Hi Ian. Have been watching ned for last couple of years and enjoying him. Hadn't discovered your channel til very recently. I'm not a trucker myself but hugely enjoy the content. I find it facinating. Thanks for your efforts.
Oh dear Starf**ks coffee ! had a laugh when you were walking round the truckstop trying to be as quiet as possible but were getting drowned out by the sound of the generators that keep the chillers going on the trailers !
The Jan De Rijk guys were always helpful to me when I used to do airfreight from London Heathrow to European airports. It's so much easier to drive over in Europe compared to the UK, most people are really helpful. Much better truck stops. Have a good one Ian.
Great video…started European work after 25 years of Uk work and really enjoying it…even getting a new Daf Xg soon…but stowaway’s on the truck is a big problem..
Let me get this straight..you have to be very quiet walking around the truck park..in case you wake somebody up..but yet there's about 50 thermo king fridges screaming full throttle..haha..
Ian, If you get bored enough, mail off a bunch of resumes to trucking companies down in Australia, they're always looking for experienced drivers. Down there they pull 3 - 5 or more trailers called ROADTRAINS across the outback. !
Truck stop 24 Bis ? Been having take out lunch there ( great sausage rolls and cobs) off and on for the past 6 weeks ! Didn’t realise it was ‘ famous’ ? Been doing a Cmm install at a company around the corner , stop in Hasselt. Great video mate , keep em coming .
Good video lad, fair play. If you come off at j 1a Veurne, after crossing into Belgium theres a PMO garage that takes almost every card you can tink of for fuel. As for the truckcstops Zolder 10 out a 10. Safe, bar, shower all you need. Meer or Joost both the same. "Fairly safe" shower, food and bar👍
hai ian iam very happy to see your videos. i love your videos i can't stop watching your videos when I was start watching. Because I am also one truck driver. i totally enjoy your videos of your driving and making. I'm so much interested to come to Ireland on truck driving basis. can you please assist me how to get truck driving jobs in Ireland
Hi Ian, non trucker here. I’ve got a question for you about truck chassis in Europe. I’ve noticed on my travels, in the UK/Ireland, 6x2 trucks are the most common whereas in continental Europe, it’s all 4x2s. I know the max weight in Europe is 40t but I don’t know how it works in the UK or Ireland.
6x2 in Ireland can gross 46Tomnes 6x2 in uk can gross 44Tonnes 4x2 European trucks can gross 40Tonnes , in Ireland majority of haulier don’t necessarily need 6x2 but it’s preferred and usually sells better on second hand market , also nice to know you can carry an extra 6 tonnes if needs be .
Can't wait to watch this! Just curious why you went to Dover and not Hull straight to Rotterdam? Haven't watched full video yet if you do explain why sorry
Most people in Europe speak a good level of English but not all , they like to see you make an effort in their language , usually if your nice and polite people are quick to help.
Firstly! As an Irish person I want to say that most of us know that Holland is only 2 provinces of The Netherlands, Noord-Holland and Zuid-Holland. We don't all can the Netherlands Holland. Also Ian, you do realise that Ireland and the UK are in Europe too, it doesn't just begin on the Continent. European work includes doing the likes of Dublin to Cork etc.
@@davidhayes2567 but it's not accurate! European mainland work would be classed as Continental work even though Ireland and Britain are on the same continental shelf as the mainland. Either way, you can't go to somewhere when you're already there.
Ended up on the port of Rotterdam , by the time I got parked was too tired to go exploring so found a little bar in the port and had a few beers with some local guys and one chap from Norway. But I forgot to film that too
@@g-sailing4427 as I said , as a trade you have to do 4 years of earning next to nothing and pass exams , if you get your artic licence you can make that nearly straight away

Can I ask why your cab doesn't have a second bunk

Because the ferries are so much more expensive
@@christopherhand1092 How much more expensive than Dover-Calais ferry? Because the fuel isn't free to drive up to Rotterdam
hello Ian, do you have a steerable axle?

Merry Christmas to you & yours Ian 🎄🎅☃️❄️

Happy Christmas Eve and a happy New year to your family when are you making trucking in Ireland how is daisy😊
Do you see many event transport convoys parked up in truck stops on your travels around europe ?
How do you get on with speaking all the different languages in Europe
Most people in Europe speak a good level of English but not all , they like to see you make an effort in their language , usually if your nice and polite people are quick to help.

Great video but I would be seriously worried about my health if I was doing that gig full time. The food looked like shit, I couldn't eat it.

Hi mate do you work for an agency or a haulage company?
It's the family buisness
Do you speak in Portuguese?
👍
The money for European work doesn't sound great for being away
It’s not ideal that’s for sure , but there isn’t many jobs out there that you can take home €1000+ per week that you don’t have to go to college for .
@@drivewithig nearly all construction trades and machine driving jobs take home €1000 a week in Dublin at the moment!

Holland is just fine , the rest is of no importance !!
Your not much of a trucker.. if you don't have a piss bottle..😅
