I went to school in Tuscaloosa. I worked for Wrangler in Hackleburg. That was wiped out the same day it hit Tuscaloosa.

Nevermind that last post, should have watched the video first. Thought it was a recent tornado.

The lake you drove by in your video is Forest Lake. If any of your subscribers want to watch, there is a set of videos here of a guy walking around the neighborhood with a camera. It makes me sad seeing it because I used to live on the back side of the lake.

Alabama! Home of funky music AND funky trees. Alabama is a heavily forested state and on that terrible day in 2011, 12 MILLON TONS of trees were knocked down in Alabama alone! Of course Hurricane Ivan destroyed over SIX HUNDRED MILION DOLLARS worth of timber in Alabama but that was over an extended period of time. This was over in a few hours! When the massive tornadoes plow through, if the trees aren't snapped a couple of feet above ground or blown over, the trees are twisted in to all kinds of weird shapes. I've seen some that looked like guitars, and different kinds of prehistoric animals, etc. They remain that way for the duration.

This Tornado missed my house by a half mile at most. Winds were still so strong the tops of trees and bushes were bent almost parallel to the ground. I could hear the tornado growling. It sounded pure evil literally. I’ve lived in Tuscaloosa all my life 50 years and it was a devastating day.

Sickening. I remember going on a mission to new Orleans after hurricane Katrina and visiting the lower 9th ward. Just absolutely surreal to see the damage and devastation done to that city and those people. Sorry for the typo and premature comment. Stupid iPad. Have a good move John

I know this comes a long time after the tragedy Tuskaloosa endured. I remember while at a Dr app. seeing the copy of Sports Illustrated and I read and was allowed to take it with me home. I still have it.
I remember reading about Tinker Carson and his experience, sadly losing his girlfriend and their pets. At that time the only thing I could tell anyone if asked about Alabama football I knew Couch Bear Bryant was known and obviously well remembered and respected. What does this has to do with tornado and aftermath of it? I often thought about Tinker and how he was along with all those there and the players that helped heal Tuskaloosa. I just happened the next fall to be looking for something on tv when I saw a game and it was the Tide playing Georgia Bulldogs in the SEC championship I believe. Please don't hold against me if I am wrong on my memory but I wanted to see Alabama play and hopefully to see Tinker , the SI said he was the long snapper. I was pleased to.see him but he was place kick.holder that night. I enjoyed that game so much and this N . C. life resident now is hooked on Crimson Tide football. That's all I watch now. I was a Panther fan till I saw that game. I wish now that Tinker could see and know.how sorry I felt for him and losing Ashley, I believe her name was. Again if I'm wrong I apologize. I ve always been a amatuer weather follower . We have to deal with hurricanes thankfully that we have plenty time to.prepare as well as possible. I ve learned so much.about the great state of Alabama but had no clue y'all get the number of tornados and they seem to always be those EF 4 or.5.wedge twisters that if any
populated area is in path it will do severe damage and sadly worse. I will keep all of you in my prayers and I hope ya ll will have built underground shelters or will be planning so. I didn t mean to not say how saddened I was for all that were in the path that day and before and after. I have put on my bucket list a trip to T town to see the best football team there is play sometime. Untill then.
    Rolllll Tide.

obowelmovement failed Alabama. DOOKEYCRAT idiots say say Bush failed new orleans but it was the mayor and governor who failed new orleans, not Bush. The woefully inept obowelmovement left thousands of Alabamians up a creek without a paddle for months.
