I suffered severe depression and mental disorder. Got diagnosed with cptsd. Not until a friend recommended me to psilocybin mushrooms treatment. He reminds me of an old coworker I had at a landscaping company. I was in my 20's chugging water in 90F heat, and my co-worker was in his 50's doing the same work with a diet of beer, sausage, and ash. I have now clue how he's still alive. He looked rough, but still it was astounding.

Of course if your body is used to nothing but sugar fat and other carbs, and has been rewarding you with dopamine for decades, taking that away will feel bad. Thats how addiction works. Once youre at a point where your body actually knows whats good for it and you are capable of listening to its demands, there is nothing more refreshing than an ice cold glass of water to quench your thirst. Of course it wont feel as rewarding as the metric fuckton of dopamine that is released when you drink something thats 50% pure refined shugar. But that is not the normal state your body would be in if it wherent in this artificial enviorment we live in. Its like w meth addict who cant find joy in having sober sex anymore. Sex still is awesome, but compared to the artificial and completely over the top rush you get from meth fueld sex, its nothing. But if a meth addict can learn to enjoy sober sex again, an obese person can learn to enjoy living and eating healthy. From experience, the energy and motivation you get from feeling good in your own healthy (not reffering to weight or figure, just having a healthy metabolism) body feels better than any food binge you could ever go on. Its just a matter of time and getting used to it.

I agree, when I got sick lost a third of my body weight and was no longer “obese” I spent the next year feeling sick with no strength even when I was no longer actually sick and I was constantly out of breath. I would almost pass out when I bent over to pick something up. Put 30 lbs back the following year and felt unstoppable. My body couldn’t handle the reduced blood pressure

I've never understood the logic of living the most healthy life possible when you're going to die no matter what and by living longer you're just extending the worst years of your life. He's lived his life guzzling sugar, booze, candy, junk food, and making a shit ton of money at the same time doing a job he probably loves. Granted he may ultimately live a shorter life than some, but I bet he's enjoyed every second of it.
Yup. In hindsight Id swap having a mostly boring and miserable life and living to 85 for having a fun happy life but dying at 70. I made the wrong choices in life working hard, dieting, quitting drugs and smoking etc.
Problem is, this type of lifestyle will take you down significantly quicker than a semi healthy one. Not saying you have to be a health nut, but drinking mostly water and not eating sweets everyday will improve your quality of life significantly.
