Knowsley Road is one of those places where looking back - the facilities were rubbish. Men had to pee against a wall in the open and women had to queue for an age, the food van in the corner you could never get food unless you went 10 mins before half time, you couldn't see the full field if you were at the top of the away end. The lights didn't reach the full pitch. The seats were old, woody and uncomfortable. If it rained half of the ground was screwed. The bar was too small, the shop was too small and the parking situation was horrendous. But if I could I would love to see the it again and drink in that atmosphere.
@@neverwriteoffst.helens7136, your a better team right now, but historically is Wigan by a mile, more titles and challenge cups and 4 world club challenges, you only get 2 points each game, even if saints win Friday, you don't win nothing, no Wembley since 2007 and 1 grand final win since 2006, saints are better right now but Wigan are bigger, saints could win a treble this year but will still be smaller than Wigan, roll on July 12th, Wigan will win 18-22
The most noticeable thing is the quietness of the referee, not telling the players what to do, just pinging them if they don't play to the rules, like the offisde at the kick. This is what is all wrong with the way the game is officiated currently, this is fast and clean at the ruck. The 2006 Saints side were a really top top side, that Hull got close t them in that first play-off game and didn't get steam-rollered in the final playing a lot of Hull born academy players is a testament to them but Saints were supoerb all year.
Probably the only time Hull brought any local players through who were any good in numbers; their youth development is generally appalling and even more so compared to Wigan and Saints...
And you never won the challenge cup that year, remember 2011, semi final at halliwell Jones? 18-12? You get nilled in a challenge cup final by Wigan, your always in there shadow. #foreverinwigansshadow
Your just salty coz Wigan are bigger, you can call warrington shit coz no league title since 1955, but Wigan literally won it last season and have a chance this season
roll on 12th july when we make it 3-0 we beat wigan in round 1 then in round 2 and 12th july we will make it 3rd time this season we beat them horrible pies head to head St.Helens 40 wins Wigan Warriors 36 wins 4 draws
This 2006 side was unstoppable.
They were, but Wigan 06 were particularly poor
i miss Knowsley road so badly
miss it like a boil on the arse.
Do myself mate
Sculthorpe an absolute beast of a player.
Forever Saints

2006 saints side still the best side I've seen in my lifetime! Super leagues gone soft now and the standard is shite!

@@Andy78Lthats ridiculous, Hull constantly have had for 20 plus years up to a third of their matchday squad from their acadamy.
my favourite Knowsley road favourite is when we took Wigan Warriors to the cleaners 75-0
Do you want a medal for that?
