I think if you are trying to go triple recessive on a budget you should look into allelics and supers as your third recessive or in combination looking at incomplete dominant as a het. The odds are just as difficult but may fit your budget by getting something like a gravel clown het ultramel and pair to a YB het Criptic het ultramel. and work towards ultramel freeway cryptons. Looking outside the box will pave the way when limited on funds. Just know that hets will take longer and the distinction of your allelic hets need’s research to tell them apart or you will need testing to help. There are plenty of allelics out there that have been left behind in favor of recessives when they should be merging together.

As for that, Im always finding your videos refreshing because ypu choose to present industry based content and not specifically Leviathan based content. I wonder how much longer this will be sustainable. I was considering breeding balls after getting mine, and playing with the genetics sounds like a lot of fun. But at the end of the day, I only like the thought of breeding ball pythons for making gene combos. Not because ball pythons are exciting to keep. Other species seem more exciting and that makes me want to keep them and maybe breed those instead. Is the goal to have fun breeding and let it trickle down so pet keepers can eventually get the pretty ones? Because we’re already there and there are so many balls being rehomed. No hate, just voicing my thoughts. I love watching your business perspective and strategies on projects. It’s been very helpful and insightful.
We have done a couple! We only do them with someone we already know and really trust but generally we try to make it as 50/50 as possible and it also needs to be mutually beneficial to both breeders. We usually write up the agreement on how the clutch will be split before we ever exchange animals. Generally the person with the more valuable animal gets first pick and then it alternates. One collab we did, the other breeder had first pick of the females and then we had first pick of the males.
Great video! I have to respectfully disagree to your point that the Sunset/DG/Clown will have more market velocity (ie. more potential deep-pocket buyers) than Sunset/Hypo/Clown. Both groups had deep enough pockets to invest in Sunset to begin with, and both Clown and DG were individually less costly than sunset, and about on-par with each other. I don't think DG has the predictive power in this case because Sunset is involved, and Hypo Sunsets are further ahead in the number of combos/examples that have been produced, so has established more market confidence than DG Sunset. I also think the Hypo Sunset looks objectively better than the DG Sunset due to the color variace retained by the SS Hypo. Also, Hypo itself is having a renaissance because of how well it plays with Puzzle, another rising star project. I think the market velocity of both SS/DG/Clown and SS/Hypo/Clown will be even until the first examples are produced, and then one will pull ahead. The pony I'm betting on is on SS/Hypo/Clown.

I might not have explained it well in the video, but in this example the feeder projects wouldn’t be the people who are already in the Dg Sunset Clown project or the people already in the Hypo Sunset Clown but rather the people who only have DG Clowns or only have Hypo Clowns and are interested in potentially picking up a Sunset DH DG Clown or a Sunset DH Hypo Clown to get into the sunset project. My opinion is that the people who are currently invested in DG Clowns are more likely to spend big money to buy into new projects faster than the people who have currently only invested in Hypo Clowns as the Hypo Clown market has shown they are more willing to wait for the price to fall into their price range. Both projects are awesome and both will do incredible but there is a difference in purchasing behavior between the people who spent $10k on a DG Clown vs the people who spent $1k on a Hypo Clown
