it s even easier if you get a tow from a yam that dictates the minimum pace.
There's no doubting bautistas skill, but on like for like machinery Toprak would have left him for dead. I'd go far as to say toprak is in the top 5 greatest riders ive ever had the pleasure of watching ride.
What about Jonathan Rea? Would you have him up there?
@@steph2k1uk probably but not 100% on that. He's fantastic, his titles say alot. I believe he should have been given a better chance in moto with honda.
@@xWILZTAxRea is up there with Rossi and Marquez for me. I think both WSBK and Moto GP are top class championships with amazing riders in them.

Toprak just couldn't get the power down on that last corner. At 1:44 you can see him lose a little traction which allows Bau to slip around the outside and have an easy run to the finish. All Bautista had to too was keep it close through the last lap until the final corner. Great racing
Exactly, sector 4 was Alvaro way faster than Toprak, you can see how easily he closes the gap and the Yamaha slides into the last turn.
If they switched motorbikes between themselves for a season I believe SBK's ratings will drop by half

Do not confuse yourself . Stoner was a MotoGp rider. Toprak has different skills in WSBK that bikes are bigger and heavier. This guy is fenomenal and full skilled.

It was the talk of the paddock the whole year, now it is legislated, combined weight minimums will be in place in 2024, let's see Bautista in 2024, he'll have to ride the bike like the rest of the grid, having to use the whole grid for he'll be subject to the same momentum, you won't see Bautista straighten up in the middle of the grid exiting corners anymore, I can surely say as a rider with 20 years experience, he won't be in the championship conversation, they can give Ducati all their RPMs back but won't matter for Bautista won't be able to manage the weight..I was expecting a championship in his 2. year, but I will go and make a bold prediction now, Toprak/BMW will be champion in 2024! Let's put it in writing here..
Weight difference between Bautista and Toprak is like 5-7kg... So unfortunately bike which can go fast only in a straight line will be still superior.
@@dizzicz On the contrary buddy, the ducati is fast both in straights and corners, a look at the sector times will be enough to conclude that if you can't see with your eyes.. secondly, the weight difference is at least 15kg, your info source is wrong, this whole regulation is coming to offset Bautistas edge, because he was light he had less TC (corner momentum), he could straighten up earlier, ie open gas earlier in the corner, this is called early drive off, because of all this he would reach higher acceleration much earlier than competition..you clearly are ignorant of the trade, let's leave the comments here and return here 5 races into next season..you'll understand things by then..difference will be like day and night!
Nonsense. The weight difference will actually be negligible simply because of the power these machines put out. However,let's see, indeed, in 2024. I think you're in for a shock.
@@T-Bone54 It's about momentum in the corners, gas is off there, power is out of question.. with higher weight you'll have to swing wider, to the racing line at the limit which all riders were using, Bautista on the other hand could easily open gas from the middle of the grid..for this you either have to brake waay early and enter the corner slow, or enter the corner light, in this very video you can see how this happens, how bautista has to brake less in the corner and how he can open gas much earlier.. Again this change was pushed by all teams for this season but it was denied..we'll definitely come back here next year buddy, don't delete comments sil vous plait!
@@bilalaturca do you know that braking distance is more less same for one passenger and for two passengers? Weight doesn't matter. Its function of gravity. More weight allows to put bigger force on the tires.

I don't understand, clearly in this video. Toprak was letting the bike. Run all the way to the edge of the track on exit. Which means he was carrying corner speed. Once he got in front of Bautista.
@@s2wheels in MotoGP you brake early and carry a lot of corner speed. In WSBK, you brake, turn, and throttle. Think of it like this, WSBK is 90 degree turn. MotoGP more of an arc.

Yes I understand the concept completely.
They also point and shoot in Gp. They also back into the turns. Also they trail brake alot and steer with the rear in GP.
The difference is the brakes, electronics,tire manufacturer and tires. The chassis is more rigid on a GP bikes.
Now with the aeros that's another mix. Much much more to learn.
Look at Brad Binder, he rides that GP bike like it's a superbike. Also it depends on the track layout. If it's a nice flowing track. Yes nice sweeping lines. If it's a track more technical in the turns and tight. Then it's point and shoot on the GP bikes.
All GP riders trail brake.

Anyone who has ever riden in Portimao knows how tough the track is to ride. But I can completely understand Toprak's fustration, he drove so well and then in the last corner he just had no chance, the Ducati just had so much more grip and power, unbelievable.
Toprak stated that he couldn't stop Alvaro in sector 4 he was way faster than Toprak. Also Alvaro was faster in some other corners and Toprak in other corners, they where really equal that weekend. Only Alvaro was so strong in Sector 4 and opened the throttle earlier than Toprak and was already next to him midway the corner and only won by .1 of a second.

alvaro literally kept up with toprak in the corners where he is the weakest because its tough to change direction with his weight and small frame, toprak should pull out a 6-7 tenth gap in the middle sector but he didnt so keep hating on alvaro as much as you guys want (i am a toprak fan too, just not toxic)
Exactly, and very tired to argue with toprak fans. when Toprak overtake Alvaro they said it was talent. However, when Alvora was able to overtake Toprak, they said it was because the engine. even though to overtake on a straight line also requires skill in cornering
Well said, Alvaro is an extremely high quality rider (and so is Toprak).
I wish yamaha will use v4 engine in new gen, or still crossplane but with 210+hp (standard)
Watching Toprak having to defend and take what looked like slower lines to do so only to get beaten outside is heartbreaking …imo no one is beating that Ducati with a competent rider on it ,and baustista is def a lil more than competent…switch bikes ,allowing both to get use to em and have them setup for them , I don’t see any rider ever catching Toprak .not to take anything away from Bautista he rode smart ,didn’t burn up the rubber by constantly trying to get and stay ahead and made the move when it was now or never …smart !

Obviously i would never dare saying a professionel rider is not skilled. You can see how tight the skill gap is. But what you also see is that Toprak risks everything to hit the brakes so late and hard as he does always anyways 🤣 passing Alvaro before or in the turn... while Alvaro does the same movement with his gas hand just like Toprak in the straight line but has more power and eats him easily like nothing. Still a great fight but not fair in my opinion.
Look race 2 back, Bautista passes him a couple of times under braking and in the corners. Last lap Bautista closed the gap in sector 4, he was way faster than Toprak in those corners and in the last corner Bautista had the better drive and was already next to Toprak midway the corner. Toprak was defending and didnt had the drive Bautista had the better line and was earlier on the power and that made the difference.

It should be annoying for Bautista to watch Toprak pulling away in the corners. Bautista has a better machinery that can make up for the talent defecit. It's always rider + bike combo. Feel sorry for Toprak. Hats off for Ducati to engineer such a bike like this. And also Bautista is a top class rider too.
People for get the other Ducatis and Yamaha are not to be seen. Toprak only competiter is Alvaro and his Ducati. Alvaro is lighter and uses his GP skills that makes a big difference. Also Kawasaki and Yamaha cried 😭😭 About Ducati so Ducati were made to reduce their reve range but Alvaro kept winning so they cried again 😭 😭 so the Japanese manufacturers could increase their reve range 🤔 still Alvaro kept winning again a big cry 😭😭 they were allowed to increase again

Baitusta should not be in this classification with his height of 1.60 m and weight of 60 kg. Toprak and Jhonatan are 6-7 kg heavier and taller than him, so they lose the advantage they gained in the corners on the straights. This isn't fair at all. Even boxers and wrestlers who are not of the same weight are not allowed to compete together.
