I have the V1 and I love it! Pretty sure they are a vinyl cover and not leather. I have a bigger gap by the bulkhead than you guys. Took me about 30mins to fit by myself as the rails attach to the frame so you cannot go wrong with the placement of rails on the on the sides. 👍
I was thinking of getting a Caddy Cover but my tailgate can only lift off and not open normally as previous owner cut of the brackets and mounted a pronet and I have my homemade toolbox op front so i wouldn’t be able to open the box when the cover is rolled up 😅. Otherwise great video and awesome passion for the old mk1s 😃🇩🇰

Yes it does
Leather hides are only as big as the cow. And they aren't rectangle shaped. 😉

Yeah see that would be awesome if you could open it both ends
The v1 is poppered all the way round so that would be your solution. It's what I have and I love it.
