackson could just stand in place for over 5 minutes before his performance started and the fans would be going insane
Elvis presence is unusually magnetizing and mesmerizing. He manages to convey that feeling through the screen and his presence on stage that was so captivating and mysterious at the same time. He really was extraordinarily charismatic.

I was rooting for Taron Egerton to get the Oscar for his role as Elton John but unfortunately he was up against Joaquin Phoenix as the Joker. I had never heard of Austin Butler before this movie but I was shocked at how much he captures Elvis instead of being a cheap inpersonator like you find in Vegas.
I didn’t see footage of it but I hope they include his famous Aloha From Hawaii concert watched by 1.5 Billion people across 3 continents, Oceana, Asia, and Europe it’s the single most watched performance by a solo entertainer

Why anyone would pass up the opportunity to see Elvis Presley perform live, I can't understand. But one tour guide did. I found this out during my last visit to Honolulu in 2011. After he said that, I thought: "Seriously? You went to Jimi Hendrix's concert but passed on the King of Rock and Roll?" Mind you, seeing Jimi Hendrix live would have been an experience. I heard he was a real wild man. Not seeing Elvis perform would have you kicking yourself, surely. He'd done a concert there in 1961 and the proceeds went towards the Memorial centre at Pearl Harbour. Elvis Presley was a very generous man.
It certainly looks like they have the right guy stepping into Elvis’ blue suede shoes. I love this director and it’s fitting for him to make this movie because he is also a showman like Elvis.

You can’t replicate the original in this car but he looks invested - what an honour to play such an icon and you can tell he k it’s he needs to do it justice and I reckon he’s fine just that. Elvis Presley is much maligned when he was just a decent genuine person who always remembered his roots, and I think this is going to come through. Great reaction again
Its one of the hardest roles to play. In 1979 Kurt Russell. Did a decent portrayal. But I think Austin Butler has nailed it even more. He has the voice and mannerisms very close. This could be a box office smash on the level of Bohemian Rhapsody. Really looking forward to this.
And yes btw the trailer is amazing!! Baz never disappoints. Gatsby. Moulin Rouge. Romeo & Juliet....all good favorites!! His cinematography, storytelling are top notch. And his connectedness to all things music is unmatched. So yeah, this Elvis movie, my hope is that it will solidify and expose new generations to a person who single handedly changed the trajectory of how we understand what music means and how it shifts and cultivates cultural connectedness. I was at the arena in Saginaw, Michigan where this version of Unchained Melody was recorded live. It wasn't a huge venue by most standards, but couldn't believe that they really promoted this song, even though it was live. Kinda cool, that I was there that evening. By the way, Tom Hanks plays Col. Tom Parker, Elvis'manager. It''s really cool when young ladies like you appreciate Elvis'' music. There will never EVER be anybody like him again.
I've never watched a trailer about any Elvis movie or documentary that hits the nail on the head! I don't know Baz Luhrmann, but wow, he is great at his craft! He must have researched Elivs or possible have been a fan for his entire life so far! I can't wait for the movie!
You can never truly replicate the greatest singer and looks of all time but I think they will do a descent job He does a little singing but they use the King voice in most
We followed Elvis for 5 years from 1972 to 1977. Been a fan since 1954, Austin Butler has Elvis mannerisms, heard they used Elvis's voice for the film. I'am one of millions of Elvis fans who followed him. Received two kisses, and three scarves. Elvis's breath was like a baby's breath, no odor. If you kiss a marshmeollow that is how Elvis kissed. Such soft lips. Elvis loved his fans. Tom Hanks does sound like Col. Parker. This film shows Elvis as a human being. The younger generation will get to know Elvis with this film.

The unchained melody parts was Elvis. Its on his very last album while he was alive. Its my favorite. This was a few months before he died and despite his bad health his voice was still amazingly strong.

I read that Butler sings earlier Elvis tunes in this film but later Elvis tunes where his voice is more mature and deeper is a mix of Butlers vocals and Elvis’s…something they do a lot in music bio movies.
The Unchained Melody they use is from Elvis' album Moody Blue. There's another version with video on youtube with Elvis at the piano that's not quite as good Imo, but still amazing.

Absolutely love Elvis Mikayla and I can tell you just about anything you want to know about him. LOL. I can't wait until this movie comes out. My fav Elvis song probably is American Trilogy and his version of My Way. Its really hard to just pick one Elvis song though because they all were so great.
My sister & I went to see it in June. Elvis was born in Tupelo, Mississippi & we were born & still reside in Mississippi. They still have his family home where he was born & an Elvis Museum in Tupelo. It brought back memories. He was special & will always be Mississippi’s first son. Best movie I have seen in years. We both left crying. Elvis was wrong. He is remembered & loved.😢😢😢
It seems this film will portray events in Elvis’ life and career for the first time on film. The early Elvis recordings are a blend of Elvis’ and Butler’s voice. The later recordings are all Elvis.

My dad loved the Righteous Brothers version of "Unchained Melody", which was played at his funeral. There were some Elvis songs played, including "If I Can Dream" (one of my favourite Elvis songs) and "My Way", which we decided to include, because my dad did live his life his way. "And now, the end is near/And so I face the final curtain." I hope that song's in the movie.
@@movieswithmikayla yes Austin had a year of vocal training for the 50s stuff but think from 68 onwards it's Elvis's voice. Considering Elvis never had vocal training it's pretty impressive. Elvis had such a chameleon voice that it'd be a massive ask to get one person to cover all of his eras over a short space of time. The soulful raspiness of 68 to the semi-operatic sounds of the 70s...just too difficult to mimic. I think Austin is going to do a great job at capturing Elvis's soul and depth. So many people saying he doesn't look like Elvis - rubbish. You don't need to look like a person to act the role. We don't want an Elvis impersonation. He may not look the same but he certainly has a similar androgynous look, with beautiful full lips. Ooh I may have a celebrity crush coming on x

Austin Butler said the younger years was his voice but he said as the movie goes on and the older he was they blended Elvis' real voice into the songs.
Elvis is the Greatest ever.. It would take the big bands sound of the 30's and 40's combined with Sinatra to equal 1 Elvis.. It would take Madonna, and Michael Jackson of the 80's combined to mean as much for pop culture as Elvis.. Elvis transcends it all, and that witll continue on and on after we are all gone..

Knowing Baz Luhrman's movies he will . Also it was rather historic so they probably include it in this movie.
My parents loved that concert when it first screened on TV. According to Mum, I loved it too. I would have only been a toddler at the time.

I'am one of millions of Elvis fans who followed him. Received two kisses, and three scarves. Elvis's breath was like a baby's breath, no odor. If you kiss a marshmeollow that is how Elvis kissed. Such soft lips. Elvis loved his fans. Tom Hanks does sound like Col. Parker. This film shows Elvis as a human being. The younger generation will get to know Elvis with this film.

The unchained melody parts was Elvis. Its on his very last album while he was alive. Its my favorite. This was a few months before he died and despite his bad health his voice was still amazingly strong.

I read that Butler sings earlier Elvis tunes in this film but later Elvis tunes where his voice is more mature and deeper is a mix of Butlers vocals and Elvis’s…something they do a lot in music bio movies.
The Unchained Melody they use is from Elvis' album Moody Blue. There's another version with video on youtube with Elvis at the piano that's not quite as good Imo, but still amazing.

My sister & I went to see it in June. Elvis was born in Tupelo, Mississippi & we were born & still reside in Mississippi. They still have his family home where he was born & an Elvis Museum in Tupelo. It brought back memories. He was special & will always be Mississippi’s first son. Best movie I have seen in years. We both left crying. Elvis was wrong. He is remembered & loved.😢😢😢

My dad loved the Righteous Brothers version of "Unchained Melody", which was played at his funeral. There were some Elvis songs played, including "If I Can Dream" (one of my favourite Elvis songs) and "My Way", which we decided to include, because my dad did live his life his way. "And now, the end is near/And so I face the final curtain." I hope that song's in the movie.

It's Austin for the 50s stuff, and a blend of Elvis and Austin later. Though I mostly heard only Elvis after 68.
@@movieswithmikayla yes Austin had a year of vocal training for the 50s stuff but think from 68 onwards it's Elvis's voice. Considering Elvis never had vocal training it's pretty impressive. Elvis had such a chameleon voice that it'd be a massive ask to get one person to cover all of his eras over a short space of time. The soulful raspiness of 68 to the semi-operatic sounds of the 70s...just too difficult to mimic. I think Austin is going to do a great job at capturing Elvis's soul and depth. So many people saying he doesn't look like Elvis - rubbish. You don't need to look like a person to act the role. We don't want an Elvis impersonation. He may not look the same but he certainly has a similar androgynous look, with beautiful full lips. Ooh I may have a celebrity crush coming on x

Beautiful reaction for the songs there is going to be Elvis singing .What is the point of the movie if they will put Elvis tribute singers like they did in the past.If they want to really continue Elvis legacy his voice should be heard As for the Elvis looks nobody could duplicate Elvis's looks.Butler comes ok close compared to all the rest of the movies of elvis were discusting.The only close was back in the day was kurt russell portraying Elvis in 78 a year later when he died.
Lets hope the true Elvis story will come out of this .The most humblest charasmatic human being on earth. The world loved him. As you can see people still talk about him till this day.
