I just purchased a product I've never seen it's by a company called venev and it's 0.5micron diamond compound in a lip balm style thing. I'm gonna be trying that out here soon on one of my strops. But this video is much appreciated ty.

Balsa wood works great for stropping. Depending on what you are trying to accomplish on a strop, the leather does matter. There are some folks out there that could explain this really well, like Neeves knives, Michael Christy and some others. Search it up and they have some good teaching content
@@ahmedejaz1125 scientifically, I’m not sure. The diamonds are very fine. I do know that it lasts a good while before needing to add more and it works really well.
Use isopropyl alcohol, the higher the concentration the better, and let it dry off the leather then apply a little mineral oil to hold the compound in there otherwise it will dust off once the alcohol dries.

How well do diamonds adhere to strop after the water dries off? Do they come off during stropping as there is no compound holding it on the strop?
