The whole concept of picking one future product and learning its quirks can't be overstated. Each of these different products really do have different quirks, moods, etc. -- and if you pick one and stick with it, you really do learn a lot about it and you become a better trader. The other big piece of advice I would share is that you really should have a "rule kit" that tells you when to get into a trade, how to navigate the trade and when to exit a trade. It is perfectly fine to get stopped out 10 times in a row when you eventually lock into that trade that just runs and runs. (Make sure you pick a broker that has great commissions -- or you will find your percentage take home smaller than you might like). Also, when trading futures, remember that you are in the market from which all other markets follow basically. If a news story hits the wire and you are unprepared, you can feel some serious pain (even with a stop loss order in place). If you're going to trade futures, I highly recommend not learning to trade at 9:30am at opening bell. :) Start off in the dead of night when things are very slow so that you can get a feel for the vehicle you are trading. Good luck! Price movements may appear random to the unaided eye but there is a lot of information contained in a graph so find rules that work for you and rules that turn a profit and have fun!
Do you still exclusively trade ES or MES? Also to your point, I've trading the ES/MES only and I've noticed that, for the most part, there's a lot of activity an hour before the 9:30 open. Are there any other quirks about the S&P 500 futures that I should be aware of?
I've done some studying Forex and actually made two trades for real but I would like to study other day trading possibilities so this video about the S&P e-mini is eye-opening
Hello Korbs. You know I am already an avid fan of you and your method. I've seen what you can do on the 38 day challenge. I have no doubts about you. You're the real deal! I've come across a lot of crooks who promise so much but don't deliver. I know you are different. This is my suggestion - how about offering someone like me a scholarship? You know I meet your requirements so let me have a scholarship to be taught your method and then you get paid down the line. Just hoping you will give that some thought.
Thanks so much Aaron. Really appreciate the sincerity and openness with which you share so much info. I'm a beginner trader in the ES, and I just totally love it too. As you say, it's just right :)
@@korbstrading Was just reflecting Aaron how scalable trading on ES is. From your experience, is it possible to take trades of 100, 200 or even 500 contracts where one would get filled & not get too much slippage on stops? I typically trade the Globex session after London wakes up (from 1am EST to 8am EST). Cheers

Hey Janina, Korbs uses AMP broker. Alternatively, can find good information in the CME Group website. You can also find more information about our programs by going to the links in the description box :-)
Hi Korbs, Do you have some video that shows how to put things together to start trading mico E-mini (MES), platforms indicators at a basic level that helps to get starts. Thanks !
Sir, when Intraday market starts to recover from fall which index recovers first--I would think NQ stabilizes first & emini500 is next to stabilize OR do you think it is Russell index which leads the recovery first and then eminisp500--we seek your wisdom?
Thanks for this great and informative video. I have never traded on Futures E Mini S&P. What is generally the margin required to trade this market on a intraday basis
Hey Maula, the margin requirements stupid low. You won’t want to trade the minimum requirements. $500 or less depending on the broker. And if you are trading the micro ES it’s usually $40
Not with Tradovate and Ninja Trader that are geared towards futures. Now if you're using a broker like ThinkOrSwim or Interactive Brokers or TradeStation then yes, margin requirements are significantly higher on those broker platforms.
Direct answer: minimum $600 for every contract you want to trade (my min recommendation) I should say, that funding a new account to try and trade 1 contract is not a good idea. I would not recommend that and 100% guarantee you will lose any money you start with.
@@korbstrading I have been reading options for a living for a few years now. Just never attempted futures. I was just looking to dip my toes in without risking my actually accounts I earn income on

The problem with trading the micro contract is the cost of the trade. With TD Ameritrade, it’s 2.50 each side, so $5 a contract. It doesn’t make a lot of sense to trade the mini (MES) if you are trying to make any profit.
Fees and commissions aren’t too high :) if fees and commissions are stopping you from being profitable there is something broken about your strategy 👍🏼👍🏼

I trade ES exclusively for all the reasons you laid out. If you are in tune with the ES on a daily basis you can make a living with it.

I only trade pullbacks starting out on the 60 minutes time frame .... it works for me :)
Love to hear it!! Happy trading 🍻🍻
It's just so smooth, consistent, and somewhat predictable. It respects TA, and I barely ever need to adjust my Moving Averages. Amen.
