Enjoying it. Live in Alabama now, but grew up in the Cape. Really enjoyed your video fishing for stripers on your first day out on the inlet during what looked like an incoming tide. I realize it may be outside your wheelhouse, but you should try flyfishing for stripers on the flats while you're up there too - Lots of awesome spots, especially out of Chatham.
I am from Louisiana but like to Fish different places too and catch different species. Love to catch Spanish and Mango's in Perdido Pass when I come to Bama Keep doing what you enjoy.
cape cod native here .. been fishing canal for 20+ years.. no snakes but you will see some minks aka ferrets. there friendly and amazing to watch theyll jump right in canal and snag mackeral . they were realeased there years to to help kill off the rat population and theyve done a great job ... sometimes see a random deer other than that sometime a few whales and east end tuna ...
Wow, I'm shocked that the locals gave you honest advice. Ha ha. The ten count has always been my method. I can tell by the first lure what bait shop you went to. The Savage eel is also a great canal lure and so is a Sebile magic swimmer in bone.I wish I could've met up with you while you're here. I love this series for obvious reasons and I feel bad for John because of his allergies. Awesome video series!
I grew up on the canal. Me and my high school buddies walked across the railroad bridge when it was down. Trains crossed 2 times a day, we knew when and walk/run across (totally illegal), got chased off a couple of times. Cape Code is awesome.
Fantastic video!! If The Bama Beach Bum puts his feet in the sand, soon he'll have fish in his hand...lots of fish 🐟. Stay bummy up there catching them drag pullers.
BBB just a quickie to the Ninja guys. I got a couple of your rods. A Bummy Stick and just got a 12' Dagger K Series. I just took it out for 1st time yesterday here in Tx and was very happy with it. Pulled out a 9' Hammerhead and couple of big Redfish and Big uglies. Ive used the Bummy Stick awhile so I guessed the Dagger would be the same quality. Just to say nice tackle guys.
Another cool video. Thanks man! What are you going to be able to cross off on your next Cape cod Day 4, or will we just have to wait and see? Anyway, thanks again and God bless!
Excellent video, there's nothing quite like fresh striper. I live in Orleans on Cape Cod for the past 13 years. I've been to the canal many many times. I'm glad you liked Cape Cod 👍☮️🇺🇲
Video just does not do these rocks justice. They were no joke! Day 3 = 3rd epic video to an awesome series. I cheese out so much watching these and re-living the moments.
But did you get any "CHOWDA" ??? LOL ... In the opening scene the color and clarity of the water was really something to see. So glad you and your friends and families were all able to make the trip. However, I will call into question the judgement of any man that would eat pizza over fresh fish. That just ain't right, lololol.
Stryper “Rock Fish” best prepared with salt, pepper and Old Bay and smothered in mayo. Wrap in tin foil and cook at 400 degrees for 45 minutes. Taste like blue crab if cooked correctly.
I love to catch and eat stripe.. my favorite way to cook stripe is in a smoker, or in the stove or in the fryer, or on the grill or in the etc..lol love the video brother
Congrats on your striper that was one really nice fish that's going to be a hard PB to break but I know you're going to try feel bad for John that he can try what he catches as much as I like fish and seafood that would kill me your trip to Cape Cod has been quite the adventure can't wait to see what you do next👍👍
Another great video Matt. Safe journey home. Oh you might want to give Brant a call he has taken up storm chasing down in Pensacola. Said something about you joining him to ride shotgun. Lol. Both of you guys do so much for your viewers and I for one really enjoy y'alls videos. Tight lines Bama.
I'm glad to see you catch a stud striper. Chasing stripers is a passion of mine too. I fish behind a giant hydro dam and the current is strong which makes the 22-27 inch stripers feel much bigger. The land locked fish I'm after average about 10-12 pounds but a 15-18 is a true trophy. I can't even imagine how hard that 38 in fish fought.
We were catching hammers (up to 46 pounds) on topwaters until the other day in NJ. A 25 pounder to a 40 pounder is a different fish. The canal is pretty cool, but try RI, Montauk and NJ. That canal doesn't start firing up for a bit
Much love God bless from Morganton NC!!! Check out my first and second video.. I noticed how much weight I've lost not eating so my kids can! God bless!
Outer Cape Cod here...its going off from the beach right now The canal is always a challenge-- takes some time Sending love from MA...come on back Hear that Oriole at the end of the vid...thats when you know they are back and biting...listen for.the Orioles
I started chasing stripers in the Canal in the mid-80s. My first catch was a couple of inches undersize, and I was heart-broken. While fishing with worms I also caught tautog - ugly fish, but nice eating! The 'best' lure - or place - is constantly changing, so it doesn't make much sense to chase advice. In the Canal, mostly something that sinks, with a little wiggle to it.
Born and bred in Ma. love that you came up to the cape and so much fun god bless you and yours. I love your videos, I also fish OBX pretty regularly. Thinking I may have to run down to the Bama coast to look you up and try my hand on your great beaches. All the Best
That was a hell of a fish though! Did you get out to Martha's Vineyard and/or Nantucket? I would have been out there re-enacting my favourite scenes from Jaws lol. Courtney needs her kahkis to open the kah in the yad!
Wish you could've fished the Santee in the 70's-80's before the state introduced white perch. We caught 40-50# fish daily. It was the last wild run in the south
Man Matt, what a beautiful fish! Congrats on the PB. Love to see all of you fishing different locations, and putting out great content! Poor John has a bad deal, I would just eat some benadryl like chicklets, and try some of that fish!
Striper ceviche is amazing literally look up a basic recipe and go for it. Limes lemons and cilantro. Good to go. Try it my friend. The fam will enjoy too.
Sorry you didn’t have seasoning for the cook. I have tried everything under the Sun and have settled on McCormick golden dip Fish fry. I use butter or olive oil. Both are great.
I have been told, if I showed up with my Rhode Island license plates the locals will bust my balls. I hear out of state fisherman are unwelcome. Can anyone give me advice on this. Thanks.
Nice fishing there in the canal. Stripers are my favorite fish to target usually i release most of them. Friends and family that i hooked up with fresh filets keep asking me for more. I'm sure you get this too lol. The biggest ones hit closer to shore at night some right at my feet on the rocks on the jetty. I'm from Md but love Indian River Inlet Delaware.
I’ve been watching channel but didn’t subscribe. But now, you earned it, fishing on my turf. If you ever come back here another time and want to get on a boat, I’ll take you out.
BAMA, Hello, I passed that SHIP CANAL years ago going to BASS RIVER ( FALMOUTH. ) for a wedding , a dear friends son had the wedding there, STRIPERS are really nice to eat, stay well be safe 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Caught my first ever striped bass in cape cod. This place is home even tho I live in maryland but I tried catching a striper for weeks and months here in MD and then i decided to take a drive 8 hours to the cape and caugjt my first one it's even on fishebrain (:
Congrats on your Cape Cod visit but may I suggest that you both invest in a pair of Korkers with spikes those rocks can be treacherous. Lemon pepper is great for striper enjoyed your video too
I have really enjoyed this series. Those were some awesome fish. I've never used a swim bait to catch Stripper. Grew up using Cotton Cordell Red Fin. And a Bucktail. Really enjoyed all the content.
Go to Scorton creek in sandwich during out going ride ur gonna wanna bring waiters but cast into the rips and hook up every cast I live here locally and know all the spots I hope I see you one day
Awesome striper. My PB is a 30” striper here in Texas at Lake Texoma. Enjoy your videos. What brand of fillet knife do you use cause I’m looking to purchase a good one.
People that eat fish that don't taste fishy makes as much sense as vegans that eats foods that tries to look like and taste like meat, or people that drink non-alcoholic beer.
Glad you only had salt pepper and butter . It is one of the finest fish in the ocean and is sold in very expensive chef driven restaurants up and down the east coast
it is very good baked shake them n corn meal garlic salt butter an put on a little Texas Pete bake until done it is great try it some time .them were some nice fish congrats
Such an awesome video as usual, but my #1 new favorite thing about your channel is that if you watch with subtitles, it almost always says "good morning beach bumps" in the intro. Absolutely slays me. 😂
Only thing about the canal those rocks you see go all the way across the bottom to the other side so you lose a lot of your tackle if it hits the bottom the weights get stuck in the rocks
How do you like the Cape Cod Series? Let me know your thoughts! 👇
Enjoying it. Live in Alabama now, but grew up in the Cape. Really enjoyed your video fishing for stripers on your first day out on the inlet during what looked like an incoming tide. I absolutely loved this series! Great content!
So happy for you to have enjoyed your visit to our home!
I am from Louisiana but like to Fish different places too and catch different species. Love to catch Spanish and Mango's in Perdido Pass when I come to Bama Keep doing what you enjoy.
I summer near the Chesapeake Bay have been catching stripers for many many years.
Perfect cooking! Add a splash of lemon! Dude! That's IT
The Cape cod series has been excellent. Love the content, keep up the great work. Really cool to see you fishing with Matt and John again.
cape cod native here .. been fishing canal for 20+ years.. no snakes but you will see some minks aka ferrets. there friendly and amazing to watch theyll jump right in canal and snag mackeral . they were realeased there years to to help kill off the rat population and theyve done a great job ... sometimes see a random deer other than that sometime a few whales and east end tuna ...

Use fresh cut mackerel
I grew up on the canal. Me and my high school buddies walked across the railroad bridge when it was down. Trains crossed 2 times a day, we knew when and walk/run across (totally illegal), got chased off a couple of times. Cape Code is awesome.
Fantastic video!! If The Bama Beach Bum puts his feet in the sand, soon he'll have fish in his hand...lots of fish 🐟. Stay bummy up there catching them drag pullers.
What is up .. I get notified a whole 24 hrs after you post your video.... dangits...

It’s truly a grand finale! It’s crazy.
YES!!!!!! After years of trying, I get a first click thumbs up!…. Oh yeah, sick video too 😂😂
Lol nice work
Stripers are definitely a very tasty fish. Love the fight out of them too. Glad you guys are doing well in Massachusetts. Tight lines dude!
Being it's all new to you guys I think the videos are special, I kind of wish I could have been there with you all.
Really was such an amazing trip! And still haven’t even posted the craziest video. Lol
Didn’t get any chowda! Lol and he’s allergic to fish.
What a fish Matt, awesome! I'm really struck by how beautiful the area is and how clean/clear the water is.
We absolutely loved it.
Stryper “Rock Fish” best prepared with salt, pepper and Old Bay and smothered in mayo. Wrap in tin foil and cook at 400 degrees for 45 minutes. Taste like blue crab if cooked correctly.
Ain't nothing wrong with calories in a can.

More like the storm was chasing Brant.....lol
This series is just phenomenal. Congrats on checking off so many boxes in a single trip, that's no easy task!
Great series of videos Bummy. Looking forward to seeing what the future holds for Bama Beach Bum
Yes!!! Victorious!!! Congrats dude!!! 😎👍
🤩🤩I definitely have to do a similar video in my channel with a saltwater fish in italy 🇮🇹
NOW YOU KNOW, the mystique,,,,,,it gets in ya,,,,,welcome!!😎
Bama Beach Bumb is taking over the north DID YOU SEE THE SIZE OF THAT BASS ???? HOLY FISH HUGE 🐟!!!!!!
Where I lived in eastern NC we called them " Rock ".....and made Rock stew from them. Watching you clean that I suddenly got homesick....lol
I'm glad to see you catch a stud striper. Chasing stripers is a passion of mine too. I fish behind a giant hydro dam and the current is strong which makes the 22-27 inch stripers feel much bigger. Sounds fisherman make regarding the size of their fish:
Golly! = Big fish
Oh My Gosh = Even bigger fish!
Goaaahhh = Gigantic fish!
We were catching hammers (up to 46 pounds) on topwaters until the other day in NJ. A 25 pounder to a 40 pounder is a different fish. The canal is pretty cool, but try RI, Montauk and NJ. That canal doesn't start firing up for a bit

Loving the Cape videos. 👍. Mark Wahlberg couldn’t have said Bawstin Haaba any betta 😉
Me: "Just butter with salt and pepper on your fish?"
Them: "Yeah, it's very spicy, almost to spicy."
That was a hell of a fish though!
Did you get out to Martha's Vineyard and/or Nantucket? I would have been out there re-enacting my favourite scenes from Jaws lol.
Courtney needs her kahkis to open the kah in the yad!
That rock weed is a real P.I.T.A. for walking but it is a key ingredient for a New England Clam Bake.
The first time i fished the canal i lost 60 lbs of lead head jigs. The canal has 100s of thousands pounds of lead on its evil rock strewn botton.
We lived in Mass when I was a little kid. There's a few pics around of my dad posing with massive stripers.
Striper ceviche is amazing literally look up a basic recipe and go for it. Limes lemons and cilantro. Good to go. Try it my friend. The fam will enjoy too.
Can you please tell what is exact net weigh of your custom ninja surf rod 10 feet long??? Bama Beach Bum - Bummy Stick
Were you staying on Ezekiel Pond? The Tougias VRBO?
Sorry you didn’t have seasoning for the cook. I have tried everything under the Sun and have settled on McCormick golden dip Fish fry. I use butter or olive oil. Both are great.

BAMA, Hello, I passed that SHIP CANAL years ago going to BASS RIVER ( FALMOUTH. ) for a wedding , a dear friends son had the wedding there, STRIPERS are really nice to eat, stay well
be safe 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Bro I think I’m gonna do a little get away with my wife go Boston just so I can fish Cape Cod. Im in Cali
Our Stripper run just ended here on the Chattanooga River in GA. I only caught schoolies this year.
Caught my first ever striped bass in cape cod. This place is home even tho I live in maryland but I tried catching a striper for weeks and months here in MD and then i decided to take a drive 8 hours to the cape and caugjt my first one it's even on fishebrain (:
I go there all the time also Ck out the Merrimack River inNE Massachusetts?😊😊
A big black Slug-Go is a good bet, too.
Maybe, in the future, when measuring the length of your catch, could you please tell us the weight, in POUNDS and OUNCES? 😁
one more thing; try bread stuffing a 6-10 pounder and baking. it will make your tongue beat the crap out of the roof of your mouth!
Maybe consider wearing knee pads on those rocks. Ouch! Great catches!!
Rule of thumb 38" nice fish 48" fish big fish anything over 50 is a cow
1 more month and we'll be back on them. Not really a fan of the canal, I think there's much better spots especially if you have a kayak.
Great video Bama! Was that 38 a PB? Striper is an awesome fish to eat. I just saw the end of video chat and congrats on your PB
Do you remember what time of year you was there. Me and a group of guys planning on making a trip but we are 14.5 hours away.
Awesome job!! Come back in September for a 60 pounder!!
Matt; your "Boston Habah" sounded like someone from Maine - so you were kinda close.
Congrats on your Cape Cod visit but may I suggest that you both invest in a pair of Korkers with spikes those rocks can be treacherous. Lemon pepper is great for striper enjoyed your video too
Don’t fillet it. Stuff it with some herbs in the belly, wrap it with aluminum and grill it.
A striper just a bit over a yard long, I am sure it is common somewhere but not anywhere I ever was. Congratulations.
I have really enjoyed this series. Those were some awesome fish. I've never used a swim bait to catch Stripper. Grew up using Cotton Cordell Red Fin. And a Bucktail. Really enjoyed all the content.
Thanks for watching!
You didn’t get your daughter’s comment on the fish. She is your best reviewer!
Another great striper trip Bama! You should be excited!
Next catch and cook stuff striper with crabmeat! ! Top notch meal there
Visit grumpys for breakfast while your on cape
Nice catch! You should try the Striper with your fish taco and homemade salsa recipe.
My mom cooks stripper with just mayo spread and lemon sliced on top best maybe some pepper salt if your feeling it real good stuff
What rods and reels you using?Should put it in description.
Come to Montauk..you and your family will enjoy it. God bless
You wont get that blood in the filet if you bleed the fish out after you measure it, nice catch guys, welcome to our beautiful Cape Cod Canal !
Go to Scorton creek in sandwich during out going ride ur gonna wanna bring waiters but cast into the rips and hook up every cast I live here locally and know all the spots I hope I see you one day
thank you for playing bye the rules ...too many people cheat and poach . and this makes me want to watch you page more
Great fishing - look at *logical life* day or night, anywhere any person any fitness level.
Wow, you earned that one😊
Great job in my backyard
No snakes but there’s minks in those rocks. You’ll see them come out and grab fish right out of the water.
Butter, salt and pepper is all you need. It is my favorite fish of all. I do the same but on the smoker.
Awesome striper. My PB is a 30” striper here in Texas at Lake Texoma. Enjoy your videos. What brand of fillet knife do you use cause I’m looking to purchase a good one.
I typically use a bubba blade. Not sure what we had in this vid.
Gorgeous fish!! Time to run down to NC for some big red drum?! Great video!
People that eat fish that don't taste fishy makes as much sense as vegans that eats foods that tries to look like and taste like meat, or people that drink non-alcoholic beer.

it is very good baked shake them n corn meal garlic salt butter an put on a little Texas Pete bake until done it is great try it some time .them were some nice fish congrats
i live near cape cod and the fishing is awsome! i can literly just walk outside and cast a lure!
I broke both my ankles watching this video.
Such an awesome video as usual, but my #1 new favorite thing about your channel is that if you watch with subtitles, it almost always says "good morning beach bumps" in the intro. Absolutely slays me. 😂
Subscribe for a while! Done. Great catches.
Ikejime whould prevent that blood
I got into a blitz up there last year after 5 days of nothing then we hit a bite of fish 40 pounds and up
Tuna fishing is huge on Cape as well. Probably was early in the season for that.
Only thing about the canal those rocks you see go all the way across the bottom to the other side so you lose a lot of your tackle if it hits the bottom the weights get stuck in the rocks
get some studs on them boots for handeling those rocks . ive seen many people get hurt down there
You should go to Montauk it’s even better than Cape Cod in the fall it’s nuts
Yes, I like a little fish with my butter 😂
Fish and butter go together like chipmunks and nuts.
Even better when cooked at a medium….. temp 😉
@@mattpoole1610 Yall are killing me 😂😂
Awesome action! What line were you using?
