Episode 2: Kamala is now 4 months and today she visits a busy town for the first time as she is socialised in the world of busy humans. Life Of Wolfdog follows Kamala from baby puppy right up to a huge adult black phase wolfdog.

Ryuk is a gem for Chadde.
I generally am not in favor of Wolfdog's, not because of the animal but because of how many end up neglected, in shelters or in very bad conditions. Seeing yourself, Jessica and Chad give such great care and patience while working with these animals is a pleasure. I hope less people would breed wolf dog's, especially high content wolf dog's but seeing you folks make their lives wonderful is a great relief. Congratulations and thank you to all three of you. Thankyou, the idea is some good wholesome guidance as people will still get wolfdogs so we hope to try and inspire the correct upbringing

better people, and dedicated animal 'trainers' to their pack.
When I was doing a similar thing with my wolfdog pup I found it beneficial to go to a busy town (Brighton) before everything opened on a Sunday morning find a spot that we could sit outside a cafe then let everything build up around us it definitely helped him x

It’s so sad that these gorgeous, intelligent animals end up with people who haven’t done the proper research or people buy or adopt them because they’re “cool”, another object to show off to their friends. They don’t want to invest the time or energy to earn their trust and create a loving, secure atmosphere for them to thrive in- or to become their pack. It’s not fair to these beauties! Maybe the people should be certified by taking classes and hands on training before they can take one home with them!

As cool as they are I would never get a wolfdog. Wouldn't be able to meet the needs of the animal and that's unfair for both of us

Have you done an episode on Patterdale terriers? I can't find it. I have had many dogs in my life and recently I adopted one from a rescue. Omg, he's something... The most hyper dog I have ever met. It's not surprising so many end up in rescues. They might be small but they don't think they are and I'm afraid most people don't realise what they are getting into when they get one. I have had collies that needed half the exercise and stimulation my patterdale needs to be calm, sociable and well behaved.It's unbelievable how can such a small dog need soo much. Some people use this breed to hunt boars! If you have already covered this breed, can you point me to the episode? and if not, would you consider doing one and maybe educate people about them? They are wonderful dogs but definitely not for the average household. And thank you for the great videos.

Very interesting, I understand the lessons you are trying to educate people who may have or desire these dogs. They are beautiful and primeval, you can't help being in awe of them and being in their company is special indeed. But can't help thinking that people should not be breeding them. An enjoyable watch 👍

I would absolutely love to adopt a wolfdog but I live in Austin, TX and I'd feel it a crime to have an animal native to cold environments in such a hell hole... I'm torn 😞
Just buy a large kiddy pool and change the water, they will love it. As long as
you excercise the dog daily, then hose him off, you should be fine. I've had GSD's
for 40 plus years in N. Cal, when it gets over 100' plus for days. Just keep them cool.

Love it, but I cant get over why everyone uses collars and leads. I always use a harness with a 30cm high strength bungee with a lead or rope, so much more controllable :)

I was very sceptical about Jessica, but after watching your videos and hearing Jessica explain herself, I can't fault her logic, it flies in the face of normal dog training because wolves aren't dogs!

These kinda dogs are never able to walk in crowdy city streets with loud noises like busses, trains and cars and so on

Yes but both the modern day grey wolf ‘and’ the dog both evolved from a now extinct common ancestor which was different to our wolves today, so yes all dogs are theoretically wolfdogs, but not a modern wolf cross unless crosses with the modern grey wolf. (There’s an episode I made about this)
That first pup not seem like a stable pet at all, not a good idea imo it has wild blood in her taking her to an annoying city.

@2:57 how can you be so irresponsible. how can you get such an animal if you don't know the simplest 1x1 of dog handling? how can you allow your leash and the leash of the other dog to overlap and twist into each other? if the other dog didn't like it and went on the defense and showed your dog that he didn't like it, what would you have done? you couldn't have intervened, you couldn't even have pulled your dog back because your leash was twisted with the other leash. most important rule: never allow your leash to cross or twist with another dog leash !!!
