Thanks for the wonderful music, you absolutely nailed that & made a freezing Wednesday morning feel warm, thanks again & have a wonderful day. PEACE AND LOVE TO EVERYONE ❤❤.
wow - i was listening to a Steely Dan song then this automatically came on in the background. I thought is was Steely Dan. Its Juli Finn! 😅😅✌✌Fabulous tone 🔥🔥
Could you show me? You're great, and you seem to be enjoying yourself so much. You're good at what you do! I couldn't hold back from expressing my appreciation for your artistry. I'm studying what attracted me to the guitar as an instrument. "beautiful."❤❤❤💯
Hey Juli I know this is 7 years ago but just saw it - amazing! You so nailed it. Its a hard solo and i'm going to do my best to learn it. I just learned Peg on paino - that wasn't particularly easy either. Love your Les Paul too. I have one just like it on its an Epiphone. Cant afford the Gibson! :( anyway thanks for posting. Also I read the comments criticizing not starting with pre-bends. So what? It sounds great . You play it any way you want!
In Jay Graydon's lesson for the solo he doesn't slide the first lick....He starts the solo with a double bend, which is really hard to do and have both notes in pitch. So I play it the way you do lol. It's just easier and still sounds good enough. Very nicely done
Excellent tone and feel! You would of made the cut live, I feel. You definitely could walk out on stage with the current SD and play this solo now I’m sure. On another note, what does everybody think of Keith Carlock on drums with steely Dan this tour?
It's a good thing that Fagan and Becker agonized their way to choosing Graydon's solo. Now we can all enjoy it. So satisfying and refreshing! Thanks for your post. You really have it down.
I think you are the only one that plays this solo just like the record. When Jay Graydon shows it, it's not the record. I honestly think his doesnt remember exactly. Especially the fast lick after the pull off walk up lick. You play as I hear it. TY!!
Great looking solo (nice guitar). Your tone is really nice. But, when Graydon plays this, doesn't he do stretches from the second position (vs slides)?
A hollow-body guitar with the right level of acoustic feedback (sub-screech) will add sustain...you don't need to pluck the strings, just keep fingers moving up and down frets.
I love this solo, as well. It's impressive how easy you make it look. You were right on the money. Great job.
She makes it look so easy. Well played. I also have a 1980 Les Paul "Artist" tobacco sunburst. Very nice!
The tone is what makes this so good . 👍
You pegged it!
🥰
Great cover!
Good grief, she does this with so much grit and heart. I'm so impressed, I've heard a lot of people cover this but Juli does it with mastery.
Nice! ASide from the lesson Jay gave, this is the best, very nicely done
Nailed it!! The way you ascend to the high bend sounds more accurate and is easier postion-wise than some I've seen. Thanks!
Beautiful !
Terrific & love your LP!🎸
Great job!
Thanks for the wonderful music, you absolutely nailed that & made a freezing Wednesday morning feel warm, thanks again & have a wonderful day. PEACE AND LOVE TO EVERYONE ❤❤.
Thank you so much for watching
I have always liked the PEG solo--good job.
beautiful effortless playing
One of my favorite songs and you nailed it spoton Juli. Good job.
Great tone! Nice!
WOW! Very nice, confident and flawless... Great job!
Great solo! BRAVA!!
Bravo!! Good Job on a great guitar solo 🙂
Beautiful…I am dropping my SACD of Aja on the player right now. Thanks
nice!! like your Les Paul too, been thinking about getting a LP custom the Fretless Wonder :-)))
Very nice cover of Jay Graydons' epic solo
Epic! Skunk also had 2-3 epic solos out of the many that he played for the Dan.
So smooth!
Good job!! 🎸
That was awesome ! I love that song, I love that guitar solo !!
That was great ! Thanks for the ride !!!
Perfect tone. You Pegged it!
WOW smooth!!!
Nice job. I was singing that song this morning.
Very tasteful and a nice (soulful) touch on that.
wow - i was listening to a Steely Dan song then this automatically came on in the background. I thought is was Steely Dan. Its Juli Finn! 😅😅✌✌Fabulous tone 🔥🔥
Great love it!!
WOW that was IMPRESSIVE!!! Not an easy thing to do either!!! Nicely done, I bow to you!
beautiful!!!
Your relaxed facial expression inspires me as well as your music
YEAH !! 😝... sounds perfect to me.. Awesome 😎👍
Great Job. Very nice.

Beautiful
Can't argue with that, excellent!
Juli, Some of those fingerings were awesome! Very nicely done!

Thanks for watching. It’s a fun one to play. I have learned the pre-bends because of the comments so it’s all good 😌
Flawless.
That’s awesome!!
Excellent!!
Very tasteful in every respect...makes guitar playing look easy, which it definitely isnt. Respect and envy of your skills
Juli, this is to die for...such an excellent performance! Thanks for sharing
+tps607 Thank you!
Well done!
It may not be how it is done but still sounds really nice. He actually doesn’t slide on the first part he bends
I heard the original studio recording was played on a strat and the deep two note bends in the 1st two bars were done with the tremelo bar.
Well you heard wrong. Jay himself said he used a 335 and shows the intro notes prebent then as he plays he brings the bend down.
@@justsomeguy1074Exactly right. Played on his 335 with the notes pre bent. RUclips videos with Jay showing exactly how he played it.
Crazy cool Juli!
NICE!!!!!

Spot on !
Great job
Very nice juli. Make it look very easy.
Thanks for watching!

I like your picture, Juli! Lol
Very nice solo too!
😂 and my name in lights above it? Thank you!
It's a good thing that Fagan and Becker agonized their way to choosing Graydon's solo. Now we can all enjoy it. So satisfying and refreshing! Thanks for your post. You really have it down.
It was so much fun to learn.
Very Nice!!
I like both versions, both Jay’s and yours. Very nice performance. Thank you
Tactful, Leslie. Well done.
ud toca muy bien !!! exelente ... saludos!!
Her set at the Holiday Inn on Thursday's during happy hour is good too. Plus shots are half price...
Bravissimo!!!
That was like a delicious bite of mint chocolate chip ice cream. Sweet and cool and never enough. Great tone...

beautiful
Beautuful!
Superb 🎉
Thank you! Cheers!
Just so good, you have such a relaxed tecnique and it's an absolute pleasure to watch, perfect job.
Yes mam!!!! EXCELLENT!!!
Gotta respect the effort of responding to all recent comments after 8 years. Nice playing too!
Not for you. LOL
Just as smooth and lovely as silk.Nailed the solo as well. What’s not to like?😂
She has the feel, not just the mechanics like so many on you tube.
very nice, nothing wrong with that!
good job!
Sounded great. I don't understand why nobody on YT takes the time to play the intro sequence correct, starting with the pre-bend.
Because nobody knew it was a pre bend before Jay himself revealed it yrs after Julia made this video . Nobody including me and you .
@@johnkk7863 you don't shit about what I knew and it's arrogant to assume you do. Go away, sport.
awesome...and i LOVE your red hair 😘
I love it 😀
Thanks!
One more thing, (AND YOU DID WONDERFULLY) the opening double stops aren't slid into, but actually bent up to pitch.
Hey, thanks for sharing! That does make sense. :)
Nice!!!
Yup! Well done and Steely Dan had many hot guitarists and no solo is easy to play !
Brava!!
Very nicely done! Only slightly different from Jay Gradon but you did the job! Very sweet guitar playing!
Thanks so much. ☺️
that was awesome!!! any chance you could do the solo from Rainbow in the dark by ronnie james dio? love how you nailed this one
nice!! well done!! did you do kid charlemagne solo as well?
Awesome
The whole idea of a Jimmy Page guitar lab sounds really appealing to me. I'd be all over that.
Smooth thanks 👍🇺🇸
Perfect. 🎶🎸🎶👏👏👏
Thank you ☺️
....A whole lot prettier, AND every bit the lead guitarist virtuoso!! A dangerous combination in deed.
Nice!
A bit different than Jay plays it - but what an incredible display of fluidity, tone and technique. Absolutely sweet!
I agree, Peter. It's real close, but lovely nonetheless.
Great looking solo (nice guitar). Your tone is really nice. But, when Graydon plays this, doesn't he do stretches from the second position (vs slides)?
You are right!
awesome
Thank you!
nice!
Yes.... what gives you the tone and sustain? Beautiful playing. You amaze me.
A hollow-body guitar with the right level of acoustic feedback (sub-screech) will add sustain...you don't need to pluck the strings, just keep fingers moving up and down frets.
Jay Graydon played the note bend coming in on the entrance, watch his video and you'll see how he does it,, that's pretty good though.
Very nice! I noticed that you don't like the easy ones, I like that in a person :-)
Sounds awesome, what kind of amp did you use?
Not your typical poseur.
Actual musician.
Well done.
Thank you very much ☺️
